Finally we as St. Lucians are beginning to show humility with regard to our relations to others.

Rather than the jaded manner that the Labour Party incompetents treated the Taiwenese (and any of their friends except for totalitarian states) we now see St. Lucians begin to appreciate that another country in our time of need has put their best foot forward to help our citizens.

Nothing makes us more mendicants than when we receive things and do not even appreciate the import. When we can put a value on things including morality and values only then can we advance as a people.

Thank you Taiwan. We do our part in supporting you in the international diplomatic arena and we thank you for reciprocating in such competent manners.

I also think we need to thank China for starting the project so many years ago.
In spite of the China/Taiwan inbroglio both political entities come from a great thousands of year old tradition and it is a pity we are face with a choice of either /or.

I hope this means that the people in Golden Hope will be moved into this hospital as as matter of urgency rather than having to wait another how many years. The next thing we need is a good mental health act so that our more vulnerable members of society will not be treated a second class citizens any longer.

This thing looks like a majestic building. Thanks Taiwan.

Tiawan did not build this hospital, China build it. Tiawan only did the finishing touches.

Who cares, china hates St.Lucia so I don't care much for the Chineese.

Who cares, what you cares! China hate St Lucia enough to give us the mental hospital, the sport stadium in VF, had to build the general hospital, a cultural center, $100 million towards our budget. You love St Lucia so much how much are you sending down to us as donation?

Yes this majestic building, your smart government only made 80 beds for mental patients, they use the balance for other purposes, can you imagine that? They were never in favor of this hospital for mental patients, claiming it is to big. The SLP was building a new general hospital, and the mental hospital was to be used exclusive for mental patients. With the amount of mental patients we have in St Lucia 80 beds will never be enough.

yeah, their idea was to drive all St Lucians nuts. That's why they wanted to make the facility an all out mad instituation to bring us all in. Thanks Taiwan. God know we have a few mad people in our country and I hope they get the help they deserve. We also have hundreds more who are suffering from other sickness. We need to reach out to them to. This was a well executed plan on the part of King's government.

St lucians if we have nothing sense able to say please think and re read before we write. The last comment, what you mean by "their idea was to drive all St Lucians nuts........" Do you really believe in what you write, or you just trying to be political. How can a government delibrately get people mad then build a state of the art hospital to treat them. Does that make any sense to you? Why can't you say that the government wanted to take out the poor souls from that inhumane, mess called golden hope, that passes as a hospital, and they wanted to have enough space to treat all mentally ill patients, that roam all over St Lucia on a daily basic. The past government know that there was more sick people in St Lucia, and they want to reach to them, that is why they were building a new general hospital, and not to use the mental hospital as a general hospital. What is that well executed plan king administration has? The hospital was not their plan. Can you tell me ONE PLAN that is Kings own, he had in three years?

Wow, so ironic. As I'm reading these comments, here's Obama meeting the President of the PR China in Beijing. I suppose even superpowers like the US need to be cordial to these "totalitarian states"... What exactly are we supporting Taiwan as? As an independent state? I think we need to be clear what "supporting" Taiwan means in terms of geopolitics. The Taiwanese themselves are all too happy to invest and trade with the PR China. They are the same people. Also remember that not until long ago Taiwan was essentially a one-party state with the KMT, and also had human rights issues with the treatment of the indigenous Taiwanese Polynesian population. Anyway, I suppose I'm just "jaded" in my world views.

China is way worst than Taiwan when it comes to human rights.

We St Lucians are always talking about human rights for countries like Cuba and China etc, some of them are not even well informed, they just repeat what they hear, but they tend to ignore what is happening right here at home in St Lucia. In St Lucia our prison are full with only poor jumbies, some of us are blind to this human rights issue. The rich commit crimes but NEVER goes to prison eg, that uwp Walcot guy who chopped the poor young, they allow him to leave the country, the guy who they claimed who stole the money from the tourism ministry, he was also allowed to skip the country. etc, etc

We have a man in prison for 5 years for murder and he is now being taken to court after 5 long years. Is that not a human right issue? Please before we look at other people country, let us look at St Lucia first.
