Wow she should be a stripper instead of a ploice she would have made more money, and why would they have a police woman or a presenter dress this way to apcept or give an award it goes to show the police force in SLU has no class.

Tonyshaft you hit the nail on the head, boy most people in the service in St Lucia do not get awards or promoted by doing hard work, it who you know and how much ass you kiss, that is all i have to say, talking from experience.

Stephanie Henry.....Cop or hooker? You decide.

That is what St lucia has come to? mean nobody could not have told that girl, that she is a cop so she has to dress decent. I know at training school they would inspect you before you leave the compound, to be sure you are dressed properly. So now training is over with these principles are thrown out of the door. Police women with visible tattoos.

She was not on duty and she is not a nun so why don't you people get a life?

Who ever told you attending a police function is not considered duty? I know if you have to work and you have to attend another function for the police, the function is considered duty, may it be sports like cricket, football or an award ceremony organized by the force, that is considered duty. So get your facts straight. Stop acting like a child, we all have our lives.

Conratulations to all those who received awards, provided that they deserved them. I'm not one to mince my words, so I'll agree with those who have said that the WPC was dressed inappropriately for the occasion. However, maybe she doesn't know better, so lets not hang her for her fashion faux pas.On a more serious note, the RSLPF and Mr Mayers have got a task ahead of them. One word of advice Mr Myers, do not place obviously near impossible expectations on the force. I'd be delighted if there would be a 50% reduction in the crime figures by the end of 2010. To make this possible means that there would have been an initiative in place atleast a few years prior to 2010. Based on historic fact and deeply embedded malpractise in many senior officers, competent policing of our island will take time to come about. it will be a long process which will ultimately involve the dishonourable discharge of some officers. What about the trainning Mr Myers, have you sent a contingent overseas yet? We clearly can't get it right in St Lucia. Have we started a finger print database yet? Are we penalising cops for using the public's vehicles to take their jabals to the Supermarket? We need to keep it real Mr Myers, otherwise we will keep getting it wrong. There are good cops on the force, however, their frustration is stiffling their potential. The truth is we need help. Not in the forms of some washed out English cops looking for fully paid holidays in the sunshine. Send our cops overseas, remove them from the everyday crap. Change their mindsets, so that they realise that they are there to protect and serve the public and not intimidate them. Take my advice Mr Myers, I've watched local cops operate on numerous occasions and what I've seen is beyond a joke. Fratenising with known drug dealers, sex with minors, drinking on the job, selling firearms and ammo, destroying evidence, offering their services as hitmen, yes you better believe it. Before we are able to reduce crime, we need to clean up the force. That will take some stomach, and a very clinical approach. Forget being friends for 25 years and all that familiarity, we need to take back these streets and we need to do it soon. Whats your plan of action Mr Myers? I've made some suggestions, other folk out there may have plenty more. Maybe its time the Government starts listening to us, for a change. Your work is cut out for you, best of luck Mr Myers.

As a Police Officer myself, I am surprise to see Leonnard Johnny's(sgt. 85)name as one of the persons who retired from the RSLPF. He just turned twenty years service and I was hoping that he would have stayed longer. He has a degree in Criminology and is presently pursuing a Doctrate. To lose such a person in the RSLPF at this time when we need such expertise is very disheartening or mind blogging(I am lost for words) to say the least. On the other hand, i undertsand why he left because his expertise was under or never utilse, he was not being recognise, as a matter of fact I know he was a threat to the hierarchy and that was the reason why he was being frustrated. It is a shame for the RSLPF. I would not be surprise that with the departure of Mr. Johnny, the government will now import a Criminologist from outside, to appoint in the RSLPF/Ministry of Home Affairs in the not too distant future because we do not appreciate our locals, we believe they are inferior. Mr. Johnny, I wish you well in all our endeavours and I am sure you will make a name for yourself, will make your country and family proud and will be able to make much more money as a consultant or lecture some where else where your expertise will be cherish than wasting your time in the RSLPF. That is how it is in St lucia my brother, everything is a friendship thing, it is not what you know, it is who you know. Look at the calibre of men we have leading St Lucia today, do you believe St Lucia cannot do better than that?

To the anonymous Police Officer, I understand your disappointment and frustration. Its a real shame and is also a definite call for change. I was appalled to see that we imported a couple of deadbeat UK officers to do what? I don't know....Nothings changed since their 'guest appearance' or holiday in the sunshine as I'd prefer to put it. Persevere my brother..Keep going for the safety of our people. Hopefully, sooner than later, we will get it right...

You people really need to get over it. Yes she's a police officer but she's also a woman. A woman with the right to feel/dress sexy if she feels like it. No its not duty its a damn award ceremony, hence the reason she's not in uniform. We're in 2010 for gods sake, embrace change and keep your judgement to yourself. Idiots!!
