Thanks for your kind words as usual, and my condolences goes out to the families who underwent this trial and tribulation. The Prophet Muhammad. Allah's Peace be upon Him, said( I paraphrase here): When one is afflicted with difficulty, he should look to his left side and will find some whose conditions are worse; then he should look to the right side and will find some whose conditions are better. Then he should thank Allah for his many blessings.

Tomorrow is guaranteed to no one, so be not a procrastinator, nor become complacent, being careful of what you do today. We are born into this life and given a fixed number of days, measured to the last second. When that time expires nothing can prolong it. It does not matter the age of a person ; from an hour old to a hundred years old, when your time comes, that's it.

There are things we were never taught in church and we should try to understand them. I know the Slave masters have permitted us to read the Bible But told us not to read the Qur-an, therefore I am including some verses from the “Forbidden Book” that remembering ears will remember. Please remember these instructions from the Owner of Creation, Allah ta-ala/The Exalted

Sura 57 - Al-Hadid (MADINA) : Verse 22

No misfortune can happen on earth or in your souls but is recorded in a decree before We bring it into existence: that is truly easy for Allah:


Sura 31 - Luqman (MAKKA) : Verse 34
Lo! Allah! With Him is knowledge of the Hour. He sendeth down the rain, and knoweth that which is in the wombs. No soul knoweth what it will earn to-morrow, and no soul knoweth in what land it will die. Lo! Allah is Knower, Aware.

Surah Al-E-Imran
No soul can ever die except by Allah's leave and at a term appointed. Whoso desireth the reward of the world, We bestow on him thereof; and whoso desireth the reward of the Hereafter, We bestow on him thereof. We shall reward the thankful. (145)

Surah Al-Anaam

With Him are the keys of the Unseen, the treasures that none knoweth but He. He knoweth whatever there is on the earth, and in the sea. Not a leaf doth fall but with His knowledge: there is not a grain in the darkness (or depths) of the earth nor anything fresh or dry (green or withered) but is (inscribed) in a Record Clear (to those who can read). (59)


Ultimately, our people will NEVER know God/Allah until they make effort to break the chain of Slavery and read the Qur-an; here's a Quranic site:

Throughout the struggle for freedom from enslavement of the African, physical and mental slavery, there has always been Negroes, disparagingly referred to as “HOUSE NIGGERS” by the enslaved Africans who still possessed their human dignity. These mutations, the House Negroes, were hated by the Enslaved Africans who did the work in the field where they were beaten and murdered in the Name of Jesus, where the Bible teaches:

Colossians 3:22: Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to win their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord.

Like SAMBO at 3:44, enraged that his Master Chastanet is a doomed looser, there was a Treacherous Black Negro Porter, named Hayward Shepherd, who on the the night of October 16, 1859 in the town of Harpers Ferry, Virginia, attempted to alert the Slave Owners that a Slave-Rebellion was in the works. This Slave Rebellion was led by a Caucasian named John Brown, a descendant of one of the first European immigrants who landed on Plymouth Rock(see, I'm not racist).

Because of the Mis-Education, many Africans/Blacks know nothing of this Negro Hayward Shepherd. There were countless African Slave Rebellions, the rebellion/uprising against the Slave Owning family of England's P.M. David Cameron in Jamaica is a well known Maroon colony.

This Negro Hayward/Heywood Shepherd was the FIRST person killed by John Brown's Raiding Army when he “SAMBO” attempted to inform the Slave Masters – a monument was built by the “Daughters of the Confederates” to honor this Self-hating Negro, known as Sambo's Monument.

Ask the next Black you meet, does he know who Hayward Shepherd is? And how many Self-hating Sambos do they Know on Micoud Street in Castries?

UNNECESSARY AND MISGUIDED

The Government of Saint Lucia has noted the public request by the United Workers Party to the Prime Minister, Hon. Dr. Kenny D. Anthony, “requesting exemption from Customs Charges including Value Added Tax (VAT) specifically for relief supplies.”

Try as it might, Allen Chastanet’s UWP cannot resist the temptation to engage in cheap partisan politics especially at this time.

It is alarming that the UWP does not know, understand or care to understand the laws of the country. There was no need to make any such public request to exempt relief supplies from the Value Added Tax (VAT) because the Value Added Tax Act makes an exemption for relief supplies. Relief supplies qualify as exempt imports. Section 16 of the Third Schedule of the Value Added Tax Act provides that imports of relief supplies qualify as exempt imports. It says:

“Goods and services imported during a threatened disaster alert or after a disaster emergency where the authorized signatories of the Office of the National Emergency Management Organisation(NEMO) or the Cabinet Secretary certifies that those goods are urgently required for dealing with the threat or emergency. These goods are not for resale.”

Thus, all the Opposition has to do for the supplies it receives is to seek the signatories of either the Director of NEMO or the Cabinet Secretary.

The Government of Saint Lucia never charges duty or service charge on relief supplies.

Finally, the United Workers Party is reminded that the power to grant exemptions of VAT resides in Parliament and not the Prime Minister or the Minister of Finance.
