Greedy Politicians is what keeps the majority of our Caribbean islands holding firm to their position as third world nations.

Your country is destroyed by a hurricane and you continue to have flooding issues year round yet you pay no attention to establishing, repairing or maintaining non-existent and minimally adequate infrastructure. It sickens me that these politicians would rather fatten their pockets using shady business tactics. A tourist spend ~2 hours in the airport if that much. What sense does it make to invest all of this money into that. Pure foolishness. Meanwhile your own citizens remain illiterate, uneducated, spiral further into poverty, and your country crime ridden.

I concur. I was shocked beyond belief, when on Sunday, June 5, I traveled to Soufriere and saw the state of despair the roads, gutters and others are in!

Surely, one would have thought our government would have taken every possible steps to help improve the conditions of these roads and ravines.

I was not impressed too, when I landed in VFort a few weeks, and saw the conditions of the roads in the Barre D'isle. The Barre D'isle is a time bomb just waiting, not to mention the mess I saw in Bexon. Meanwhile, jail-birds has moved to porch 1.6 million dollars a year offices!

So much for setting our priorities.

dont worry as the election approaches there will be a mass cosmetic repair of the roads. this is intended to fool us that the government is being effective.
one thing for sure we cant blame kenny for the state of disrepair the countries infra structure is in.
kenny with all his faults ensured our roads were up to standard.
I was all for giving the current government a chance but they have wasted the mandate bestowed on them.

Jackass,

You can say what you want but you won't find me joining you in saying that St Lucia is an idiotic country. If you feel that way why don't you go about you business. Why waste all the time in the world insulting the good people of St Lucia. It does not matter what party is in power respect is due to the citizens of our country. Why don't you take your intellectual bag load to a place where everyone feel and thinks like you.

UWP, SLP, LPM what have you. I have a great love and respect for the people of St Lucia!!!!!

If the UWP will not do their job ... surely some of the SLP members should be able to lend a hand. That would be a big help. Nothing wrong in doing that ... you think? Unfortunately, they know exactly who they are fooling.

As for the idiot who thinks St Lucians are idiots - I take great displeasure in your insulting take about YOUR fellow countrymen.

Where is your PRIDE ... where is your "lending hand"?? Instead of saying "what can I do for my country" and "what can I do to help my country" ...? You sit on YOUR IDIOTIC backside and wail about idiots.

It takes and Idiot to know an Idiot!!

Amen!

Mind you these are the people who claim to be paining to save the country.

The "idiotic" citizens are the ones with the power. They are the ones to decide if the intellectuals are going to run their country. It's a no no game plan if the first order of the day is to insult the citizens of the country.

I have been writing about these and i do believe that our media and newspapers need to write and talk about the plight of these areas.
Instead of writing and talking about juicy stories, these need urgent attention.
I still cannot understand where all the monies and aid that was given to st lucia after hurricane Tomas and what did this goverment do with it.
