I respect the decision of the Cancer Society but Dr Bristol, you will be surprised to find out how many other produts on supermarkets'shelves do the same as the cigarettes.

This is very interesting, will Dr. Bristol stop shopping at the named supermarket as they continue to sell cigarettes.

HMM...this is a tricky one. I understand that accepting the money may seem a bit unethical, however; The Cancer Society must understand that not all cancers are as a result of smoking. If CFL wants to help, let them. At least they are making a conscious effort to assist those who really need the help and hopefully they are helping in good faith.

Quite of few other products on supermarket shelves can, and do, cause cancer, besides cigarettes ... namely MSG in some seasoning foods; some cosmetics have cancer bearing ingredients in them; alcohol causes liver disease; some people get addicted to nasal inhalers; I could go on and on ...

For Dr Bristol to refuse the funds raised only because of the sale of cigarettes by CFL is narrow minded and shallow - I expected better of him!

At least, the funds are still being channelled to cancer patients via another entity - THAT is a comfort.

A doctor who is so daft and obsolete on cancer research should not be part of the Cancer society. Smoking is hardly an issue in cancer diagnoses, as so many lung cancer patients never smoked a cigarette.

This Dr. Bristol is only looking out for himself, not in the interest of cancer patients. Please replace him FAST and accept the money from CFL with thanks!.
