Who will cast the first stone at Marcus?

Why can't the writer present himself and his party as an alternative because he can do so much better. Why do he want other people to do it for him? he will be perfect and never make a mistake. The question i want to ask, why people only focus on that one mistake made by Dr Anthony, for years and none of them ever mention his achievements? There is no government who is governing any where in the world who govern with out mistakes. This uwp government have made tons of mistakes when it comes to finances in St lucia in the past, and they continue to make mistakes up to today. I find it strange nobody is highlighting or talking about these mistakes, but they continue to talk about that one mistake of Dr Anthony. I want somebody to give me the reason for that. So because kenny made a mistake in his tenure, he as leader of the opposition should not ask for accountability from a government who came into office promising to do everything right? So i suppose you are saying because you made these same mistakes growing up, you have no right in correcting your children with their mistakes. You spoke about alternative, there is no alternative that will govern perfectively without mistakes.

This article is on spot! It is balance and drives to the root of the problem.

This single and insignificant matter will ensure Marcus a significant victory come next elections. Kenny of all people should not be the one calling for investigation. He who lives in glass houses should not throw stones. Every time Kenny opens his mouth, he will be reminded of his own mistakes and miscalculations that cost this poor Island irreparable financial damage.

Hardly a day goes by, that Kenny isnt reprimanded for some "cardinal sin." Is he really that bad? Cause from what I've heard and read it seems he is a "monster." And it also sounds like he is responsible for the current mess this joke of a government has placed St Lucia in. Get off your high horses people. Because a former deceased PM committed far worse sins and was patted on the back for a 'job well done.' You people are just a bunch of hypocrite enablers. Kenny Anthony isnt perfect, he must have done some things wrong. Havent we all? Isnt there anything more productive to do than to continually bash an imperfect man? Whoever u may be writer, why dont u write about some of the skeletons in your party's closet. And there must be thousands. Regardless of how u try to portray Dr. Anthony, to me he will still be the best thing to ever happen to St Lucia.

The writer lashes out at Kenny Anthony and some people get upset. In that very article the same writer lashes out at King and his puppets and it goes unnoticed. Who is bias here and who is the hypocrite enabler? Is it the writer for exposing the dirty little secret and flaws in our systm or is the reader who gets mad because Kenny's sins are equally highlighted? Get over it! Kenny is as much a part of the problem as King.

I like the independent approach of the writer. It is high time St Lucians demonstrate their political indepedence.

Kenny Anthony is far from perfect. Surely he must realise that by now. Had he been, we wouldnt have found ourselves in the predicament we now face with the likes of Stephenson King, Mondesir and Frederick representing our interests.

Why is it that the apologists for the failed Kenny Anthony Administrations of 1997 -2006 insist on acting as if the only "failings" of Dr. Anthony are the clearly defined mismanagements of Rochamel, the NCA and the cost overruns on road works totalling hundreds of millions of dollars.

The fact is that the Kenny Anthony Administrations also resulted in tremendeously low growth rates at a time of over a billion dollars in excess borrowings and with a massive spurt of growth in countries that supply us with most of our tourists.

Dr. Anthony was responsible for the most reprehensable level of political animosity aimed at people as Sir John compton, George Odlum, Rick Wayne and Sarah Flood. He dirtied the political atmosphere (ans continues to do so ) and turned families against each other. In Soufriere big noise was made about the firing of the women in the hostess (or whatever it was called)program but nothing was made of the fact that ALL of them were SLP supports showing the level of discrimination in the labour governments.

The cronyism during his tenure was unbeleivable. Jobs and contracts for the boys. Borrow and spend recklessly so the boys could get jobs and to hell with the economy.

Disrepect for the government of the people. He attends no national event as leader of the opposition for which he is paid $10,000/mth. He runs his own foreign policy alongside that of the present government- showing no respect for any institution. This shows a horrendeous level of disrepect that children see and will want to emulate.

This is a sound reminder to those who wish to delude themselves into believing that Kenny's problems are "only "about Rochamel.

