All the CARICOM countries are invading St. Lucia. The imbeciles and complete idiots that the idiots in St. Lucia voted into parliament have not put in place one measure, not a single measure that can get a St. Lucian business to expand into another country or the world. They are still waiting for handouts from China or Taiwan to help them develop.

At the same time, 40 percent of the population is below the poverty line and growing. Twenty percent of the population is unemployed. Like someone repeated to me some time ago, with all the buffoons, drug lords, semi-literates, liars, charlatans, and very uneducated people sitting in parliament with the likes of Rick, Tim, and Jukebois as advisors to dimwit for a PM, St. Lucia is real idiot country.

“Butch” hails investors for commitment to Jamaica
Thursday, August 12, 2010

HOTEL mogul Gordon 'Butch' Stewart on Tuesday saluted both local and overseas investors in Jamaica, giving them credit for their commitment to the island, and pointed out that were it not for the current level of bureaucracy, investment levels as well as job creation would be higher.
"I take off my hat to a lot of the guys who have been successful, who have been able to manoeuvre through the red tape and the problems and the confusion and the finger-pointing at times and still manage to come out on top," Stewart told business leaders and journalists at a news conference at the Observer's headquarters in Kingston to launch this year's Observer Business Leader Awards.

An artist’s impression of the over-water suites that will be constructed at Sandals Grande St Lucian.

Stewart, who is chairman of the Observer, framed his comments against the background of what he saw as inadequate government policies over many years that have not helped local businesses to grow and contribute more to the economy by way of taxes, thus limiting the need for the country to borrow money.
He pointed out that if industries, for example manufacturing, agriculture, transport and tourism, did not get what they needed to grow and succeed, Jamaica on a whole cannot be competitive.
He gave as an example the efforts of his Sandals Resorts hotel chain to construct over-water suites in Jamaica, a development that would attract many more visitors to the island as that type of accommodation has been growing in popularity.
However, his efforts were frustrated and he turned to St Lucia where Sandals operates three resorts.
"I wanted Jamaica to be the first country in the Caribbean to have over-water suites. People are going to the Maldives and the Far East in droves to have a little suite over the water," he said.
"I try and try for four years, I get promises every month. But in 90 days' time in the country of St Lucia we start the construction of 30 over-water suites. The publicity that they are going to get as the first country in the Caribbean to get over-water suites is so immense that I can't tell you. The entire island is going to benefit. We tried and we have failed, but we are still trying, maybe Jamaica can be second.
"The point I am making, and it's not a tourism thing; every minister of government, if they do not go out of their way to work with people that have been successful — sector by sector — and develop good policies, we cannot get to the point where we don't need to borrow money to bridge our budget," said Stewart.
The Observer chairman was also adamant that the civil service must be challenged to find a way to smooth the process for investors, thereby resulting in less bureaucracy and a better working relationship.

They're still plantations on the beach.

You don't know your history. Read 'Persistent Poverty' and you will see how the plantation has been disguised.

People working as maids and cleaners can hardly expect to own a home on the wages offered. But they can continue without promotion and slave until they retire and still wind up being poor. That is the new slavery.

Anonymous one here you go again with your signature phrase " St Lucia is real idiot country"....

why would St Lucia encourage its businesses to expand overseas when it needs them for it self? ... you yourself indicated that unemployment is at the 20% level... we need the businesses to expand AND/ or foreign investors to invest here so that employment could be created and more people can get off the streets...

If the VOICE keep letting this one individual insult the ruling party and the St.Lucian people "St.Lucia is real idiot country" at every opportunity; I'll have to conclude that the VOICE is in collaboration with him and is nothing more than an anti-UWP newspaper that should be shutdown.

Here is another pro-UWP idiot. Only a Juke Bois or a disciple would dare to speak this load of horse manure.

If St. Lucian companies were able to expand overseas like US, UK, Trinidad and like some Bajan companies do in the US and in the UK besides St. Lucia, the country would benefit by earning foreign exchange.

I don't believe that they teach these kinds of things in the US Penitentiary.

Kenny tried to muzzle the press and he learned his lesson. Defeat and a fall in status overseas.

I take it that for the minimally intelligent that comprises much of the UWP Cabinet, that lesson went right over their heads!

Blogger #7, I agree with you. This or these filthy mind and mouth individuals are a blight on the Voice and St Lucia. I am not sure, however, whether these writers are evil of mentally unwell - maybe both? Apart from soiling St Lucia's image to the world, this filth and putting down of St Lucians is most destructive to the island's overall morale.
Here's a suggestion, as the Voice will not take them off, all of us should just IGNORE ANYTHING they write because all they really want is attention - like a screaming spoilt child.

My God! You must be a St. Lucian cabinet minister. Only someone totally ignorant of the value of trade, trade expansion, international trade, and the flow of profits from overseas subsidiary investments would ask such a foolish question like this.

St. Lucians do not know the first thing about international business. They have listened to Juke Bois too much. They now sound and behave like him. What a curse!

To Mr Hideous Idius ... ST LUCIANS ARE NOT IDIOTS!!!

Now stop maligning St Lucians lest I spank you.

To other bloggers - this "anonymous" blogger, uses the same words and sentences all the time; he insults people; offers no CONSTRUCTIVE criticism; this is why I have christened him "Mr Hideous Idius". He is NOT refreshing!!

Are we all agreed about the 'super-idiot' blogger (the last blog) and just to ignore him?

Pardon me Moniker blogger, I did not mean my last blog for you. It was for hideous idius and I will not capitalize his new name. I'm calling him 'super-idiot'.
I've asked bloggers to just ignore him like a screaming spoilt child because all he wants is some little attention which he feels he has never been given throughout his life. He's sour, and maybe with good reasons too. Poor guy.

You fool, that is why we have elections. If you don't like the Prime minister or the Foreign minister, vote them out in the upcoming elections.

If time is of the essence, go shot them, you fool.

Only idiots make fools of themselves by suggesting that anybody should shoot anybody. Brainless idiot!

Good heavens! This idiot is part of our problem.

The drug lord is wiping out some in the drug trade. Our murder rate is highest per capita in the region UNDER THE UWP ship of fools someone said.

Why do have to sound like Juke Bois, Rick, Tim and Guy all in one package?

Sad. Like it or not. Truth be told.

St. Lucia is really idiot country.
