Hey! Wake me up when the day arrives that CARICOM becomes anything more than a paper-pushing, dog-ear removing bureaucratic and financial black-hole.

Yes given the comments above La Rocque has his work cut out for him ....what we must understand is that first and foremost CARICOM is a political organization and it takes the good will of politicians to make things happen ... if it ain't there well crapaud smoke we pipe.....one may be sceptical of politicians but they wield a lot of power and if it is correctly then so much can be done successfully ...yes La Rocque needs the backing of ALL the governments , he has that of the secretariat, which I am sure will be loyal to a brother colleague who has experienced their frustratios and is aware of their concerns... so let us wish The new SG all the best for he has undertaken a task that few will laud him if he succeeds but he will find many detractors even before he officially begins to work the post ....

LaRocque will achieve only as much as CARICOM Heads want to achieve.

Which is a great deal of nothing. Trade their faces for the image joker on decks of cards, the royalties will amount to much more dollar for dollar spent on that pointless burdensome bureaucracy. Besides, the SG's job is a sinecure.
