The more we see the effect of the presence of the Taiwanese in St. Lucia and the positive results of establishing diplomatic relations with them, the more we become exposed to the utter selfishness and anti-St. Lucian posturing of Kenny Anthony in his positioning on the Taiwan/China issue.
Dr. Anthony exposed himself as a self centered useless leader incapable of even being an effective Opposition Leader.
Concerned with only his personal standing with the Chinese who were understandably so dissapointed with him for embarassing them with his handling of affairs in St. Lucia , Dr. Anthony pursued a disloyal alter-foreign policy and insulted St. Lucia's Government with his further rudeness to the Taiwanese people and Government.
The telling point is this.
Dr. Antnony and his hacks and goons in the upper echelon of the SLP wasted over $150-$200 million a year between 1997 and 2006. In this way they racked up over $1,000,000,000 in debt on the backs of St. Lucians.
Along come the Taiwanese and with good intentions, efficient management, a clear concern to make utilized funds go a long way to achieving ends , spend substantially less but have such tremendeous results to show the people of St. Lucia. The reconfigured mental institution, computers, water systems, a amazing orchid greenhouse set up, banana facilities( that actually work !), an abattoir, walkways and now vehicles for the police.
The Taiwanese identify areas of concern and of bottlenecks and improve the quality of life of St. Lucians without the rancour and divisiveness of Dr. Anthony and his supporters.
In 2011 St. Lucians will have a choice. Go back to Dr. Anthony with his destructiveness or stay with the UWP with their friends who make a difference.
It's amazing how Peter Josie has, over the years, tumbled down the deep, smelly hole of political prostitution. Josie refuses to be honest in his various so-called analyses of the issues. His dishonesty is such a trademark now, that he believes there is something wrong in mentioning openly and honestly, that George Odlum is the diplomat he refers to who brought China to Saint Lucia. What can be wrong with mentioning Brother George because he has died? Josie's mind needs some looking into. But I've digressed a bit. The problem with Taiwan in Saint Lucia today is indeed TOM CHOU, who is behaving like a real CHOU (patois version)!!! You cannot, as a diplomat, behave in a foreign country the way Tom Chou does. Tom Chou, an accredited diplomat, parades around the place dishing out CASH to people, as if Saint Lucians are just little boys and girls who can be bought over, like political prostitutes as Peter Josie and the incredible Denys Springer. Tom Chou's handing over of CASH to sportsmen in such public places as the playing fields during sporting events, publicly handing CASH to the former Commissioner of Police, to politicians, etc, constitutes vile and undiplomatic behaviour. Tom CHOU behaves like a CHOU, and has to be removed immediately, and sent back to the Diplomatic Academy. This is the point Peter. Donna.
The clown above refuses to address the issue of the effectiveness of the Taiwanese in their assistance to the people of St. Lucia.
Instead he/she trys to say they are concerned about what is diplomatic yet in the same sentence says that the Ambassador "is behaving like a real Chou (patois version). Only a badly brought up fool would run the two concepts in the same sentence.
All those complicite in the downward spiral of St. Lucia under the SLP like to ACT as though they are concerned with diplomacy, rules, law, morals and values once it helps their cause. Once in power or defending their failed management of St. Lucia they all forget everything they throw at the UWP.
Compare the steady, competent, efficient support of St. Lucians by the Taiwanese with he inefficient, fraudalent, incompetent, infantile, Third Worlk kleptocracy of those who attack them.
The retarded above has, just like Peter Josie, completely avoided the POINT. He thinks that Donna, my sister, is a political hack, which HE obviously is. Let me enlighten this retard and tell him straight off that Donna holds no brief for Kenny Anthony, who has been, and continues to be, a severe disappointment in many ways. Donna is correct, she's on the ball...The POINT is that TOM CHOU behaves disgracefully as the Diplomatic Head of Mission in my parents' country. No diplomat is allowed to do such things in sovereign countries. Take a brief look around the diplomatic community in Saint Lucia and you will see that Tom's behaviour is totally out of line. NO OTHER DIPLOMAT in Saint Lucia conducts themselves so openly and aggressively in the internal politics of the country. If he behaved that way in Jamaica, where I now reside, he'd be dead already. Such hyprocracy! Times have really changed. Josie makes reference to The former Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Labour Government (1979-1982), and refuse to name him.
We all know that he is referring to his partner in crime George Odlum. It's true that during that time Odlum established diplomatic relationships with leftist countries like China, Lybia, Iran and the USSR. But Josie himself was deeply involve in the process.
Precisely the point Zapon. Josie, like several others in Saint Lucia today, have been reduced to political prostitution. Endless singing for Taiwanese supper, or as his "pardner in crime" George Odlum, eloquently put it, they are singing for "Taiwanese trinkets." Indeed Saint Lucia is going through the toughest time of its political life. Donna.

