Government continues to be INEFFICIENT and BI-PARTISAN in the approach to their work.

Which is a SAD indictment on this GOVERNMENT.

This country is highly polarized by St. Lucia Labour Party Politics.

ALSO high level of shiting in the river will block and rise the water and bring it into the houses of those who used to bleed the village council's coffers.

a few years/ month a villager was cough on TV camera poping on the sea shore/river mouth/river/banks.

right there on this very same river bank is the village's council building and garbage dumping ground. in 2010 just a few days before Tomas I visited the area with this very same Mr. Lansiquot (A VILLAGE COUNCILER AT THE TIME) and one Miss T.Leo 2 address the dumping of garbage into the sea and the river banks.(village council/NCA personals)in our very presents the villagers was doing their beautifying thing with tones of garbage, old beds, fridges u name it they throw it at our feet. he LANSIQUOT never said one word 2 them.

SO U W P @ 8:00AM/8:01AM: YOU ARE THE SAME BULL AS YOUR Lansiquot friend.
u all can't touch this government performance.

this man was a village counselor
4 many years. y didn't he fix his river wall when the U W P was in power.
so tell me who playing po----pop politics with the people?

Yeah, when I read the story, I realised there were two sides to this story.

Indeed, if he was a village counsellor, under any administration, why didn't he see it fitting to have remedied this situation.

Now politics are being played in big broad day light!!

Why is it politics? The man did not publicised his letter which was sent to the PIP since last year. He only made mention of it after this lasted storm. If there is someone who is political its some of you.
The fact remains it does not matter who he voted for. He had a legitimate complaint and it was not addressed by PIP.

The word "trough" being applied to this storm, might be more suited to being called
A meteorological Trough?
A "trough" is an ambiguous word with meanings such as: a receptacle of drinking water for domestic and non-domestic livestock.
Check it out at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trough

Mr. T is just trying to create confusion to help SLP look good. I believe Mr. Lansiquot's explaination.

GOD will help does who help themselves like Lansiquot did. Many should follow his example if they can afford it like he could. However don't complain like he did if you can help it.

Indeed, this broken down wall has to be fixed. Not just because it will mitigate the effects of flood water on the Lansiquots' house, but on all the other houses in that lane as well.

A good point that was made was to have the river desilted. Might I add also that it would be worthy to carry the sand away from the river. Dumping the sand on the river banks is inefficient. The soil gets dumped back into the river when it rains.

I visited St. Lucia during 2013 between July and August and saw that the most vulnerable part of the river was left without the wall being replaced and could not understand why. I spoke to a member of the village council and was told why the wall was left and could not believe it i.e. that Lansiquot was part of the previous village council. Whoever is responsible for making the decision to leave that part of the village flood defences undefended should be charged for negligence and endangering the lives of the people of the whole village in so doing.
