What else is new?
We can go on like this...by just giving Marcus another Taiwanese 'Top Up' until another out-burst or threat to Prime Minister King's leadership....or vote this people out!!!
I can sense another UWP victory....Kenny watch out!!
The country is on the right track.....lots are happening....Marcus just adding to our victory.
Marcus is right. King and his inner circle set up this thing. They knew that Kenny and the SLP being so desperate would prance on it.

As for King, he accomplished two things. He knows how to make the SLP march to the beat of his drums. He has Marcus on defense and has all the armor to move against his now.

What country is going in the right direction? All I want the SLP to do is stop this roro and papishow. Get some sense in their heads. They can beat the UWP without the roro.
SLP encouraged Marcus to go to England for 2 months....slap down his 23 yr. old girlfriend who is the mother of his child ....and who is supposedly paying school for.
SLP called the High Commission office in England and had them call here.
And of course SLP had the English cops to detain him for questioning.

I'm confused by Marcus Nicholas' outburst on public television, and even more confused by some of the comments offered on this blog. First, how is the country on the right track? We're in the heart of the tourism season and despite the wondrous talk of increased airlift and cruise arrivals, there is not a consequential increase in hotel occupancy or visitor expenditure. We're seeing a few public investments but nothing on the scale necessary to prop up a failing economy. There's a serious budgetary challenge with government finances due to a major dip in revenue. There's little buoyancy or circulation of money. Yet there's no real expression of where the country is going. Loads of pipe dreams, yes. A new Terminal at Hewanorra? At what cost? Starting up of Le Paradis and Ritz Carlton? We've been hearing that over and over for the past two years. Look here, the problem is not merely the state of the economy, it is the state of governance. Over the past three years we have seen piss poor governance. Wishing and talking that things are happening and highlighting some Taiwanese projects that are finally being completed might fool a few, but is this really enough fodder to win an election? It might be if the SLP doesn't get its campaign together and approach this thing as if elections were in the first quarter of 2010, a time frame that looks like the UWP's best shot at the moment.

I don't think the SLP is asleep. I think St. Lucians are too quick to criticize the SLP to satisfy their self-serving nature of serving an inept Government.
When SLP is mobilizing, then you will hear the yellow tadpoles (borrowed term) jumping saying Kenny should wait his turn etc.
When SLP is solidifying internally whilst the UWP is serving their electoral term then SLP is asleep and not ready to govern!!!
SLP I suspect does have a plan and if it so happens that ST. Lucians vote a set of hooligans, criminals and un-educated mis-fits....then let me one more reason for blaming the SLP...soon we shall blame the SLP for the rain!!!!

Marcus is arrogant and sounds like a bully and I am a flambeau supporter.
The PM is PM for the whole Island and he has the right to visit any constituent if he wants to and especially in the absence of a rep. So to Marcus I say have a little respect for your PM.

When Compton took over government, he said that recurrent expenditures were greater than recurrent revenues. Is it difficult to see that the big projects of which you dream will not happen in such a fiscal environment?

Sorry, somebody slipped in another comment before mine. My last point was aimed at the Anonymous whose quote I repeated.
Marcus Nicholas, Stephenson King, Richard Frederick etc, etc, are all morons. And furthermore, why wouldnt the government give a heads up on Nicholas' whereabouts, especially since he was "conducting all that good business for St Lucia?" I say enough lies. Where there is smoke there is fire. But I could care less. And as for heaping blame on Kenny Anthony,of course, he has to be blamed for everything under the sun. This has happened so often that I now find it amusing. I have a kid with a developmental disability: maybe Kenny Anthony caused my kid to be that way too! Please people, enough. Take a minute and ponder. Is that really what we want representing us? Arrogant, boisterous and possibly women batterers. Says a lot about us as a people.
We are what we eat and Marcus seems to eat alot of pork and beef because he looks greedy like a pig and wants to fight like a bull, time for some fish and chicken, there is no harm and it's healthy.

Right or wrong, Marcus has acted with much too much arrogance and disrespect for the PM once again. It is my firm belief that the UWP can win this election withput this jackass, and the PM must show some balls, and do what he has the power to do. Marcus would never have been so brazen, had Sir John been the PM, and never also, if he had been an SLP MP. Kenny would have fired his arse in an instant.
All I know is that King is our PM and we should respect our leader, Marcus should be charged with insubordination.
I really don't give a crap what anybody says, Marcus is disrespectful to his boss and he should be dissiplined. Just because he was leader of the party years gone by doesn't give him the right to diss our PM. And I don't really care what people say about King, he is our leader and that's that.

You know the truth is, King hasn't done anything bad to our Country, he's trying, he has some elements who've gone rogue in his circle but what I admire about King is that he thinks with his heart, his head and heart are connected.
What if you were just an odinary worker and your manager died all of a sudden and you were thrust in his position, wouldn't it take time for you to learn the ropes, and do you think it would be just to be compared to your competition next door who've had a decade doing the same thing that you do?
Logically speaking, if our leader is trying to help us, then I think we should rally behind him/her for the betterment of our Nation.

Yes king SHOULD be charged with insubordination because he has disrespected his superiors, which is the people of St Lucia many times eg he promised the civil servants back pay, them come on the eve of pay day, saying he cannot pay, is that not disrespect? They are his employer and they are the ones paying him.

Kenny came into the conversation because some of us St Lucians do not like progress and development. Kenny was developing the country to quickly, as far as some backward St Lucians were concerned. They prefer the divide and rule of the Compton era, keep us illiterate and hungry for four years than they distribute our banana money in hand outs at election year, to win election. Then the cycle start over again for another five years, i am old enough to remember that. Now it is more noticeable, the tradition continues, look at the yellow santas in Dennery. Kenny took out malaway for the pig pens uwp left for us eg prison, mental hospital, school for ALL etc, etc. That was to good for some of, we could not understand that was happening to us as malaways. Everything good should go to the rich and keep the poor ones down. That is the uwp way of thinking.
Well said! Shows that there is still hope for St Lucia. Not all of us are mentally incapacitated. Those who find some sort of twisted joy in Kenny bashing can only do so for a period of time. Doesnt change the fact that he is the best thing to ever happen to St Lucia.
