St. Lucia is still waiting for some PhDs in economics and real discussion in the market square for any real change of attitude to happen regarding the structural factors that continue to plague its economy.

DWIGHT MUST NOW GO FOR ANY RESTRUCTURING IN THE ECCU.

HE HAS LONG OUTDONE HIS USEFULNESS.

THERE IS A CRY THROUGHOUT THE ECCU FOR FRESH AND THE CENTRAL BANK FOR NEW BOLLD AS GOVERNOR.

I agree, for some time now, there has been a clear call throughout the ECCU and the Central Bank itself for fresh face and new blood in the positions of Governor and Deputy Governor.

Large Egoes are destroying the rest of us. these two men must now bow out, or be kicked out, sooner rather than later, if any good is to come.

there isn't much respect in these quarters.

The last two commentators don't know a fart about central banking. No issue has been raised or pointed regarding any technical failure on the part of the Governor. Just the usual BS senseless comments are emerging here. These two idiots are asking for change for changing sake.

Anonymous #1:True the country requires some development planners with the PhD degree to lead discussion and take the appropriate action to effect change. Yet, based on my personal experience, those who have already attained this level of education and those who have not but are already placed in key decision making position, fight hard to block aspirants. Tell me how do you resolve this problem?

Our main problem is that we have in the Caribbean a liberal "elite" who follow the dictates of their counterparts who are only looking after themselves in the developed world and the major cross national entities like the EU, UN and OAS.

These liberals in order to destroy the family structure which is the main building block of our Judeo Christian civilization promote all anti -family policies - gay marriage, abortion, feminism, victimhood.

The reason is by destroying the family they can present their liberal class as the "savior" of us all.
In the meantime they draw big salaries, perks and lifestyles and forget about the people in their islands.

Instrad of concentrating on the REAL issues affecting our people like indescipline, lack of productivity, sexual freeness, no sense of personal responsibility they concentrate on the issues that destroy our people as mandated by their liberal/progressive white masters who have trained them from the time they entered school.

the Venner's, the Kenny's the Vaughn.s the Beckles - when you add them all up have advanced us nowhere.

Sir Dwight Venner has been sporting that Afro since 1969.
I personally think he should take it all off LOL.

Man, what's wrong with your darn brains? What does an Afro have to do with management of the strategic direction of the ECCU OR central bank? Idiat!

Blogger of February 29, 2012 at 8.42PM . You hit the nail right on the head. The Dwight Venners put their yard fowls who really are mere farts in key positions to carry out their whims and fancies. And if you don't lie down, they block you.

They need to get rid of those useless farts.

The Governments of the Region must as a matter of urency, move to stop the positions of those guys at these Regional Institutions into " perpetuity". Like the OECS, the CARICOM and the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank. These wretches just collect their gigantic salaries, travel the world infintum, perks upon perks, attain false knighthoods and we in the region, just get piss in our eyes, and they call it rain.

That is exactly why we in these islands are as backward as the 1960's.

The UWI has done us a great injustice putting out those psyches

I do not need to know one rat's arse about Central Banking to measure Dwight Venner's impact on the Region wellbeing, since John Compton thrusted him at the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank some twenty-two years ago.

As one blogger said, after twenty-two years now you coming with restructuring.

Now the IMF let you know the financial system is at high risk?

What is that suppose to tell us in this Region.

As far as I am concerned Dwight Venner is an abject failure, and has left no good mark at the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank.

The Central Bank saw some of its best professional staff carrying out a mass exodus.

In the view of many, who has come and gone,His dictatorial style, which smacks of a low self-esteem has not been welcomed at the Central Bank for years.Nor are the "personal levels" appreciated.
