CABINET SWEARING-IN TODAY

Already we are seeing the accelerated fall of St. Lucia.

Beside the $100 million to supposedly create jobs( which will mostly be in the non-productive public sector) Kenny Anthony is now promising millions for STEP programs for Christmas that will only go towards consumer spending. He has already called for the increase in Government departments.

Our national debt is $2.6 billion. By the time Kenny's term is over it will be $3.3 to $3.5 billion or 80% of GDP.

Interest payments at that stage will take up at least 10% of the National budget - over $100 million annually. Money that cannot be used for real national development.

Our recurrent expenses mostly for civil servants is already over $400 million annually.

The left wing Kenny in collusion with the left leaning public unions will move to increase Big Government. This is what socialists do and in the process bankrupt St. Lucia and kill productivity as they increase regulations on the business class.

Exect also this Cabinet to push for gay and lesbian (so-called) rights, continue the vulgar sexual trash we see on local tv, look to ways to increase abortion and trash the nuclear family and support single motherhood and the "feminization of poverty".

As a result we will have more crime, more perversion, more societal breakdown and more fiscal indescipline.

They will then call for more government to tack these symptons of the abandonment of our Judeo Christian priniple with the same failed result as in 1997-2006. They will then spend hundreds of millions more with the same lack of progress in our society.

a leopard cannot change its spots and this is all these socialist/liberals know.

As to why would tourist dependent St.Lucians choose clueless Lorne Theophilus over Allen Chastenet to be their tourism minister is a mystery to me.
God, help us all.

Anonymous said...

Lorne as tourism minister ? What the hell ?

GOD, Bless St Lucia and the Labour Party team. Give the understanding, knowledge and fore-sight to do what is right for St Lucia.

My, my...what a team our Prime Minister, Honourable Kenny Anthony announced. Bright, young, educated people (with fresh ideas, hopefully).

CONGRATULATIONS, OUR NEWLY FORMED GOVERNMENT.

#2, who brought our National Debt to $2.6 billion?...

What did the UWP did with the billions borrowed? I want you, Anon.#2, to show me or tell me of one major project implemented from start to finish with those billions - not Taiwanes short-termed TiCanals project?

What ever he called for are for the benefit of St Lucia - not for a selected few.

Have you ever asks yourself where did Rufus Bosquet took the money from to purchase a $2.2 million dollars condo at the Landings? Surely, his ministerial salary could not have serviced a loan of that magnitude, could it?

Tha massive Oak Tree in your eyes you cannot see, but you are able to see a grain of sea sand in someone else's eyes, right!!

The above is for you, Anon.#!...goes for you too, #2.

It is becoming increasingly amusing watching a failing 3rd world economy and society as it stumbles and crawls up and mostly down the slope of development led by increasingly irrelevant socialist/liberal politicians, academics and media pundits.

The Caribbean is 15 years behind Europe and the USA yet these developing countries are faltering under the weight of the liberal/progressive agenda from the mid 20th century.

Incompetent liberal academics/politicians like those leading the SLP and other Caribbean political parties keep dumbing down the electorate, increasing the size of government and their power and rule like lords over failing societies.

In the 1960s Singapore wanted to be follow the Jamaica model. In the 21st century Singapore wants to run away as far as possible from the indecipline, increasingly single mother , broken family mode of the Caribbean.

It matters not who the SLP put in as Ministers. They will all fail because of their philosophy. What matters for the more and more irrelevant Caribbean on the world stage is the alternatives.

Anonymous said...

Rather than wish for the betterment of St Lucia and pray for the success of our elected members of parliament, here you are, prophet of doom, with your logic of "socialist/liberal politicians " crap...who cares, (well maybe I do, since I am responding) with your opinion?

On 28th November, 2011, the St Lucian electorate spoke - they gave the Labour Party a mandate of 11-6 to governed for the next five years.

If what you alluded to is correct, then come next election we shall vote them out - and you tell me what shall we replace them with come next election!

You do, of course; realise that this is the beginning of the end of the political party's name, United Workers Party---they are done, gone, finished, disappear, extinct, FINI...

Anonymous said...

"The Caribbean is 15 years behind Europe and the USA...."
-------------------------------------------------------------
Are you saying that St.Lucia is, today, where Europe and the USA were in 1996? Man, we are not even where America was in 1896; so stop making up stories.

Anonymous said...