What the heck is going on here? Can we have a reasonable debate here? Kenny Anthony has acknowledged that Taiwan has made strides in St. Lucia and is pleased with it. So let's debate the real issue here.
Is Kenny Anthony's assertions that his problem is not with Taiwan but with Tom Chou sensible? Are the two not representative of the same thing?
The man need to go back to IR 101. What am I saying? What is a constitutional lawyer do messing around with international relations?
I think that the more the we see the foolishness and ineptitude and recklesness and kleptomania that is and was the SLP leadership the more I and most St. Lucians realize that we cannot let those self-centered nuts back in power again.
Thank God for Elections. If we had voted for Kenny and Co in 2006 we would have been like Chavez and Venezuela by now.

I have to be careful about my opinion on the St Lucia/ Tawain/ China issue. I really don't know the facts but I know this; looks likely that the next general electons (which is the only election I know of in St Lucia for local elections seem to be obsolete in our demorcracy)
will be contested mainly over issues dealing with these two countries. Tawain which as I have observed is the country one party endorses and China is the country the other party formally approves. The focus on these issues have continued to divide our people and the complex social issues of crime and reforms in our costitutioal and judicial systems have not been validated as we approach the 31st anniversary of statehood.

Short-sighted Yellow UWP tadpoles,....keep Tom Chou...... Taiwan gives us grass roots projects...we need nothing else. And if in the same breath we not only praise Taiwan and the UWP but criticize Kenny.....it makes UWP alot more attractive to vote for. Only in St. Lucia.
Sir, with all due respect; Giving each Constituency Representative a choice to establish contacts with the Tawainese ambassador for the sake of their constituents is a dumb idear. This would have the ambassador even more embedded in our internal affaairs causing division and wrangling among the reps who would certainly lobby agressively for projects for their respective constituencies and bypassing the Office of the Prime Minister which is resposible for the affairs of the entire State including all the constituecy representatives and their constituents would be disrespectful and maybe unconstitutional. It would be more appropriate for the reps to neet the ambassador as a group or delegation headed by the Prime Minister as a courtesy call.
Would you really implement this idear of yours had you been a Head of State?
I assume the Ras is saying that having an ambassador from a foreign country have direct official contacts with District Representatives in a host country would be inconsistent with Foreign Affairs protocol.
The more I read Peter Josie's so-called columns the more my disdain for him grows. The intellectual dishonesty he has displayed in this "poo-poo platter" he calls a column, is astounding. He seeks to justify the blatant interferrence in the internal affairs of the country by ambassador Chou Josie has shown us why he was so willing to sacrifice the long standing friendship,solidarity and loyalty for the late Bro. George when the late John Compton dangled the carrot of being Prime Minister in his face. ( It was beer-leer-lesh after the UWP victory).
He made a point that resounded with me, but was an indictment of the money-hungry UWP ministers, who it was alledged accepted a huge payout to establish diplomatic relations with the Taiwanese instead of China.
He even had the temerity to suggest that the government of Taiwan, through the ambassador, should be dealing directly with the various constituency representatives, in direct contravention with established internationally accepted diplomatic protocol.
His antipathy for Kenny Anthony stems from his disappointment that Kenny became Prime Minister of St. Lucia without having been part of "the struggle".
In his pitiful attempt to redeem himself and establish some semblance of credibility and relevance in the politics of St. Lucia, he fawns over King and the mottley crew while he descends into oblivion at break neck speed.
