I believe that it is about time that women in St Lucia be given the respect that is due to them. Women have tremendous abilities but successive governments have ignored the voices of the women.I hope that the Slp can place these women in meaningful positions should the win their respective constituencies.

Furthermore, with regards to Micoud North, I believe that the selection process should have been more open

Not one of your better stories Micah. Lots of redundancies. What is the controversy surrounding the SLP candidate for Michoud North?

Anonymous said...

Well this is st lucians for you, Kenny would only select DOctors they say. Now, he has selected regular folks, they have a problem with that. I guess labour will no longer make King's education an issue.

Yes. Barring moomoos and felons, everyone has a right to be MP, but not PM.

The only reason why Kenny went with her, is becuase he don't trust Marius Wilson's sister. After all these people have been flambeau's for life. Kenny knows to that this is a seat he can't win. Why waste precious time in being fair in the selection process. Take his time SLP still gonna lose, rush it, they still are going to lose.

For all the tra-la-la and way-lay-lay about women in this story, I have not heard one single thing about how putting these women into power will further the agenda of women.

Anyone can do community service as a way of getting to be known and 'showing' your interest in serving.

Yes. That's is very good. But what exactly ... what exactly are these women bringing to the table, other than that they are the right gender, they have the genuine anatomical parts and sometimes wear skirts?

We need to stop pallying around about the future of fair helen and put party politics aside and do what is right for our future.
look at the present goverment and their stewardship the last four years.
What about promises made, kept and broken.
The world has change and continues to do so and we will need to have leaders with vision, education, and is thecnological savy as we are in the 21st century.
A leader who knows people and how to go in and out among them.
Aleader who will not be bought or sold.
We need to think hard and long at those running and their qualifications.and make a wise and consious decision for me,our children, and where we want fair helen among the caribbean and the world.
Please my fellow st lucians leave party politics aside and time to stop sending little children to do grown up jobs.

Here you are pleading with the rest of us to put party politics aside, but yet you feel justified to hold the slp as close to your breast as you can. In your hearts of hearts the SLP is not a political party. It is in your own mind a god send for the people of St Lucia. My advise to you, hold on to your party, and the rest of us will hold on to ours. Whether Yellow, Green, Red, we all have choices as to how to take fair Helen forward. St Lucia is not the personal property of the SLP, and according to your indirect pro SLP appeal, we do not have to allow the SLP a freaking right to govern over us.

"Fair Helen" is going to be ok, no matter who is in charge!!! It has been screwed badly by Kenny, why give her a chance again to get more dirty wood.

Well you have just endorsed your party the UWP so do not accuse the previous blogger of endorsing their party the SLP. Its a democratic society and everyone has a right to vote for the party and canditate of their choice. I have always advocated that NO ONE can influence the outcome of the general elections but the ELECTORATE themselves. When we are at the back of the curtain ANYTHING can happen so please do not be fooled and be realistic. You blogger have absoulutely NO INFLUENCE whether the electorate chooses the SLP or the UWP.

Anonymous said...

For your misguided view, I am neither UWP or SLP. I am open to voting for the LPM or any alternative party.

There you have it. And you thought that you were so intelligent and wise!

You are 100% correct. Behind the curtains can be a big blow some who seem so sure they have won.

In responding to previous blogger it is in the best interest of all of us to do what is right.
Looking at the leaders who wants to take st lucia to the 21st century.
This is and age of tecnology, education, and globalization and looking at the head of those politcal parties.
Who is best qualified to take st lucia to another level.
First look at Stevensen king our current prime minister with a c- in Education and his present stewardship O
Mr Prudent Who is said to be leader of lpm Now my fellow bloggers lets think positive Has he any experiece in goverment hold any portfolio before
Isn't this a big gamble for our future.
Then you have the former prime minister in the person of kenny anthony, he has the experience, the education, the leadership skills.
So with no prejudice lets face it this man is better qualify to run the coutry so please in daniel chapter 2 that talks about babylon the head of gold and after it will be one who is less inferior than the one before.
So please we made mistake lets not go that route again and make fair helen a papyshow round the caribbean and the world.
Do not send little children to do grown up work.

How about he 45 million dollars that Kenny mistook for 45 bucks. Isn't this a little boy trying to do an Accountant's job? Kenny was so good yet the country had the 2nd hightest murder rate under his care? Kenny was so good and he had all the leadership skills yet he put a little child like Rambally to be in charge of Tourism? Kenny was so good that under his watch we had cost over run? Kenny was so good yet every day that he was PM he threatend St Lucians that he would take them to court? Kenny was so good that an old man called Compton Kicked his arse? Kenny was so good that wisdom did not dictate to him that you could not marry a Trini Woman and insult St Lucians by taking your entire government out of the country for the wedding? Kenny was so good that he verbally abused Sarah Flood who stood up to him over abortion? Kenny was so good that he fired senators who did not agree with him?

Given all that and more, I would take any other leader over this coward dictator!! He belongs in the middle east, not St Lucia. How about libya?

Well blogger believe it or not between him, king, and prudent whom would you choose and for the sake of the future of our country if you are in your right frame of mind you will definitely do what is right.
Believe you me st lucians are ready for him put it in your pipe and smoke it.
what you need to ask this present goverment is what have they done with all the moneys that was given after the hurricane.

Take a drive down to some of the constituency and see what is going on, especially soufriere.
Japan alone had contributed 18million us soufriere remains in deplorable condition and that's sad.as well as many other places.

So please blogger use the 2 pound electro chemical call the brain and think not because things are good with you but think of others who are suffering.

Its not about party but who best can articulate a message for this time amongst the wolves in the caribbean and representation. Again if st lucia to go forward we need the best and brightest and i don't see it in king nor prudent. so if you were to think carefully you will see that he is the better candidate.

Anonymous said...

I see nothing wrong in taking a chance on Prudent. He is young, well educated, and uncorrupted.

Anonymous said...

If that's all the SLP thinks Micoud voters deserve then forget it. We know where you coming from

Anonymous said...

mr prudent should look for another trade because he aint ready for this awesome task we cannot afford little children in such a delicate and strenous work to pally with the fiture of fair helen

Micah i have being trying to read through your story for the controversy in micoud north. However you main focus was on the other party. Why do u people let politics cloud your minds and judgement? We all have a right to a party affiliation but please our kids read the papers and one of the first question my daughter asked was " what was the main idea of the story?" sorry state of stlucia. Try to take from international journalist like nick robertson and Awa of cnn.

Kenny was so good but was mamguy into guaranteeing a Loan without covering our asses now we are paying for it dearly. Kenny got a government without any incidents, no hurricanes, no earthquakes, no floods, no economic meltdown, no rise in oil prices, and above all when he took over the national debt was as good as you could have gotten. After kenny left his chair the skid marks were all over it. So much for using tissue after using the toilet.....Amidst all thats have happen and the circumstances i give king a thumbs up for keeping stlucia where it is today baring in mind whats happening around us and around the world. STREET SMART VERSIS TH BOOKWORM. REMEMBER BILL GATES DOESNT HAVE A DEGREE

Oh, me Gard, not this woman!! Micoud North deserves a better candidate from the Labour Party. Kenny do care about us.
