It's about time to include many St Lucian performers onto the Jazz stage, not just a noted few. The tourist board should search for Expats to take part in Jazz via an invitation to register to participate or Google St Lucian performers in other countries.

I am planning to approach the Minister of Tourism for 2010 Jazz. I have been a professional solo entertainer for over 32 years in Canada and the USA as a singer/ songwriter/ pianist etc.

I have also performed in certain parts of the Caribbean, Canada, USA and South America with a very well known and established Caribbean/Canadian group among others.I have also worked in management in the hospitality industry in North America.

To include many St Lucians in Jazz will give them great exposure in the presence of foreign artists who are very well established. This will definitely improve the economy for local performers and St Lucia by giving them the opportunity to reach foreign markets with their music etc.

It is about time that St Lucia becomes more patriotic about everything St Lucian. Especially since certain members of different governments over the years have given away most of our heritage and our rights to greedy and uncaring foreigners.

Keep up the good work, perhaps there's still hope for St Lucia despite all of its short comings from where she once reigned supreme and proud.

Very concerned Expat
