It strange that you have not laid the blame on this admin for the present state of the industry. I understand that u were on a team which recommended that the admin invest funds in treating the black sick. They have yet to respond to the report. Over to you Peter.

Looking at this through the value added perspective (if you are producing something for which consumers see no value-added you should not produce it), if you are producing something for which:

(a) There is a declining market
(b) Your competitors are producing at much lower cost per unit than you are
(c) You fail to see that in terms of product life cycle that you are in a decline phase -- over the growth plateau, and
(d) You (as an industry) are still failing to find alternative or new uses (repackaging, re-branding, forward and backward inter-company integration, or new markets) for your product,

Then you will finally wake to the fact that you will be facing not only unsustainable losses but extinction!
