NO! This well placed business man will not be charged. Infact, he has already being released to continue doing this type of "business" as usual.

A reporter's commentary or what you express in print should not be compromised by the rights of the freedom of the press. What is this tight lip thing!? Why, like any ordinary case, you cannot give the name of the prominent business person arrested for drugs that half Lucians already know.

Micah, take a little time off to conduct some investigative work and you might just discover, if you have not as yet, why Ti-Chas, apart from his private Hotel interests, is so INVOLVED in this airline thing. DO THE WORK Micah. Try to make a difference at The Voice. I know that Cabbages & Kings doesn't care to find out himself. In fact, he may already know, but instead of feeding us with MILK and HONEY, he insists on giving us little green cabbages!!! Michael Gordon should FIRE him.

Micah, Micah, Micah. This is a ridiculous article. No joke. Do you know anything about the procedures for choosing the UWP rep in Micoud North? Do you know if Morgie knows of the procedures? Did you ask morgie? So how can can assume that Morgie knew of the procedure and is becasue he didn't win that he is now challenging that procedure?

Micach got off your backside and find the answers to your questions. What, you want your readers to do their own investigation and tell you? If you want to know who the owners are CARICOM Airways, find out where it's registered and if it's in another country have a pardner check the Registry of Companies for you. You wannna know how much CARICOM Airways is paying SLAPSA, well call SLASPA nah man.
Businessman
I don't know where you been this past week but Frances Henry said in an interview in the Star the businessman was released not too long after he was arrested. She said the Police could not detain because he has not been charged.
Blogger # 6: funny but right on the button. I'd rather a reporter tell me he tried to get answers but was unsuccessful. This is what credible reporters do. Usually they will say, "we tried to reach so and so, but we were unsuccessful; or "we contacted so and so but he delcined to commnent for our story." Often they will say, "we will continue to track this story and bring you the latest developments.
Instead of Micah just looking around and asking silly questions, he should investigate and give his readers facturl information not conjecture.
I agree! It appears Micah lacks the ability to do research. He cannot write. Readers appetite for in depth reporting is now beyond his capacity to produce. I blame Micah for not reading sufficiently to improve himself.I also blame his employer for failure to send Micah on intensive/extensive training program in Journalism/Communication/Writing. We are short-changed and should protest!
@ above: Nobody's forcing you to read Micah's articles. I'm pretty sure you took it upon yourself to type in the web address of this site.So if u feel so short-changed, get your appetite satisfied by another journalist or news source, which you're probably a part of.
@ above, that's not the point. What's the sense of Micah asking readers questions they are not able to answer? It's his job to inform his readers. I wait to see if he will follow up on his own questions. If he leaves things here, then he's quite simply not a good journalist.
You guys have it all wrong. For Micah and Mr. Cabbage and Kings to keep their jobs they have to keep their fingers away far from the computer keys that spell the name of the "prominent businessman." As for Gordon he does not believe in the public's rights to know anything. Rick Wayne only believe in selling papers. Those in broadcast media and those who own them have no gonads. So there, you have your answer. The whole bunch of them weaned on a culture called idiocy and so we follow them religiously trying to get what little info we can garner if at all we really get the truth. Which reporter ever tells the truth? And if there is one, then he/she must not now have a job. Everybody is afraid of either being sued or losing their jobs. Welcome to the world of self preservation. Who cares about spilling the name of the "prominent businessman?'' Even the Police is toeing a thin line!

Kiss-ass editors, Journalists who lack investigative skills, media outlet owners, some who care for nothing by sensationalism, others who just care for the money their ads can make for them, those who do not think the public has any right to know a damn thing. More questions than answers. Who really cares? The whole lot of them need a makeover. To top it, journalists in Saint Lucia are mostly at the mercy of those who employ them. In this hard guava season who wants to risk getting fired? Furthermore who wants to lose their license and have their media house shut down for publishing the truth? Seriously we like it so in Saint Lucia so as far as I see it,nothing's really broken, so why try to fix it? Micah has no need and no motivation for improvement...he is in his comfort zone. His employers have no need to give him the nudge he needs as long as they are selling papers and making money off their ads and their printing so let us cut the guy some slack. We can holler as loudly as we please,Micah has a right to think out aloud! It may be that he did not have anything to write about on that particular day. Cut him some slack. It happens to the best of them. We can either answer his question or regard it as stuff to fill the paper. At the end of the day we toss the paper anyway. Ha!
