The Regis /Government Court Case

Micah, I agree with you that the issue is not the name of the post to which Regis was transferred but whether the procedures for transfers in the Public Service were followed by the previous Government. However, I do not agree that there is a fundamental difference between the roles and responsibilities of a Director and an adviser, as technically all Directors and Permanent Secretaries are advisers to their Ministers and to the Cabinet. The issue for me is the sudden improvement in Regis's health with the change in Government and his success in the Courts.

Ausbert Regis is shameless, and hopeless. If he has what it takes to hold that post, why hasn't Kenny Anthony done the right thing, according to the Courts decision to send him back?

Because the Police officers are anxiously waiting to welcome him back?

Kenny Anthony, will soon learn a devastating lesson, not too long from now.

The leader of the Oppsitin must insist that Kenny tell the Nation why he now feels Regis should not, and cannot go back to the Police Force.

Saint Lucia is seen as being in SHIT STREET, both here and overseas, with Regis as Naional Security Advisor. Is he now being groomed to take over from La Corbiniere?

Interesting days ahead. And by the way, where is Fregis? Interesting days are ahead for Kenny Anthony, as the Prime Minister and leader of the St. Lucia Labour Party.

Kenny does not have the gravitas among who matters for advancement and growth in Saint Lucia.

Yes indeed Kenny will soon get his wake up call.

This is the kind of fracas that happens when people play politics with positions that should not be politicized. The King administration may not have followed proper procedures in their attempt to remove Regis as head of the police department, but isn't it plain to See that Regis is playing politics. Why is he now accepting the position? (Forget about the change of name. Why isn't he demanding to reinstated as police commissioner as ruled by the courts? Is it because the Kenny Anthony administration also sees him as unsuited for the post?

By the way was he sick at all? The entire nation knows that the man was never sick. The frustrating thing in all this is that it is costing the poor people of St.Lucia exorbitant sums of money.

Yes blogger above, exhorbitant sums indeed. The position is exactly as that provided by the last Government. As Director of Special Initiatives he was well aware that he would be advising the Government on matters of National Security?

The thing is, Regis is not suited for that poition. First of all, we must remember how he got into the Police Force. It was political as well, under John Compton.

Then he changed to Labour in 2006. Then he fell out with Labour in 2007.

Then he made up with Labour again when STEPHENSON KING AND MORNEDAYZORD, GAVE HIM THE TRASH BIN.

There is absolutely no confidence in the ability, credibility etc of Ausbert Regis anywhere as so-called National Security Advisor. Kenny is wasting tax-payer's money and we gain nothing.

Regis was contended being on his farm, and farming. But as Stephenson King said, that is all about pay back time. Kenny and Regis knows quite well, what these two have done together.

But very soon everything will be out. And Kenny will have no where to hide.

Stephenson King, leader of the Opposition, must, on behalf of the rest of us, here in St. Lucia, at the next sitting of Parliament and during discussions at the Budget Debate on the estimates of expenditure, demand from Kenny Anthony an explanation as to why he has not returned Ausbert Regis to the post as Commissioner of Police.

But is instead now paying two salaries, that is to say, the cost of twelve thousand dollars plus allowances being paid a a Commissioner and this new post of Security Advisor, at a similar level of expenditure plus perks.

Kenny Anthony has politicized that position to the detriment of the Police Force and we St. Lucians.

He is certainly going to get his just rewards. Deception and decit are Kenny Anthony's hallmarks.

Yes, Stepehenson King must demand answers from the SLP administration. He must also provide answers about how much money was given by the Taiwanese and how that money was spent.

I am no fan of Regis, but remember people, the man sat at a meeting with members of the former administration to plan a strategy to combat crime a few days before that transfer letter was delivered to him and he was given no indication of that decision. Also he had made several recomendations which were not considered during his tenure but as soon as he was taken out were done. Tell me now, How many of you would want to work with people who treat you that way?