Because the SLP are already guaranteed failure dosen't mean the UWP is any better. Of course after Sir John the UWP was taken over by vulgar criminals in some cases.

King on TV last night was a disgrace acting as if he is going to be accused of all kinds of "infilicities". He doth protest too much and you wonder what he has to hide. The UWP have a right to go to court on the GI and Babonneau seats but his rant on the other issues was crazy.

Because one is bad does not mean the other is good.

Both are failures.
The only competent leader we have had was Sir John George Melvin Compton.

Pls stop regurgitating impotent rightwing american political rhetoric. the aforementioned is symptomatic of anal retention.

Anonymous said...

Anal retention? Who does this mirror/ The St. Lucia Labour Party or the United Workers Party?

Anonymous said...

Given Emma Hipployte's background in the St. Lucia Civil Service, she would have been much more effective as a Minister of the Public Service.

Peolpe like James Fletcher is just old fish that stinks.

If he is so competent, one would have thought he would provide his so-called competencies at the OECS.

The more things change, the more they remain the same.

Mr. Stanley Felix could have been better as Attorney General. At least I suspect he is quite familiar with the operations of the . white collar crime the country now faces.

The more things change, the more they remain the same.

Civil servants are already spewing venom with that announcement of James Fletcher. He was downright disrespectful and bloated in the rear. Not impressed.

The person/blogger who is speaking about pushing for gays and lesbians, and abortions, what is wrong with equal rights, justice and opportunity for all, regardless of sexual orientation or otherwise?

It is people like you, hypocrite, that are fathering 10 children with 10 different women, and are unabling to provide the mere basics for these kids, farless loving and emotional support - yes, your idea of a nuclear family, ad neaseaum.

Your types makes me sick to my stomach!!

Sure is good that some of you anonymous jokers have finally found your voice after being silent when the country was previously being raped by King and his gang. Now you all see it fit to become prophetic. Where were you when every single man who won and lost was given a Ministry in the UWP cabinet? Where were you when Foreign Affairs was moved to the expensive Baywalk mall? Where were you when the dilapidated Daher building was purchased? Really where were you when recurrent expenditure leaped and bounced under the last government. But alas people like you have become wise overnight. Keep it up my dear friends because if anything you will push this competent team to work even harder.

Anonymous said...

I very much concur with you, above. Indeed, where were they when the country was being raped, abused, scandalized, robbed, victimized and battered in BIG BROAD DAY LIGHT, IN FULL VIEW OF E V E R Y O N E, by the former goverment. There was a collective silence.

Now they're all crawling from the rocks they were under - why don't they simply crawl back and stopped making those hissing noises that annoys everyone.

If they are not happy with the appointments, then TOOFAY!

you know what i realise that ex PM KING looks good in the opposition .. finally he got a position that suits him and i wish he stays there for the balance of his political life. ON another note i wont delve too much into the new cabinet team i think as with any new job or any promotional tasks afforded new employess in that case slp gov ministers there is a testing of the waters eventually right ppl will fit the positions best suited for them.. its my opinion that too often the case those who won seats are always given ministries we should stop that .. i am certain there might be some innovative and brilliant lucians overseas who can contribute to economic savviness and bright new ideas

Better Days Ahead said...

oh i wanted to share my view on the anonymous'' who suggested that st lucia is only 15 yrs behind .. well u know what BARBADOS IS 25 YRS ahead of st lucia .. not necessarily in infastructure .. but in social, economic, educational, tourism, PATRIOTISM,what else i am missing .. well they do have more malls and shopping options than us.. keep in mind barbados is trying to attain FIRST WORLD STATUS IN 2020 so if barb is so far ahead of us then what of TRINIDAD who has the answer pls share it..lol

Were you there? When we exposed the nastiness that passed for governments, over and over again? Were you there when we took a stand against victimization, and the rest shut up their CHOOS for fear of losing daily breads? Were you there when we said no to corruption and dishonesty in Government, and the rest shut their CHOOS up?

Were you there. Shut up your choo.

And The Beat Goes On! Can't anyone on this blog have a civilized discussion without attacking each other?

I'm not a Labar and I probably never will be. I'm embarassed by the lack of leadership of UWP...they probably got what they deserved...OOps! Did I just say that :) As much as I despise Kenny and Tony, I wish his administration well. If they fail, we will all feel it worse than the last few years.

