We need to develop our Geothermal Electrical energy at Soufriere - it will produce more and cheaper electricity for St Lucia, as well as bring investors, and many jobs. The other smaller islands are already leaving us behind, whereas we started researching ours FIRST! LOL!
There are some concerns expressed in some quarters regarding earthquakes and reductions in pressure from geothermal resource utilization. Therefore, wind as an alternative energy resource should not be ignored.
A combination of wind, geothermal, fossils and hydro will be the ideal and its reachable.Sadly, at this stage, government seems to be hooked on personal greed and pays little or no concern for holistic national development.
Too long and too often do CEO's take us for a long, hairy ride.
Like Kenny Anthony, who gave himself and his Ministers a big, huge raise as soon as they took office, and never increased top Managers in the Civil Service for the ten plus years they were in office. What a shame. I have no respect for these rascals.
Since I was a little boy and thats a long time ago studies were done on Geo Thermal Engery. EXTENSIVE .Twice if I am not mistaken . So to now say we will be exploring the possibility ? Been also hearing the same thing since I was small so I expect I will die I wont see any such power generation.
It is high time that we place in office a smart Saint Lucian that will guide the monopolistic power company to getting households to wire their homes for 110-120 voltage power to take advantage of cheaper sources of household appliances.
Yes. That is besides nudging the power company to explore the buying back of surplus energy from those who would install their own wind turbines by incorporating them into the national grid.
Alternative energy is NOT being taken seriously by this and worse yet, that confounded group of morons, miscreants, and misfits that were voted out office last elections.
