A call for self reliance!.......

None of the PMs has ever ever demonstrated by action this idea of self-reliance. John Compton took us through his idea of independence on the back of a protective banana market and the promise of financing for a road. He made St. Lucians look like prostitutes selling their wares at low prices. Where was the self-reliance my friend?

If you want to inculcate self-reliance as a way of life, i.e., culturally speaking the leader of the country has to do it. You can't expect to beat people on the head with an idea when your are not practicing it yourself, and when you are not rewarding it as a routine and as a norm that you want to see repeated.
