Well i can't agree more with Jeff Elva. Sir John gave his entire being for Saint Lucia, to reward him with half of himself if not less. The great man deserve the full spendor of being shown to the world. The government should not insult Sir John, his family and Saint Lucians by erecting just a bust. Aterall, there is a lack of sculptured art in Saint Lucia, Let the sculpture of Sir John change that.Give Sir John that honour, he deserves it.
Yes, I agree as well - not a bust, but a FULL STATUE of Sir John
We could simply meet the costs by allocating the amount spent on the useless travelling of government ministers with a litany of henchmen - to boot - and thier wives as well - for good measure - or god knows whom else, towards a FULL STATUE of Sir John.
Anonymous about the statue of St. Lucy. I thought you were one of those who does not believe Columbus discovered St. Lucia. If so, the island's name should not really be St. Lucia afterall and has no patron saint.. This is why I always said that if it were in my power, when we got our Independence, I would have done just as several other countries have done and adopted a new name.
I dare say, that there is no doubt in anyone's mind, as to the validity of the need for a full statue of Mr. Compton in the middle of the boulevard. And that is to include the mind of "Anonymous" and all the idiot SLP hacks. St. Lucy? What a joke!
The prosperity and notariety that St. lucia enjoyed for so many years, was undoubtly the work of our humble servant, "Daddy Compton". We have NOTHING today that make us proud that did not come from the work of Daddy Compton and his UWP government, even with whatever faults they may or may not have had.
Grow up St. Lucia.
Wisdom, Justice and Right have nothing to do with politics. It is or it isn't!
PS. Anonymous(es), it would be wise to shut up as your vicousness is showing. Remember, we St. Lucians have a nasty way of making you pay for your filthy mouths.
well said peley and i am willing to give my donation towards the erection of the statue. dont know is there is an account set up for this but if there is will someone enlighten me. i am one who appreciate and really do appreciate the work of this great leader of ours.

How about a statue of our patron saint, Saint Lucy? She is the true mother of our land, mother Helen.
Compton was too divisive and polarizing.

As a child I knew Her name as Saint Lucia so I accept Her the way She is, I really don't care what people say. Why fix it if it ain't broke?

'Daddy Compton.' Hmmmmmmm.
IAKM: Why don't you shut yourself up with your warning and threatening over the net? Evolve, will you? Your daddy Compton is not my daddy.
