dont mind that. Sinnanan was a very arrogant man and needed to go.
That man think he's some big shot. Playing golf with ministers, taking others to the Coal Pot for lunch and all other nonsense. What goes around comes around.
Good. Saint Lucia Immigration is stepping up. Too many foreigners here working illegally and getting way with it whereas these same foreigners are ready to strangle our people when they catch us illegally in their country.Why couldn't the College hire a local Secretary? I hope they lock her up just like they would do if one of us were found violating their work permit laws in the USA.
Moreso, it is time for our own College Sir Arthur Lewis be upgraded so that we will not need the likes of Monroe college to educate our people.
Good Immigration..... we could not do it in her country so why do it in ours? So we so small island that she felt that she would get away with it? damn her. The law is the law and you cannot come to our country and disregard our law.Respect due please madam.

was equally in bed in bed with person within the SLP. It was not just government ministers.
Mr. Sinanan was the only interested in running a good campus. He protected us from these greedy Jews that run Monroe College. I have a feeling that’s why he got fed up and left. Dexter Hazel too, and Mr. McDonald. Since Alex Ephrim came to St Lucia from NY , instead of building on a good program, everything is now about money.
Say what you want about Mr Sinanan he is a honest man and can be trusted . These people calling the shots at Monroe now are so dirty ! This Vice President Alex Ephrim and his secretary. Everything they do is shady.
Why was it necessary to bring this school without accreditation? I hope parents and students are aware that the degrees which were obtained from Monroe has no value in the US.
She's a Secretary ! No work permit should be issued ! Send her back right now. Don't forget its a election year, do the right thing. Get this lady out of my Country !

Ramesh Sinanan put Monroe on the map. Now it's back to a diploma mill !
First and foremost Monroe College is accredited by US Middle Eastern States.
The person arrest in not a secretary, she is the HEAD of the Student Services Department with a masters degree!
Thirdly, Dexter Hazel was on a government bond from St. Kitts and after completed school he worked in St. Lucia until they threatened to come to collect to perform his national obligations. He too was corrupt and even left with the school's blackberry.
Sinnanan was arrogant. The same Rotary guys he kissed butts to are now dissing his sleezy ways. He was spending school's money on bringing government ministers to dinner and paying for golf membership at Sandals La Toc. He also had some unscrupulous dealing with a chef with was a lecturer at the institution
Sinnanan was suppose to pay for Kathy's work permit and because he knew he was gonna get fired for all the corruption that was exposed, he deliberately held it and as soon as he was fired, he called the Ministry of Labour.
Furthermore he is the one who told the Voice of her residence at Bay Gardens, no outsider would know that!!!

My friend at BOSL told me Sinnanan owes the bank months of mortgage payments for a house on the Mourne. I guess he is in a mess so he is trying to bring down the school.

This whole affair is rather unfortunate for ALL concerned. It even has repercussions for the future of educations in St. Lucia, especially if the narrative turns has a focus on St. Lucians extending the xenophobia regarding, St. Lucians living abroad, to foreigners coming to our shores to work.
I wonder what our CARICOM neighbhours are making of all this. The OECS has nominally made it possible for Member Country nationals to work in each other's countries. I wonder if there are going to be problems ahead with this too.
Now there we go again. We have found a dastard way of making very personal problems of foreign workers in St. Lucia, a party political or partisan issue. Now this is both ridiculous and insane!
The entire country can be painted and labeled as a very hostile place in which to work.
People, with all the ignorance walking around in expensive suits and ties, we will need to counter this with the expertise of outsiders to raise the skill levels at various stages in our education system. Fairty and Kenny have done a very poor job in this area. They have showed utmost bankruptcy of ideas regarding education.
No right-thinking person would extend the private problems of people into the realm of partisan politics. My God! Are we cursed as a people?
When I read such ignorance as what is posted in some of the commentaries above, and coming from some of our people, I feel a very deep sense of embarrassment and shame!
How is Mr Sinanan suppose to pay for the permit ? With his own money ? Dr Ephrim is the only one that can request checks at that school. Mr Ephrims personal driver Jerome even pick up the work permit.
The blogger who said, "degrees... obtained from Monroe has no value in the US," would be well advised to peruse: ED.gov U.S. Department of Education for accredition. while you are at it, it may be a good idea to enlightened you that among the Top Colleges and Universities in New York, Monroe College is way up there and is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and the New York State Board of Regents, and the Commissioner of Education (NYSBR).
STOP spreading lies about an institution that is doing us a great service in St Lucia - both in terms of education and corporate philantrophy.

Dr E. is directly responsible for getting his own secretary arrested. Instead of taking responsibility for anything he shifts blame. Playing it off with those fake smiles and corny jokes. Poor lady. Dr. E has been fully in charge since August. They quy came and formed his little click of snakes and opportunist (yes men). Its turning our school into a joke.
In the past months I often see this school begging for students at local shopping malls and street corners. What a shame.

