It was not abolishing the Monarchy, it was abolishing the rule of succession so that if Catherine's first born is a girl then she can be queen and not the first born son. How lying, Earl?

The island of St Lucia today became the first Commonwealth country to back a bid to change royal succession laws before Prince William and Kate Middleton have children.
New Zealand is also supporting ending the rule under which a woman in the line of succession is automatically superseded by a younger male sibling. Pressure is also growing on the Canadian government to back a Private Member's Bill in Britain to modernise succession legislation.
Keith Vaz, Labour chairman of the Commons home affairs committee, is pushing for the reforms which would mean that if the couple's first child is a girl she would become Queen. He has written to the 15 other Commonwealth countries where the Queen is head of State.
Stephenson King, prime minister of Saint Lucia, said: "I am very supportive of the view that succession should not be based on preference of one gender over another. Throughout the world and for centuries, women have proven themselves capable of leading nations."
