I say give it up Kenny and wait for a free and fair election, you shouldn't bring down the government during a recession. The voters will never forgive you for that and they'll make you pay at the polls.

You politicians should work together for the beterment of the nation and not for your parties and yourselves.

What recession you talking about? This government have caused a recession of scandals from day one. Which people that will not forgive Kenny if he relieve us of this incompetent government? Which voters that will ever vote this present government over Kenny? What is that government doing that is so good, that they will make Kenny pay, pay for what ? Kenny worked during his term, now it is this government turn to show what they can do, as far as we could see they are not doing much good. How can the opposition work with the government, with the system we have in St Lucia? Before you write you must think, not even the politician that won their seats for the ruling party, but they are not in government can do anything to help in St Lucia, much less the opposition. It is Kenny job as leader of the opposition to put pressure on the government, we are paying him $15000 a month, to do that. We all know that the government will not fall before the five years, but the opposition have to do their job. This government must know that they were elected by the people, and is being paid by the people tax dollars to work in their interest, and not to only create scandals after scandals.

Why do people think that every time a politician does something it is for his good and not the good of the nation? Besides, what's wrong with doing things for your own good? If you don't do for yourself, who will do for you. Further, can't it be what is good for an individual can be good for the country? Let the opposition leader do what he is paid to do. If he sat back quiet and did nothing, you would be on his back too.

I have heard on many a talk show that Dr Anthony is a teacher however his attitude and actions resemble that of a bully. Yes Dr Anthony is highly educated but this is what he is using to intimidate St Lucians and the current administration. Have St. Lucians ever tried to disect Dr Anthony's comments to see how much mulch is in it? Kenny took an issue of ethics and presented to St Lucians as a legal issue and was able to get away with it scaring Mondesir into going to pay customs duties that he does not have to pay as the authority he recieved for consessions went through due and legal process. Looking at the news clip Kenny never disputed the comments of the minister of communication instead threatened him that if those statements were made in public where he does not have immunity he will take him to court. Hmmm tell me if these comments does hold merit do you think that anyone will dare make any statement in public for fear of being sued by Kenny? Its funny maybe lucians should turn out an march as Kenny may sue you for not marching too

Kenny is not the only educated man in St Lucia, there are many others, who is much more or as educated as Kenny. So you cannot say Kenny is using his education to intimidate the government and St Lucians. It is up to the government who choose incompetent men in their mist, who cannot march up to Kenny. Kenny never scared Mondersir, Mondersir lost in the court of law, because what he and his government did was illegal. Gave us your proof that the concession was legal? He got the concession under the tourism incentive act, that means everything he imported was to use in TOURISM, and not for his personal use. Kenny should not even lower his standard to answer that semi literate Guy Joseph, because it is a shame to have somebody like Guy Joseph as a minister, only in St Lucia, things like that can happen. What policy can Guy come up with or implement, to help St Lucia go forward? Guy can bearly speak English. If that is how Kenny can make his statement, then he has a right to take these incompetent men who is killing our St Lucia to court. Instead of Guy Joseph take on Kenny he should be telling us what he is doing for the betterment of St Lucia, for the big salary we are paying him.

Anonymous said...

Do not try that foolishness, that" Kenny will take you to court for not marching". St Lucians are smarter than that, Kenny provided a secondary school place for each and every one of us. So if our mother or father cannot read or write, they children will explain things to them.

Bsc= bullshit, Ms= master of shit, JD= doctor of jack ass. I want to let you know that Kenny is being paid to bully, if you did not know that.

Kenny's only interest is to get back in power and he's using the blind fools to achieve his goal.

Ha Ha Ha..Just as I thought. Fear of education. If my name did not list my credentials no one would pay attention as many a times when I post anonymous many of you agree with my points. Taking the issue to cabinet to be discussed is based on the requirements of the constitution where the matter was discussed which is the due legal process of an issues of such nature. At cabinet a decision is made as to whether to allow it or not. Instead what should be questioned is the ethics of the decision makers and ethics unless it infringes on law has no place in the court. If it were me the money tax payers are paying for Kenny to be a bully would be to pay me a big fat check cause I would sue. Kenny himself knows this which is why in the court of law it was a matter of wrong doing and never once mentioned that the cabinet of ministers broke the law. I have heard the man speak and never has he said that Mondesire defrauded the government of duties and if you pay attention to his choice of words his choice words was "deprived". If you need a lesson in law and ethics come to me I will teach you. I never said that the government was compitent all I am asking is to pay more attention to what you hear and don't be a yes man

I agree with Kenny for being only interested in coming back into power, because what we have now in power is a shame and a disgrace, compared to what we had under Kenny. Kenny is not using me, as a matter of fact i want to use kenny to continue all the good development he started in my beautiful St Lucia. Under Kenny St Lucia was the fastest developing island in the caribbean, even Barbados start getting frightened, St Lucia had never seen so much development in it history, we could not find a bag of cement to make medicine, to buy, all finish as soon as a shipment come in. i am not blind, all Kenny achievements are there for all of us to see. We need Kenny back,

I am not fearful of your education, it does not make any sense to advertise our qualifications. We all are qualified in our various fields. The statement i want to make to you is, if you cannot see that this government is going over board, and is breaking the law in St lucia, then all your qualifications are useless to you. That is way i described, you as such. You still go back to that word BULLY, referring to Kenny, when the man is being paid to do just that, that is his job. You must understand that.