His problems are not suddenly going to fly away on one bright starry evening, simply because you wish it would. Given a chance to change his dirty habits after a failed elections, Kenny elected to dig deeper into the same comess of dividing the country along party lines.

In all the years I have known this counry, I have never seen a nation so polarize along party lines like it is today. Is Kenny partly to be blamed. Of course yes!

Ok, u say that things are bad under this government, I agree. Ok, u say this government does not know its tail from its elbow. I agree . But tell me, what compromise are you willing to accept to made things better? You can't possibily tell us that the opposition as presently constructed has all the answers for St Lucia.

Why the haste to bring on more recycled and failed leadership? Damit! If u refuse to accept change, then there must be a better way forward for the country!

Yes nice two previous articles, these two articles were written by the same person. Did you re read what you wrote? because if you did, you will see you need a lot of corrections with facts. I will not even take my time to reply to you, because nobody like you will bluff or fool us St Lucians this time around. We are not blind we can see for ourselves.

Why should Kenny Anthony attend any function that government invites him to. I vividly recall some function that he attended in the south along with Stephenson King. I laughed my ass off watching the PM making some sort of attempt to put words into a sentence. Why do I laugh? Because he was clearly intimidated by the man standing behind him; that man was Kenny Anthony! I am sure he too must have been struggling to keep a straight face. Dont u get it people? Stephenson King is a joke. To Kenny I say, ou fout bien fete. Par aye pyes cote!

blah blah blah.

Anonymous said...

You're an idiot. Is that the only word in your evidently weak vocab?

Anonymous said...

The same way KING is the only word in your weak analysis. PM King is you'll boss. All of you idiots!

Anonymous said...

What benefits you or St lucia have in king? What has king done for St Lucia in the three years we are paying him? No wander you see things upside down, you consider politicians to be your boss. I always know we are the bosses of the politicians because we are the ones paying them from our taxes and we are the ones hiring them after they beg us to do so.

Anonymous said...

The benifit we have in King is to prevent Kenny from ever again putting his hands on our money.

Anonymous said...

So you prefer Fredrick, Mondaysee, Cal joseph, king, Tucker, Marcurse, Easy cal, Ass in James and the gang putting their hands in the money and doing nothing in the country? All they do is to travel the world. Good for you.

Any day any time. Yes Siree. At least we know where they are coming from. They have nothing to hide. You either love them or hate them.

Why are these two hacks busy playing the game of tit for tat on this board? Can someone explain?

Below is from an article in the St. Lucia Star newspaper.

"The second proposition is that the Minister of Finance (Kenny Anthony) by his undisciplined, abysmal and unprofessional handling of that most important ministry, has created a major problem of governance for other ministries (including Education) and for the entire country. Interestingly, this is a charge that many St. Lucians had leveled at Kenny Anthony years before the former P.S. found his own loquacious voice. Such was the strength of his attack on the prime minister and so glowing was his praise for Mario by Jules that it was clear both the finances of the country and the office of prime minister would be better served by Mr Michel. The sad conclusion from that speech is that both the Labour party and St. Lucia are in the hands of an indisciplined, unprincipled, opportunistic and weak politician who has shown only a fake compassion and little focus and appreciation for the nation’s pressing monetary and budgetary problems, including civil service reforms, and who has been on an uncontrolled spending binge ever since new Labour got into government. The employment of new technocrats, some of whom were not worthy, is unbecoming of strong leadership, according to Dr Jules, especially considering our dire financial situation. Dr Jules believes that the prime minister will be condemned by history for vacillating in the face of clear challenges and frankly, for being too pedestrian and too crassly opportunistic in serious matters of statecraft. This is harsh criticism indeed, especially coming from an insider with first-hand information. St Lucians are, therefore, bound to stop and pay attention. To many, Dr Jules has gone the extra step in preparing the ground to ensure that all vacillators get their desserts from the record of history. The scathing attack on the Ministry of Finance by Dr Jules will certainly do much more than merely raise a few eyebrows. It has struck such a serious blow at the credibility of the Minister of Finance, who also happens to be leader of New Labour, that many will feel justified in their continued condemnation of the government and the Ministry of Finance."

