Wow I remember reading your notes when I was home and thoroughly enjoying it. I was over the moon when I saw it here last month been 9 years without it. Amazing article the reason God has blessed St.Lucia is because of past sufferings! Then again if a writer wrote about our island he would suggest ways to return to our former glory. Selling ourselves to the highest bidders should stop. Too much of our island is going to foreign investments, all Lucians can come together and collectively buy land or a hotel! We have far too many hotels on the island, people come to escape the big city and we try to sell ourselves as if we are! At the end of the year I am returning to my homeland because despite all the wrong Helen is sweet and there is no place I WOULD RATHER BE!

VICTOR REMEMBER TO SAY A COLLECT,BEFORE TITHING.

Again. you have elucidated the state of social and economic decay that have gripped the island vividly. The narration is native, eye and ear opening; reflective and conscience searching. Wordsworth would gladly have added this line to the piece - Is it easy to lament what man has done to man -
Great work. Count yourself among those who cry and sigh for abominations done in the city.

St. Lucia is overwhelmingly a Christian nation. This is true, because forcing religion on slaves was the best way to keep them in check.

St. Lucia is not a Christian nation. There are people who believe in Christ, but terribly lacking in the knowledge of the scriptures, and the majority don't live up to the life of a Christian. They cuss, drink too much alcohol, take drugs, commit adultery, participate in witchcraft, etc. etc. all under the watchful eyes of the catholic church.

First of all Victor let me commend you on a well re-written piece of fiction. I'll call it, from the Bible to Vic's modern day verison of Sodom and Gomorrah! What you failed to state though is that we got that way because we consciously chose to copy the ways of those foreign to us who realyy have no interest in our well being. Then we have some demonic politicians calling themselves champions of the people who are saturating our lives with everything evil. This is not Reigion...this is fact. The bottom line is that we do not know ourselves, we do not chosse to know who we are and we "Believe." That is the crux of our demise. Christianity is the propagation of the work and ways of the devil and thos weho "believe" are followers of the devil. We are set on achieveing everything that is materialistic, ignoring that which is spiritual. No amount of Sunday mornings or Saturday mornings bashings will save us. There is no escaping....and going to Martinique on a row boat ain't saving you either. First, we got to get out from under that spell called religion and seek RIGHT KNOWLEDGE..that is the first step. Let us stop embracin the myt that there is a Being in Heaven punsihing us for our sins. We are the very ones creating our problems. We seek physical things and that is what happens when you live in, within and for the physical realm only. Sounds far fetched, but it's the truth. We are already in Hell so there is nne greater than which we have created for ourselves. Yes, St Lucia is in Chaos right now because there are those of us who strive to keep it that way. Our young people who are involved in all these evil behaviors are simply following what they are taught to do through our own disobedience. They did not get up one morning and said let is steal, kill and plunder. Those before them, taught them how and they learned well. The thing is, most of us will turn to pillars of salt. To those who have nothin to lose, when quit following the masses, we will be saved from the utter destruction that is to come. That is not Religion...that is truth! factoring Jesus into our lives has only worked for a few who have the tendency to look down on the rest of us as vermin, only fit for estermination. Christianity is not the answer, it never was, and it never will be! Come on now Vic. Take Christianity and religion out of the equation give us Reasoning...take the myths out ad give us RIGHT KNOWLDGE...Take out the Lies and give us TRUTH! Take out te ignorance and give us WISDOM and then we will surely see a difference! Give our children the RIGHT answers to their many questions and we'll see changed young men and women, no longer under the bondage of Christianity. And if you are assuming that I am some sort of religious individual, the response is "NO." I detest religion and everythig that closely resembles it with a passion that knows no bounds. Think Vic, Fre and brimstone is alrady raining upon us.

It was Marcus Garvey who said, "If the negro is not careful he will drink in all the poison of modern civilization and die from the effects of it."
St Lucia is just getting a taste of their need to belong to the wider world. That is what we traded for our simpleness and for all that was natural to us....hence the effects of the poisons of modern civilization.