I believe he should wait for another 2 years, it is not in the best interest of the Nation to bring down the government at this time.

Ok, I guess I need to explain myself. When I commented on Kenny it was to show that throughout the proceedings he never mentioned that the act was illegal or against any laws but it was a case of wrong doing which I totally agree with which was in response with the comment which asked for proof that the matter was not a legal matter. Secondly all I am saying is lets not go back to the days when Foster won cases for the silliest techicalities based on witness or police testimony. Lets make sure that we scrutinize everything anyone says for that matter and formulate our own perceptions. Also lets not make careless statements which we may and can be held liable for even though we will not be penalized in st lucia. We are part of the wider world and we need to start thinking and behaving that way. Too many times I hear the host on radio shows commenting on the fact that the show is being broadcasted all over the world and this is not the perception that we want to give persons who live outside st lucia. My name was merely to make a point, look how much you rip my comments apart because you support Kenny's efforts and I am sure that he can slip something which makes no sense and you may not notice. Let us evaluate everyone's statement just as much as you ripped mine apart. There was no malice in my statement just a learning excersize

Anonymous said...

What is your point? What does kenny slipped that i did not noticed? Did kenny slipped something on the judge also? You contradicting yourself, you said, Kenny never said it was illegal, or against the law, but is a case of wrong doing. Is that not contradicting? If it is a case of wrong doing, so how comes it is not illegal or against the law? That is why i say to you, with all your so called qualifications, you cannot think for yourself. Kenny did not win the case on any technicalities like Foster, do not try that. He won fair and square, The case is very simple, there is concession for tourism development, so anything imported in related to tourism, get tax concessions. Mondesir imported furniture for his private home, and claimed concession for it claiming his house was part of his hotel. That was against the law, cabinet tried to cover up that, by trying to give him permission, which was also against the law. I do not support Kenny as a person, i support the better or best government for St Lucia, because i love St Lucia. We have two parties in St Lucia, one has to be better, and i support the better one.

The person who said Kenny should wait for two more years. That does not make any sense because we are paying these ministers EVERY MONTH a big salary to work in our interest, they are not doing that, all they does is to create scandals after scandals. We all know the government will not fall before the two years, but it is Kenny job to put pressure on them, to let them know what they are doing is not right. If he sit back and wait, he is not doing the job he is being paid to do. As a matter of fact if this government fall now, it will not only be in the best interest of St Lucia, but a blessing.

I wish we could have this conversation face to face not for any reason but conversations like these are healthy. Anyway if a law was broken why is Kenny so careful with his choice of words. Deprived instead of defraud unlike in Richard case where he openly says defraud. The matter was a case of wrong doing and not illegally or unlawfully recieving exemptions. I agree it was wrong as he "deprived" customs from collecting duties. Quite frankly if you ask me the current administration leaves a lot to be desired. I realise that you take politics very seriously as you noted in the end of your comments. But I have never voted in st lucia because by the time I left St Lucia elections was not around the corner and anytime elections are held I am not in St Lucia so my comments go past the party lines. If you noticed I have never condemded anyone or any party all my comments appeal to holistic thinking among st lucians. It pains me when I read some of the statements of foreign nationals who come out right and diss some ppl who make comments. Good convo though. Doh take it personal

Talking about frederick, yet another minister in scandal. Should kenny sit back and allow that to happen in our beautiful St Lucia? You must stop saying that Mondersir case is wrong doing and not illegal or unlawful. I suppose you live in the U.S.A and you know very well anytime you deprive the state of taxes, that is a very serious crime, you even go to prison. I have voted a few times in St Lucia, and i love my country, i want the best for St Lucia. Talking about these talk show host in St Lucia, they are bias towards party lines. People suppose to make their comments, but they want to impose their views on the people. They want people to say what they want to hear, using the excuse that the world is listening, as if everything in the outer world is perfect, and we in St Lucia are mediocre. I listen American talk shows and the people are no different from St Lucians, people support their parties just as much. The call the politicians all kinds of names, the comedians make joke on the politicians, every day. I see the people acting unruly at the town hall meetings, that suppose to be discussing healthy care etc, etc, all these things happen life on TV for all the world to see. I strongly believe it is because of these bias talk show hosts in St Lucia, that confused the people, that is why we end up with that kind of government we have today.

