Chou must go!

I read the story over an over and must admit I don't have indepth knowledge of foreign policy. There are a couple of things on the surface I fully understood and that is, when St Lucians go to a party their main focus is de food. One constantly hears voracious guests at parties right here at home and in the diaspora echoing stuff like. "When dey sharin' de food? Garcon! I eh going nowhere till dey share de food.' I am assumimg the reporters were whispering those same lines at Chou's party. t It was reported that the stray dogs from Marchand and Fond a Chaux got there on time but could not enter the the tight security compounds.

The other part of Mr. Earl Bousquet's interesting and informative story which does not take a scholar of foreign studies to understand is the fact that the extravagant and desperate diplomatic efforts of Chou and the Taiwanese is consolidating their position by paying off small gluttonous governments like St Lucia, have them in their control and in their corner and as payback have them support and make calls for its independence at the United Nations. Chou knows that and the reporters who chewed and swallowed duck at his ranch party should know that for sure. There is nothing wrong with Tawain's objectives this is an exchange, it is diplomacy but there should be in place strict diplomatic protocol by St Lucia to thwart attempts at any foreign diplomat getting involved in our internal affairs.

If the people of St Lucia are given a chance to meditate on this issue without distractions and disturbances by the garrulous politicians and spin artists on the radio and TV stations they all will arrive at the same conclusion which is a vote and support for Tawain at the UN in exchange for projects and stuff like that.

During the fiery and inflamed political campaigns in the era of Kenneth Foster, Peter Josie, Neville Cenac and others of the St Lucia Labour Party, cadidates desperate for votes passionately instructed the people to take money or favours offered by the ruling United Workers Party and when comes time to vote at the polling stations, put the cross right next to the star."

So here we are St Lucia; you know the deal! Everyone knows what time it is. This is a concept that has unfortunately become part of our culture. A culture of greed and deception originating from politricks.

Is Chou the first diplomat who impressed journalists with food? No! Bousquet should know. He got enough free trips to China and free food from the Chinese. How can we forget his commentary on DBS about all the goodies he and Frank Girard sampled on one of these free trips?

What has Bousquet and the Labourites seeing yellow is that Taiwan may well decide the outcome of the next election. All King and Co have to do is claim that Labour will go back to China if they win.

Kenny, Bousquet Pip and Co kicked out Taiwan in 1997 and now Taiwan is kicking them in their bellies making them vomit all the free food. As Jook Bwa would say "toof".

Pawr jab Earl.

Yes, Earl, that's what happens to effete mouthpieces - they become as significant as a fart in a hurricane. Is there no one in the media business that you could have asked to smuggle a few tidbits to you in a doggie bag?

And you keep harping on about the Taiwanese breaking the laws of St. Lucia, but I challenge you and the whole SLP brain trust (ha! that's a good one - SLP brain trust) to explicitly spell out how it is illegal for the Taiwanese to donate money for the betterment of the citizens.

Speak up, garçon.

And if you are going to talk about St. Lucia's government being bought by Taiwan, will you be mentioning Japan next week? Since bluefin tuna are now endangered and Japan will not stop fishing them, will St. Lucia support Japan?

Earl are you not tired of taking kicks to the head, do you not see anything that we can get from anywhere to enhance a better life style for any St Lucian is a good act. Earl when you knock food out of the mouths of any St Lucian the statments will come back and haunt you. Personally i do not care if we got help from Alaska, be careful Earl.

It must really be painful and frustrating for Labourites like Bousquet to find there is a reposte to their every lame argument. Take, for example all this fuss about the Taiwanese breaking St. Lucia's laws by giving money directly to Parliamentarians. Is Bousquet telling us that no SLP Parliamentarian got money from the Chinese outside of the Consolidated Fund? And is he putting forward Kenny's mishandling of Rochamel, or STEP or NCA as examples of prudent use of the Fund?

SLP and its acolytes like Bousquet have a serious credibility problem. And the only way they can deal with it is to keep their mouths shut.

Earl, thank you for clearing the air with Chou and how he continues to buy his freedom (exile) in St. Lucia when he finally receives his recall orders. There is no way Chow & family will return to Taiwan.....this media party was "food for bought or thought". He very well knows the consequences ahead and the fate of his former boss. Buying the selective media is the cheap alternative escape to remain in the region when his ambassador-ship is terminated.
I hope your next investigative report will be to determine whether Chou & family have bought a piece of the rock.

Ha...it would be a slap in Kenny's face if Chou decides to become a Saint Lucian...Ha.

In desperation, St Lucians getting at each others throat over the crumbs thrown at them by China and Tawain...this is repulsive and digusting.

There is a point to be made if Chou decides to stay in Saint Lucia when his term is up. No wonder he indicated he LOVES Saint Lucia even if there is a change of ambassadors. This whole thing is a setup. He's got the dollars and the contacts.
Hey, read between the lines.

You above, are an idiot!!

I see a hungry and angry Earl in this article. He is vexed because since Kenny was kicked out of power there has been no more free Chinese food for him. Ambassador Chou's invitation to select local media people (for some tasty ducks, locally grown tilapia and tea) has merely added insults to injury. Earl was not invited and now he is really vexed to the extent that he insults the invitees!

Brother Earl could have easily and correctly opened his piece by saying " The Taiwanes Ambassador threw a party the other day and he did not even invite me." Earl must learn to lick his wound.

And you must learn to respect someone else's opinion. Got it????

Earl's opinion lacks objectivity and respect for others. He should therefore not expect any respect for such opinion.