Monroe in New York doesn't train students well and scams the federal government to pay tuition for low income students . They are doing the same thing here at the Hospitality Training Institute. I hope this current issue would shed light on their practices which borders on fraud.

On vacation in Brooklyn I saw this article in the NY Post sayin that Monroe spend 3 million dollars a year on advertisement . Evey Year ! That’s why I laugh when they come in my store a few weeks ago to beg for paint for some project they take on ?! These people for real ? All Dexter came to do was to sleep with all the gullible St.Lucian students. He achieved it for the most part with a razy bump neck but poor jo.

Monroe has about 400 students paying EC8000 every semester(every 4 months) , that’s EC 9.6 million dollars a year.
Then on top of that our government is giving them EC5000 for every person in their made up hospitality institute, they told me the first 150 people they get. So that’s another $750,000 per semester, EC 2.25 million a year.
I didn’t even ask about their masters degree or if they still have one. St Lucia ! , we can do a lot better for much less $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

I have worked for Monroe for many years and know that the college stands for making quality education accessible to populations that have been traditionally denied access
"Monroe College is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The Commission on Higher Education is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Commission on Recognition of Postsecondary Accreditation.
The college is authorized by the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York to confer the Associate in Science (A.S.), Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.), Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.), Bachelor of Science (B.S.), and Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degrees. Its curricula are registered by the State Education Department." (from their official webpage)
However, their business program is neither accredited by AACSB (which is the global gold standard in accreditation for business programs) NOR ACBSP (which is second tier behind the AACSB accreditation).
So it is one thing for the school on a whole to be accredited, but you also need to look at the program of study itself.

Mr. Sinanan was so fed up with the direction of that school. The lies, the deceit. backstabbing.
They were giving him everything he wanted in the settlement, but when Alex Ephrim lied in public about Mr Sinanan’s health, that’s when he decided to sue them. Monroe is sending its people in attack mode, but in court, we will see the flip side.
Alex Ephrim told Mr. Sinanan straight up,” I am not paying for this work permit “ “She comes and goes all the time” and “ She’s ony here for a year”
Most important Mr Sinanan still believes in the academics of Monroe and doesn’t have time to bash Monroe College, he’s busy at his new job. His problem is strictly with management.
If anything “Dr”. Ephrim is destroying Monroe College with his online self-paced PHD ordered from Waldden University .
Also, Sinanan drove the Prado (material things) it was the company car. He did pay for his own gas.
He didn’t have to be chauffeured around like a cripple in the Monroe Bus.
Sinnanan was just an angry man who got too swell headed for the job. He would use company resources to bring government ministers out to golf and dinners and play kiss butts with the Rotary people who don't even like him.
Please do not feel sorry for this Hindu man. Sinnanan has promised to bring Monroe down and I and other St. Lucian students will not let that happen.
He had his staff working long hours, even claiming they did not need a full hour for lunch. NY gave him the opportunity (along with Dr.Mc Donald)and empowerment to run a whole campus but he began abusing power and resources upon other things.
I think he worked hard initially but then got too big for his shoes and students were always complaining. I am nobody so he would not answer me if I greet him but he would open the doors for children of prominent parents coming to register.

one blogger posted a valid point in the accreditation of the school's programs and double checked the info to validate it. I beleive this is an issue the school needs to address in terms of its direction of it has plans to seek accreditation from these world bodies.

My advice to all Monroe's student, staff and past alumni is just take the high road. Don't stoop to this man's level and continue making your organization and by extension St. Lucia a better place.
Your philantropic work has been well received by the Methodist Combined School, the annual science fair, constitution park, all the staff employed making "great" salaries and the government of St. Lucia for the large amounts of tax received.

Our problem is not with the School but with Alex Epherim. He broke the "LAW" and will have to explain himself to the Judge.
The case of ms. Kathy Brecino should be fully investigated. If it is determined that the school, Monroe College, was obligated to pay for her work permit, she should be exonerated and the college should be charged. But if it is determined that she was responsible to pay for the work permit and simple ignored it, then, I suppose she should suffer the consequences.
In certain parts of America, such as in New York City, the US government is very linnet as far as work permit is concerned. Some of our natives are currently employed as nannies and babysitters all over America, I don’t see the US Government hunting them down.
Why be hash on the lady, come on fellows let’s temper justice with mercy.

Wow. The level of ignorance from our countrymen on this blog has reached new levels. This is why our country will never progress because we all suffer from crab in a barrel syndrome. I was never aware that you had to sit in classrooms for lectures, prepare projects and sit exams to earn a degree from a diploma mill. Every single St. Lucian student at Monroe College has been spat on by these hurtful comments but I am by no means surprised. Be strong my fellow students, your chance will come too for you to shine. Thanks to Monroe College, I am preparing to move to the far east where I will accept a fantastic job I was offered in one of the world's strongest economies. I deliberately didn't mention where I am going for fear that our St. Lucian ignorance will follow me there.
