Having just watched the National joy here in Barbados on Ryan Brathwaite's return home and the way it has stirred up commitment to supporting sports from the primary school level, I support your call totally!

We need to grab every opportunity to splash the positive possibilities for the young people all over the place so they seep into the Nation's consciousness and have a chance to displace some of the negative.

The comment was made here that in 13.14 seconds Ryan's win did more for Barbados tourism than all the millions spent in promotion.

I quite agree with you on the need for a Lavern billboard. Some weeks ago I wrote an article in the Voice stating that our heroes and persons to look up are not being publizised enough so that the young folks will have someone to look up to, and one of the best ways are through advertising billboards. Maybe if we keep pushing this at the advertising companies, they will hear our cry.