Pressure is good, sacking Mondesir is good but shuting down the government at this time is not good.

Anonymous said...

Give me one good reason we have to keep this incompetent government at this time. Have we not suffered enough? Everything in St Lucia is at a standstill, a hospital which was about 85% complete, is not finished in 2 3/4 years. of a government in power.

You people put the UWP in power so deal with it, they're in for a 5 yr term.

I live and work in St.Lucia. I am a public servant and terrified of being victimized. I am also a very private person.
My problem is I can not imagine not doing anything to stop the present slaughter of our island.
I refuse to believe that level headed St. Lucians DO NOT find anything wrong with the present handling of our beautiful island.
Are we so politically blind?
People we have to do something!!!!
Things are bad and we need capable hands!
If there is so much wrong with Kenny, then think of an alternative; anything is better that what we have passing for government and governance!
Let's stop fighting down and insulting each other.
Together we have to show the Government that they need to stop the corruption; scandal; wastage; poor judgement; victimization; poor leadership; bribing of investors; personal gains from Taiwanese; disrespect to the House of Parliarment and the Speaker of the House; World-wide emabarrassment etc. etc.
The Chamber of Commerce will not help like they then in '79'
Call friends; get your placards; give someone a ride and take a short peaceful walk through Castries. Who knows it will force the Government to change path even slightly!

First and foremost never take anything in the US for face value there is tons of constitution governing those actions by media personnel. As a matter of fact the fines media houses pay when they cross the line is a fraction of what they earn from the popularity of the shows so they are more than willing to pay the fines and that is the culture of american media.
Secondly the tax structue is the US is a lot more rigid and those who defraud the government of taxes are plain foolish becuase all your information no matter how minute is tied to you social security number which is why Wesley Snipes take jail, you cannot hide anything. Again all I am saying is to try a different approach. I hardly hear persons making suggestionas as to how to make things better everyting is beating the same drum corruption - get out. For all you know dem ministers know they will not survive another term so they just organizing themselves (although thats what all of them do)Why not have constructive town hall meetings with constituents before decisions are made, so the ministers know how the common ppl feel and can use that to make his decison in line with what ppl want. All I ever see on market step meeting is politicians talking down at people. Why not start at the grassroots level. We all are st lucians and we all should have a say in the decisions made. We should not hear about it after laws pass or decisions made. Let us all take part in the welfare of the country then we will not feel victimized. Its the non careish attitude we have is why this is what is happening. You still go to the bank and find only 2 or 3 tellers and a long line of people waiting and no one else coming to help and the tellers are in no hurry to get things moving. We need to wake up people. Its a team effort we all have a voice we not in slavery any more

Kenny needs to tell us what makes his party think they can do such a great job when the entire WORLD is suffering. He was in office when things where good in the WORLD and messed it up that is why he is not in office. We need to push for new leadership not Kenny.

If Flambeaus don't join this demonstration amass Kenny better forget it. I believe he is wasting his time if UWP supporters don't answer his call to remove the government.

Anonymous said...

Please allow Kenny to have his day. I suggest in the case of failure to bring down king that he does the right thing and resign.

Anonymous said...

I can't agree more. This demonstration is not only a test for the UWP but one for Kenny Anthony. He may have cast all of this eggs in one basket and that could walk to his disadvantage.

Anonymous said...

This thing is getting stranger and stranger by the day. The people of VF to march against Dr. Anthony's poor representation on Thursday. LOL

The reports are he will be down in Castries trying to bringing down King but the people he poorly represents are planing on sending rotten eggs on his image.LOL

Good day my friend Anonymous. I just read an article based on an interview with Lorne, that is the exact thing I'm talking about. Think differently, see whats wrong and how can we make it better. A totally different approach from what we used to and the approach of Kenny. Hope he does not get spoilt. He escaped once with UWP lets hope he flourishes.

Anonymous said...

Kenny, march yourself out of politics while you are at it. We don't want you!

Anonymous said...

I know I would go to the anti-Kenny march first.

Sitting here in NYC ... and reading all this rambling of political power is a sad. Why is it that the government elected by the people can not be for the good of the country and people as a whole. Kenny and King and all this back and forth is pathetic. Kenny and his family lived a lavish life style in the 80's and now King is entertaining what he did before. It is high time democracy be enacted by decency. Stop this crap and try to get the island a reputable name. Kenny had lots of time to make himself re-elected. If he was doing good he would not have been ousted by greedy Compton. Now King is just the same. There is crime, unemployment and drug trafficking that is making international news from St. Lucia. Why doesn't Kenny and King discuss and explain to the people what can be done to make the people feel safe. Students are graduating, can you give them jobs? All this money is pretty enticing from the US, but who really benefits from it. STOP. STOP.