To those of you who doubt Lorne, need I remind you of Menissa Rambally? If she can do it so can Lorne. Although I never for a second thought that she called the shots. I trust Lorne will do a lot better than her as long he doesn't allow the power to get to his head. I can totally see him representing us well.

Anonymous said...

Man you people are plain MEAN! VULGAR! UNCIVILIZED! RUDE! UNCOUTH! REPULSIVE! WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE! UGH!

Anonymous said...

Lorne Theophilus as Minister of Tourism? Seriously? Allen Chastanet is credible and well educated - now what?

It is hard to believe that Kenny Anthony, for all of his experience and acumen, has put St Lucia's primary revenue generator between the hands of so naive a man.

St Lucia's people deserve better leadership... The future doesn't look good given the immense challenges to be faced.

St Lucia will rue the day this government was voted in to a background of thunder and lightning...

Blogger of December 06,4.21pm. Are you for real? Can there be anything worst that the United Workers Party AKA United Wreckers of the Poor?

Come on, when the OECS High Court placed for Public Record the dishonesty and filth that passed as Government between December 11,2006 and December 28,2011, no one needs to find out anything else.

The TUXEDO VILLAS SCANDAL was unprecedented and the most debasing event in the civilized world, except maybe when compared to the most corrupt places in Africa, such as Nigeria.

I hold no brief for SLP and Kenny Anthony but the UWP wasn't a Government.

Some Scoundrels placed together by John Compton, to fan the ego of himself and his wife, and as expected, for putting St. Lucia, in that situation, he died like a manicou.

A few reasons why St. Lucians kicked out the Stephenson King Regime.

How about a comparison of new PM and old PM?

Here's how I see it:-

New PM - Leads from the front
Old PM - Leads from the rear.

Kenny - Thinks for himself
King - Thinks of himself

Kenny - Above average height
King - Above average Width

Kenny - Above average brain
King - Above average skull

Kenny - Looks elegant.
King - Looks like an elephant

Kenny - Reminds us of King David
King - Reminds us of King Kong.

Kenny - Highly educated
King - Hardly educated

Kenny - Abhors criminal behavior
King - rewards criminal behavior

Kenny - Inspires easily
King - Perspires easily (especially when climbing steps)

Kenny - Committed to the Star (Labour Party)
King - Committed to the Star (Newspaper)

Kenny - Got married before he became PM.
King - Got married because he became PM.

Kenny - Contributed to Caribbean unity.
King - Contributed to NIC (except for the 9 years he was unemployed)

Kenny - His close aide (Pip) executes his duties responsibly.
King - His close aide (R.F.) executes his opponents.

Kenny - Associated with leadership.
King - Assoc. with lead-A-Sheep.

Kenny - Should run again next term.
King - Should run away. Disappear.

A few reasons why St. Lucians kicked out the Stephenson King Regime.
-----------------------------------
I agree BPR.

A few reasons also why the loose the elections is because of Richard Frederick.

Stephenson King choose to embraced a known drug-lord; danced with him, sang with him, campaigned with him, him on his political platform, while the American State Department were quickly distancing themselves from the Stephenson King's administration by revoking Richard Frederick's personal and diplomatic visas.

I heard that King is challenging the results of some constituencies - let him come, Kenny and his educated lots are waiting for this simpleton, this imbecile.

So to you, uwpees, blame your King for embracing Richard Frederick.

1 & 2,,,Just 2 jackasses that are anti labour and anti St Lucian. Why don't you speak something positive instead of your usual typical UWP rhetoric? Does anybody really care about what you all think?
Michael Chastanet really believe the government want him to be their tourism consultant? He seems to be so bitter at his terrible loss that he has to go on tv and say how he turn down the government. What the government was attempting to do is to avoid him spending the rest of his days in a rum shop still miserable with himself for not being able to fool the people of Soufriere. Alas, the idiot was out smarted!

Anonymous said...

Did anyone watched HTS news this evening? How Kenny Anthony extended an Olive Branch for Stephenson King, and what is quickly becoming extinct - the UWP and how Stephenson King, as an immature, spoilt little child turned the Prime Minister down? How childish, immatured, self centered, arrogant, self disrespecting as an opposition leader; could that be!!

Just SMH in dis-belief! What a fool!

OXO said...

Very well said BPR. I need not say more. Thoroughly enjoyed reading your submission and give it the thumbs up!

Anonymous said...

The only job that Allen Chastanet should get from the Gov't is the job of one the persons he fired in Soufriere. Then the government should turn round and fire him. His defeat would therefore be complete. the results at the polls alone was not enough.