St. Lucia is going to hell in a hand basket, and all of you party hacks will be burned. You all are a mindless lot with no understanding of the most basic ideas, yet insist on pretending to know what is going on.

Anonymous said...

Some of u people are the epitome of stupid party hacks! What makes King more deserving of handling the country's money affairs? Is he more St Lucian than Kenny Anthony? I think not!! Racism is alive and kicking in St Lucia and that is sooooooo sad. I have a fairly good idea why some despise Kenny so much. He allowed us to make progress along with the rest of the world. We were stifled for far too long. Hence the reason our thinking is still so hindered. What a pity! Like the old folks say, 'faire bon by moun, c'est un kout pye yo ka foutayw. Go on Lucians. Enjoy the time u have left with the imbeciles u put in there because your days are numbered.

Come lets face it. Forget your party colours for once. Look at both Kenny in office and King. Kenny is a heavyweight intellect with a featherweight judgement. Most of whcih has been sightged in previous articles. By the way his choice of date for calling the election does not even make the top ten.! When he has stumbled over the truth, he always hastily picks himself up and hurries on as if nothing had happened. Finger prints what finger prints?.Kenny and Anthony are well and truely alive. For him if two wrongs don't make a right try three. He can not see a belt and not hit below it. Marcus' rotund 46 jelly belly will be shaking for a long time to come. How does he demonstrate compassion as a politician?,speak to Ras Ipa.
Some of his detractors believe that he is a cutlery man, born with a silver spoon in his mouth and he uses it to stab his colleagues in the back. Are the following gentlemen in the house Mario, PJP, Fergie?
Lets get to the point since the election have the people grown to trust and like Kenny more? If yes let the man run as leader see what happens.

The King is dead the King is dead. A modest man with much to be modest about. Some might say the worst thing you can say about democracy is that it has toletated the right honourable gentleman for about two years as PM. He listens to public opinion and follows it. So far in office he has done the work of two men, Laurel and Hardy. He looks at Foreign policy through the menu list in London, Port of Spain, New York. Double talk is his mothers tongue. He is a man whose vision is limited to tomarrow's headlines. He is forever poised between a cliche and an indescretion. Remember his budget address which sailed from vision to implementation back to implementation review, to his address to the nation. When there's no more to be said about a subject you can be sure he will be the one saying it. Here is a man who is completely unspoiled by failure. Sentiments often expressed in UWP circles.

Why can't St.Lucians start thinking out of the box? Can't we look beyond both Kenny and King to lead their respective parties?.

Well, Well, Well, the Taiwanese money paying for hacks and hackets.
I really like the discourse, reminds me of the high priests who wanted Barabas freed for Jesus. Not much has changed. I hope Kenny knows, this is the life he chose, that to be talented is a burden in St. Lucia. Let us release Fredrick Barabas and Rufus Barabas, and Guy Barabas and Marcus Barabas and the whole lot of them and give us Kenny, Pierre, Robert, Alva and Musa to crucify them.
You hacks and hackets will not prevail, the hundreds who graduated at Sir Arthur Lewis who laughed at the presentation made by you minister and UN Ambassador will have a voice come next elections, my two sons and nephew can't wait to let their voices be heard. Crucify him, Crucify him. I have no intention of intelectualizing this it is clear in the land of absurdity we are competing for the biggest "Ahole" prize

No, you are enroute for the RED A HOLE AWARD of year, 2009. Thanks for creating this very special award for yourself. What a mighty hole around your neck.

The writing is aleady on the wall. There's no way out for Kenny. Take this to the bank and calculate the number of days left for him as leader of the SLP.

Anonymous said...

And that's the gospel according to you? Are u kidding me?? And furthermore what is the driving force behind wanting Kenny out? Ahh, I know; you guys are intimidated by him. Of course he's highly educated and most definitely looks much more presentable than that 'abousak' King. LMAO. Mentally incapacitated fools!!!!!

