That is exactly how the latin american countries which established and make up the ALBA operates.

We do what the HELL we like. We are the boss and we have the power. And if you citizens and residents don't like it. Too bad. You citizens are just not important to us the BIG BAD Government.

Even though the iron curtain came down. And the Berlin Wall was torn down; the philosophy of socialist/ marxist orientation is FRESH in the minds of folks like Kenny Anthony.

There is now a new Law introduced in the United States called Counter ALBA. Interesting times ahead. We will now see who is the real boss and who is the true BULLY; and who will survive or vanish from the scene.

This move is very sinister. Nothing good is behind this. The government operates like this; whenever it is up to no good. Whenever it feels a Government Unit is too independent or too strong; and not cowtailing to it (the government).

Something STINKS in the state of

Lucia crying out to high heaven.

It appears to me that Fletcher and Kenny has a beef against some person or persons both at the RCI and that the way to get rid of those persons and weaken their professional independence and strength.

Kenny Anthony did this kind of tricks since he became Prime Minister in his first term and it has continued. Kenny must never again be placed in Government in this country. Shame on those who returned him to power. This man can never change. He is an extremely DECEPTIVE individual.

Before we flambeaus start yapping about this don't forget this a changing world. 30 to 20 years ago things have change drastically and we failed to change even how we feel about things. Please allow the program to run

I see nothing wrong with this restructuring process. Get a grip.

In one instance it took some uneasiness at the Government Information Service, (GIS) and the National Television Network, (NTN) before the announcement of three consultants and ongoing plans could be made public. They are Kirby Allain, who was hired to make recommendation and restructure the GIS and NTN as well as create a blueprint different from the blueprint for growth, for collaboration between GIS/NTN and Radio Saint Lucia, (RSL). In case you’re thinking of reading the recommendations to be made by Kirby Allain, don’t hold your breath. Historically, it’s none of the taxpayers business. We (taxpayers)simply have to pay for the report.
The other consultant is a former news director at RSL, Shelton Daniel who has been given a one year contract to host a new mid morning talk show called 90 minutes and other programs on RSL as well as a nightly newscast on NTN.
Now here’s the best one. Former press secretary to prime minister Kenny Anthony, Earl Bousquet, who would have preferred a posting in Cuba to hang-out with friends, has accepted a contract to produce and host a TV version of the newspaper supplement, Nationwide, to give his spin and detail his government coming and goings. How difficult could that be for someone who’s verbatim comes naturally.
On this cold evening, almost midnight in London waiting for the Oscars, all of these consultants/loyalist/actors are eligible for a nomination in 2014. But not before the following questions are answered;
- Is the government of Saint Lucia creating an avenue so as not to have use for outside media and give them the stiff?
- Will the media have unrestricted independent access to government information and ministers to account to the people of Saint Lucia?
- Or will the NBN be the sole source to access and direct government information with the sympathetic views of the hosts.
- What checks and balance will be used other than to angle programming to win public opinion towards the Labour Party using taxpayer’s money?
- What will become of attaining factual knowledge of the reporting by NBN?
- What is the cost to the taxpayers in this guava season’?
Already, dissenting voices and opposition parties have to succumb to Radio Saint Lucia to the language of “not approved” for the non airing of community information, news insert, paid political advertisement and messages.
Based on experience, the theory to merge or “dove tale” the various government information units, RSL, and NTN, to form NBN have all the tapings of an SLP defense network. You may take issue with my claim but straight-up to my face; this cannot be denied. Just look at the cheerleaders surrounding this venture. And by the minister for information and broadcasting’s own statement that “the focus of NBN is to highlight government achievement and to disseminate government information.”
So there you have it folks, what more is there to be said. NBN could very well be a grand scheme for the distribution of SLP propaganda.

5:14 are you pleased with the work GIS in its present form? Are we getting value for our taxes from GIS? Is the BBC a propaganda arm of the government?

Amalgamations, merging, comings together! To what end?
\How does this really benefit our people or our country as a whole? Who the hell cares about the dissolving of GIS? That is simply another distraction from the real issues... Our country is on a downward spiral...crime is on the upsurge, police cannot deal with it, poverty is rampant our youth are trying to survive by any means necessary and our people are dying in our hospitals for lack of proper medical care. We are left wringing our hands in either ire or sorrow. The question is, who the hell is going to fix our malignant problems and bring some normalcy back to St Lucia? GIS is our last worry and we do not give too hoots about its survival. Good riddance to all the propaganda and the damn lies!

Blogger above; you have missed the critical point. Communism in large scale in St. Lucia. The STATE is attempting to stifle the media. Interesting. Labour Party hacks in every area of this so-called re-engineering. This country is being made to STINK by Kenny Anthony and his bunch of wretches and under them this country is dyingg by the second. Oh GOD put a hand. Our country is a complete mess under Anthony and company. Where the hell is the bloody Minister for National Security and what is he doing in that office, or is he too bust trotting the globe.