Anonymous said...

The UWP lost the Election as Sarah Flood Beaubrun said on Hot Button Issue last night, because the leadership refused to address key issues such as the Fredericks visa revocation. Had King shown leadership then the UWP would have won. Fredericks almost lost his seat and he brought down Mayers and Montoute. Fredericks should have not run the seat and spent the time clearing up his visa issue.

Chastanet was right in turning down the consultancy offer( if it indeed was made) as it really was an insult. You are asking a former recently defeated Minister of Tourism with 25 years of tourism experience to go under a Minister with zero, nada, zilch tourism experience who besides appears to have serious question marks around his character. By any measure this is an insult and not made in good faith. What they should have done if serious (and I think this is a ruse) is say that they will seek advice from Chastanet over the course of their Administration. What arrogance and contempt!

I am concerned about this. It may indicate that the conciliatory approach from the SLP may just be a fraud and a ruse to put the citizens off so that when the victimization begins they can say: " Oh no -see we offered King security guards and Chastanet a job !!"

Only time will tell. Maybe King's attack on the SLP indicates he is aware that the socialist purge is coming !! That must be the advise that Kenny is going down to get from Raul Castro in Trinidad.

SCREW THE FAMILY LET US ALL GO GAY

St. Lucia's new self proclaimed first lady has come to St. Lucia to fulfill her gay, abortion, same sex marriage agenda just like hillary Clinton below. Watch as the SLP Administration signs all agreements to increase the rights of gays , bisexuals and transgender lifestyles.

Hillary's Surreal State Department

She discovers a new global right.

Hillary Clinton was once seen as a radical busybody, clamoring for this or that absurd invented right, such as the right of children to sue their parents. Now she is seen as a safe establishment figure. But the truth is that she hasn't changed. She is still a radical scold. Back in the days of the Clinton presidency she pushed the world to embrace an INTERNATIONAL RIGHT TO ABORTION. These days her ambition is to impose upon all the nations of the earth "Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender" rights.

Hillary's State Department is even more radical; it seeks to turn the world into San Francisco.

In an address earlier this week in Geneva, Hillary announced that the imposition of the GAY AGENDA on foreign governments now forms "a priority of our foreign policy." It is not enough for the Obama administration to corrupt America; it has to corrupt the whole world too. Hillary has instructed diplomats to stir up trouble abroad as de facto gay rights activists.

"In Washington, we have created a task force at the State Department to support and coordinate this work. And in the coming months, we will provide every embassy with a toolkit to help improve their efforts. And we have created a program that offers emergency support to defenders of human rights for Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender people."

The American taxpayer will also have to pay for a gay rights propaganda fund Hillary has set up: "I am also pleased to announce that we are launching a new Global Equality Fund that will support the work of civil society organizations working on these issues around the world. This fund will help them record facts so they can target their advocacy, learn how to use the law as a tool, manage their budgets, train their staffs, and forge partnerships with women's organizations and other human rights groups. We have committed more than $3 million to start this fund, and we have hope that others will join us in supporting it."

Thus will the State Department make the world safe for sex-change operations and gay marriage.

Of course we all who do the research know that the LGBT agenda is one by socialists/liberals to destroy marriage and the nuclear family.

Even as more and more research that the liberal press is supressing and refusing to report, shows that the breakdown of the African American communities is BECAUSE of the liberal policies to destroy the family.

TAIWAN MONEY NOT GOING TO SLP MPs

The new SLP MPS better realize that the $1 million per constitutiency is no longer going to them. The leadership of the SLP like money too much that is why it was a joke to say that Emma would have been Min of Finance.

Kenny will want control of ALL the money from the Taiwanese. He may give the MPs a little kakadan like $50,000 out of the $1 million. It will be interesting to see what the final configuration will be. Expect that neither will it ALL go into the consolidated Fund as Kenny was bleating about for 5 years when he attacked Chou.

And why is the local media not taking up on the fact that Kenny met with the Taiwanese BEFORE the elections and promised them he was staying with that island nation ? Yet he has been saying from Nov 28th that he is still making up his mind!

Anonymous said...

Above, you sounded disappointed, bitter and angry.

As long as the monies are not going to the likes of Frederick, Bosquet, Mondersir, Guy Joseph, etal, that's fine by me.

YOu sounded angry and bitter thay your cut of these Taiwanese money is no more...ha ha ha!! GO FIND REAL J O B - and stop the crying.