Dor worry wit dem fellars, them fellars know full well King can NEVER win an election in St Lucia as PM in his life time. We Lucians are not mad.

Anonymous said...

You see how much of dull AH are? You learnt a lot from your master Kenny.

Who cares whether the SLP wants to hold on to Kenny as leadaaar! This is not our business. Decisions made by AHS in SLP is strictly a party affair. What is our concern is Kenny's defeat.

When we accomplish this objective at the polls, feel free to bury him, or rot with him as your defeated leadaaaar.

Anonymous said...

The problem is, who will defeat Kenny? For sure King CANNOT defeat kenny in his life time, on de other hand this present useless government who have dragged St Lucia three years backwards CANNOT win an election in the history of St Lucia or in the near future. We St Lucians will NEVER make a mistake twice.

Anonymous said...

Stay there! What time did you put down the bottle? I forget it was the rum season. Don't forget to fire one on Kenny's upcoming defeat.

Anonymous said...

Wheel and come again. If there's some sort of a joke hidden in that last comment, it escaped me. Surely u must be kidding! Because it will be a cold day in hell before King can even come close to beating Kenny! Kenny is charismatic, down to earth and intelligent. A triple threat! King on the other hand is a slobby mess, an uneducated fool and a calamity forced down St Lucia's throat.

Anonymous said...

The person who spoke about rum season. Forget about Kenny, do not mention Kenny and PLEASE, PLEASE, i am begging you. Give me just three (3) good reasons why we St Lucians should vote King as PM. If you having difficulties just give me one good reason. Stop using rum as an excuse, make a valid point.

Anonymous said...

For the same reasons why they have always voted for people whom they were most comfortable with and looked more like them.

Fool to think that winning an elections is about ACADEMICS.

Fool to think that winning an elections is ALL about Kenny.

Fool to think that winning an elections is about HOW MUCH YOU AND YOUR KIND HATE THIS GOVERNMENT.

Fool to think that winning an elections is about WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE.

COME AGAIN!

Anonymous said...

Is that the reasons you present to the people of St lucia for wanting to vote for King, i ask you to forget about Kenny, you still mentioned his name, because i suppose you know how important he is to the development of St Lucia. By the way i read your presentation about three times, up to now i cannot understand a word you wrote, i have not seen one good point you you presented, as i asked you. You must come better than that if you want to defend your boy King.

Anonymous said...

I cannot believe in an age of computers, when we entering a new decade 2010, whey Tnt is offering univercity education to all it citizens, one has the guts to write on this forum about electing academics. he or she is satisfy with a none performing semi literate PM we have in St Lucia, who cannot understand his head from his elbow. He also have the heart to say people hate the government. People do not hate the government per say, they hate their none performance.

Anonymous said...

The reasons given by this lunatic are laughable. Fist of all to acknowledge the PM's below average academic skills justifies the thinking of those of us who are seeking ways of humiliating King. Go ahead fool, rub the salt in the already festering wound. As for hating the government speak for yourself blogger above me, because I detest the government and it's style of governance with all of my being. The country is in a vegetative state, thanks to those men and women that form the government.

Anonymous said...

I will always say we because i know personally many people who do not like how this government operates.

Back to the issue. Don't try evading this one. I need concrete and clear explanation as to what really went on with Kenny.

