Are there more lunatics at large than in an asylum?

I support Assange, he scares stupid, ego-inflated, low-class wicked politicians.

Mr. Chastanet:

I have the utmost respect for you as the most powerful and successful businessman in St. Lucia. In your articles you seem to be more concerned about what is happening overseas rather than with our current situation in St. Lucia. The answer to your question is, YES. There is a new breed of lunacy that has penetrated our ranks; these crooks and criminals occupy the highest offices in the land. Now that I have answered your question, I pose my question to you, what do you think about the Stephenson King administration?

Yes, indeed, the first lunatic at large right here in St. Lucia, is Michael Chastanet and his son, Allen Chastanet.

With such a low population like St. Lucia's his supermarkets have made untold millions in such a short space of time. What madness.

The Organization of Eastern Caribbean States Court of Appeals Ruling of Allen Chastanet as being a liar and a crook accomplice, places him on the definition listing of Lunatics At Large right here in Ole Helen.

Sorry, I meant to say, Luna-crook, at large, and not luna-tic.

Chastanet:

After reading your emotional-hyperbolic rant I have concluded that you suffer from some unique form of mental illness and in urgent need of psychiatric medication. To label Assange a lunatic is synonymous to Pharaoh calling Moses crazy. Assange’s publishing of government cables and exercising his RIGHT to freedom of speech, while enabling the public to acquire the knowledge of what their elected leaders are doing in their names falls nothing short of HEROIC. Saint Lucia now has its own Assange in the person of Ausbert D’Auvenge. Exposing Wars-of-aggression, murder of civilians, torture of captives etc. should be applauded; instead Michael you condemn and label such magnanimous actions as INSANITY? Who is the NUT here?

Some Nuts like you in the USA and Canada have called for the assassination of Assange even though the man has broken NO laws, and the US State Department admits no one has been physically harmed by the revelations of the crimes committed by their government.

Assange now fears that he will be killed and has stated that if any harm is visited upon his person information even more damaging – Illegal banking activity by the Bank of America, and murders committed at Guantanamo Bay etc., will be made public.

Columbia University’s School of International and Political Affairs instructed its students not to inquire into the WikiLeaks revelations as such action might endanger their chances of employment with the government, only to make a reversal when Dean John H. Coatsworth decided that free speech was paramount. Dean Coathsworth wrote:
“Freedom of information and expression is a core value of our institution. Thus, the Columbia University’s School of International and Political Affairs position is that students have a right to discuss and debate any information in the public arena that they deem relevant to their studies or to their roles as global citizens, and to do so without fear of adverse consequences.”
But you Michael Chastanet would enjoy nothing better than to keep Lucians dumb and ignorant. You obviously have never set foot or opened your mouth in Constitution Park, and thank God the Voice has the courage to publish your deranged rants.

"To maintain an opinion because it is thine, and not because it is true, is to prefer thyself above the truth."

Will you change your opinion Michael?

This article is fraught with various meanings and interpretations depending on who is reading it. This article, to me is beautifully written and my interpretation is simple--it is an intelligent and beautiful depiction of this current government.Someone with great analytical skills will see the same.

Mr. Chastanet can't destroy a party with his son serving in the hierarchy especially if the party can make a huge comeback with his son Chastanet, Janine and others. But he still recognizes that this current group of men is nothing more than pure lunatics posing as leaders but stifling the life out of Helen.

As with Anonymous after Son of Man, I also wish to give some deeper analysis to Michael's piece, but there is no room on the Blog for much depth. Suffice it to say that I should like to echo Son of Man's question to Michael which followed this truism: "To maintain an opinion because it is thine, and not because it is true, is to prefer thyself above the truth." Then the question was: "Will you change your opinion Michael?" Indeed Michael, as someone who writes to St. Lucians, you should hopefully be willing to condescend a bit and publicly respond to Son of Man's very reasonable and highly intelligent question. I'll be looking for your response also! Folks please observe in all of this that Assange does not invent stories, he simply releases historically recorded material. Like Marley reminded us, "who the cap fits, let them wear it." I believe that those who wish to see Assange dead, are those who do not, or cannot appreciate, what the struggle has been like, and continues to be, for the poor and marginalized of this world, to be able to exercise freedom of speech and conscience. Isn't it Interesting that a lunatic like George Bush can sleep in peace on his ranch in Texas, yet so many supposedly responsible leaders and policymakers would call for Julian Assange's head? And as to the question about whether there are more lunatics outside rather than inside the many "Golden Hope" centers of our world, the answer is simple: Just visit the Bush ranch in Texas!!! Peter Lansiquot.