With Kenny, St Lucia will see what is being done with the money; unlike the past UWP ministers, except Janine Compton.

You could cry until you bleed blood instead of tear. Get use to it and rest assured Kenny and Labour will be there for a long, long, long time.

The party of progress is here to stay. The Configuration of the House should be modified a bit to include persons who work and struggle through Constituency campaigning with little resources. I am totally opposed to Dr. Long serving as Deputy Speaker...this is a man with great potential where health is concerned. I am opposed to Dr. Ubaldus Raymond serving as Parliamentary Secretary...although he lost his seat but this is a qualified and experienced Economist who could have served St. Lucia better. The position given to Fletcher should have been given to Dr. Raymond. I believe it is time that we give up on hierachical and small island mentalities. St. Lucians must realize that because someone worked in the OECS it qualifies them for positions in government.

Anonymous said...

Dissapointed, bitter and angry ? How quaint when the ignorant learn big words to use.

No - I am aware, intelligent and not deluded like you. It is no sweat off my back because I am used to putting down words on paper in a logical manner.

So with the Rochamel and Grynsberb affairs Kenny did not tell his colleagues what he had done. Now he has confirmed a fundamental issue like staying with Taiwan but had not conferred with hid colleague candidates(Who are now MPS) when he told Chou he was staying with Taiwan. Kenny and Tony. You get the same person you voted for in 1997.

Kenny promise $100 million for jobs(government of course!), millions for STEP, more Government Departments to take care of jobs and the Tomas aftermath. So with no money in the bank Kenny is expanding government so he can hire more of his liberal socialist friends from UWI. More Kenny, more Tony.

Anonymous said...

It is my hope that the leadership of this government will seek to achieve a team approach (Team Labour) to achieve its goals for progress. MP's should be part and parcel of the decision-making. Dr. Anthony hopefully will learn from his mistakes and not take major decisions without consulting his colleagues. Like the other Blogger, I think that Dr. Raymond should be considered for a Ministry not a Parliamentary position because this is a man of great potential. Dr. Long should be considered for the Ministry of Health. Splitting of the Ministry of health, Family and Gender Affairs would help solve the problem. Ms. Reynolds is a great asset to St.Lucia and should head the Min. of family and Gender Affairs so her expertise can be seen as well.

Anonymous said...

Garson you all must stop that nonsence and you all pappyshow about Kenny did things without letting his MPs know about it. It's time we start thinking for ourselves and stop repeating the lies and deception of politicians. Cabinet meetings are CONFIDENTIAL that meams the politicians take an oath to keep secreate everything that is discussed there. So how can somebody come on this board pretending to know what Kenny did or did not discuss with his MPs?

Anonymous said...

Garcon, Cabinet will be meeting soon where the oath will be taken. The decisions taken was taken in Cabinet...there is no secrecy at least not yet. The decisions of the Cabinet configuration were taken by the PM solo. But again, remember what the PM said the configuration of the Cabinet is "for now". In my interpretation, I think that Kenny Anthony is smart individual who will make a better decision about Dr.Long and Dr. Raymond at the next house reshuffle. I am confident about this, and we need to wait until that time when Dr. Anthony will make the right decision in that regard.

Anonymous said...

Correction...the decision was not taken in Cabinet...

Anonymous said...

You see the samething again, stop making yourself look stupid. What cabinet decision configuration that was taken by the PM solo? Where did you get your information from? Were you ever at a cabinet meeting? You pretend to have all the answers, about the PM cabinet. Have you spoken to the PM or Pep as to why he Pep prefer not to hold a ministry? Do you really believe Dr Raymond cannot make a meaning contribution together with Emma with his position? They cannot have two ministers holding the same potfoilios(spelling) in the same ministry, hence the reason one had to be named perliamentary secretary. So don't worry Dr Raymond will be alright.

Anonymous said...

For those persons who are concerned about Dr. Raymond, please remember he is a true professional who will do well in any ministerial position.I think that Dr. Anthony recognizes that Dr. Raymond is an asset to our country no doubt about that.

The people of Castries will rally with Dr. Raymond to ensure that he brings Castries North in the bossom of the Labour Party once and for all. We desperately need a man of his calibre in government not King. Castries North loves Dr. Raymond and that's why we gave King the fight of his life. Castries North is ready to choose this man of ability and man of the soil at the next general election...God's willing.