This is nothing new you are telling us, we all know all the details of Dr Anthony and how he govern St Lucia, all what you are saying was highlighted long before the election, that information went right through the election up to now we still hearing the same things. So it is nearly five long years we are hearing the same things about Dr Anthony. We voted Dr Anthony out of office because of all what we heard. So what are you still trying to convince us about? What are you afraid of? Why are you so desperate? You have already achieved your goal of voting Dr Anthony out of office. If his replacement is any better than him, as they promised us they would have been, then you should have no problems, St Lucians will re election them and forget about Dr anthony in the background, where he is presently is. Now instead of talking about Dr Anthony, you should be talking about all the achievements of his replacement. Show the people that Dr Anthony did not achieve anything when he had his chance, and now his replacement has brought St Lucia so far ahead, with so many achievements. I believe that is what most St Lucians want to hear. If you have any good intentions for St Lucia, let us hear the good things our government is doing or have done for the past three years we are paying them. Talking about Dr Anthony will only make him more popular. I believe that is one of the weakness of the uwp, because i heard a news cast in which the representative for Soufriere saying how there is nothing happening in his district. Smart man Chastanet who want to go up in Soufriere come next election, is saying the SLP is to be blamed because they did not do anything in Soufriere for 9 years, he forget they are now in office. Does that make sense? So that type type of PR will not work, it will only work for an opposition party but when a government is in office they cannot just come to the people just criticizing the opposition. They must show their ACHIEVEMENTS.

Anonymous said...

Well said! And boy do they love Kenny bashing! Though some amonng them are morons I dont think all are. Surely they must know brainwashing works only for those who dont know better! Kenny didnt do this, that and the other. Last I checked Kenny wasnt at the helm and the country is still in a deep coma. Poor St Lucia. My heart bleeds along with yours.

Anonymous said...

These people believe because they bashed Kenny with a lot of help from the media and they won the last election, they will continue bashing him and that will work for then again. But they fail to realize the shoe is on the other foot now. An opposition do not have anything to show, all they have to do is to bash the government, but when you are in government you have to show the people the work you did for their tax dollars they are paying you. Dr Anthony work is there for all to see, it is now the turn of the government to produce their work, that is the way the people will judge them come election day. No among of Kenny bashing will put them in good light.

Anonymous said...

True! Was thinking just an hour ago about the work Kenny did vs King. There's nothing to compare really because this government has done nothing worthy of even the tiniest acknowledgement. Nothing, nada, zilch. All they can do is to delude themselves into thinking they 'fixed' the George Odlum stadium. Bull crap!!!!!!

Readers before you go all "coo-coo" about this story, first check who wrote it...Franklin McDonald! Remember him? He is the ex-Editor of this newspaper... he's got an axe to grind with Dr. Kenny Anthony, blaming him for his demise.
Lucian we all know that the former Prime Minister made a major error, but let's face facts...a "5-star" hotel was built, and, it has created jobs for about 100 St. Lucias.

Anonymous said...

Yes, the North Koreans have huge monuments too and they're all there for us to see.

LOL

Dem fellas are trying all kinds of things to shield Kenny and Tony. Everybody who challenges Kenny's ability has a problem. Mr. Mcdonald, Dr. Jules, Mario, Rick Wayne, Springer, Marianna Williams and the long list goes on.

Fools always find it hard to face up to reality. Going in the New Year I suspect things aren't going to be any better for Kenny.

Anonymous said...

Shielding kenny from what? If you are discussing our plight in St lucia seriously, why the name calling? The question i want to ask you is, why must we concentrate our efforts on Kenny when the man did his stint and is now out of office? Does that make any sense? I may be wrong, but i strongly believe the reason for that is, we have a replacement incompetent government now in office which is 100% worse than the SLP government, after they are not implementing any new creative or progressive policies, they are involving themselves in many dishonest scandals. So some people are trying to distract people from the government, by talking about Kenny, people will forget we have a government that is not working. I do not believe that will work, because are much more educated today, thanks to the SLP for providing schools for ALL, both primary and secondary.

Anonymous said...

Kenny's no different from the rest of this government. Anyone who cost Taxpayers money do not deserve to occupy that job again.

Please tell or show me which government on the face of this earth that does not " COSTTAX PAYERS MONEY" If you can name one i will be happy. Praise God uwp has never cost tax payers money????? What a joke, I was not born today you know, if you was born today you must check St Lucia history politically either in books or ask people who will speak the truth, OK.

No competent government on the face of the earth should cost tax payers money. No government on the face of the earth should lie to their people and attempt to cover up their mistakes.
