Are there no St.Lucian woman qualified for the job? at a time when Lucians find it hard to find work the present government find it fit to appoint a foreign lawer to the job of mayor of Castries. The SLP is no longer the party of the poor, they have now shown clearly they are the party of the previlaged, the haves and the welloff. Her husband already gets a hefty salary plus a pension, for heavens sake, find a qualified Lucian worthy enough for a job.

I 2nd the motion on that!!! Kenny wants to keep things in the hands of rich and affluent. It's a shame for crying out loud.

My party blamed the UWP for populating its government with one type of person. Now they are in power its like the same thing all over again!

By a malaway a chance for crying out loud!!!

Isn't Shirley Lewis a St.Lucian by naturalization?

It does not matter who Kenny put in place these so called UWPs have a problem with it. It is either they are a rapist or now they are to rich. I want to know which competent person in St Lucia that could be appointed Mayor that cannot take care of themselves financially. I am mot talking about failures who are square pegs in round holes.

Since when St Lucians especially UWPs so sensitive about foreigners when they had COMPTON And MALLET leading St Lucia for decades. Were these men born in St Lucia?

@ ABOVE LET THEM ANSWER THAT??

THEM FULL OF PURE SH##@#$IT!!!

Cut the BS about calling persons who voted for the SLP a UWP. I voiced my opinion and I don't need anyone talking crap back to me. Being an SLP supporter does not mean that we are all one size fits all. If you don't agree with me fine but I am always going to say what is on my mind and how i fell. Choops!

Anonymous said...

Yes you speak your mind but let us give people especially qualified people a chance to perform before we criticize them. Why complain when we cannot do better?

workinprogress said...

and who says the person cannot do better? There are plenty of qualified St. Lucians willing and ready to work yet they are not recognized or selected. The SLP needs to realize that there are people in St. Lucia who are actually qualified to be in these positions and are not interested in STEP. Yes. Imagine that! There are St. Lucians who are qualified to do things beyond STEP and ti canal. All I see is the beginning of a boy's club mentality much like the one that wretched and disgraced former govt that thankfully was sent packing in 2011 had.

En Rouge En Rouge is who you all voted for so shut up soon there will be no jobs for Lucians in our own homeland.Zot ki tan.

Workinprogress you are not making any sense, any government taking office must or will put their team in place to carry out their mandate. Like it or not that is a must.

Why you even has to mention STEP, when the people who are engaged in STEP need employment to feed their families, they also have to eat and most times that is the kind of work they can do. STEP is not the only jobs that will be created in the country, that is why competent people are placed in the different offices. When St Lucians go overseas to find a job once they are QUALIFIED nobody would ask them where they are from and deprieve them of the job because of their nationality. So why we want to apply that rule in St Lucia?

workinprogress said...

and what exactly has been said about job creation apart from STEP? ZIP, NADA NOTHING. YES I will mention STEP. I am not against STEP people feeding their families, but you maybe fail to realize that there are other persons out there who are QUALIFIED , having attained HIGHER Education and are not employed. These people have to feed their families as well not just STEP people.
I am not against government bringing in their team but you bring in the same people of yesteryear and expect to get a different result? There are lots of QUALIFIED persons in St. Lucia who can hold these jobs that you speak of. What was the point of complaining when UWP did it? I don't care what you say. My bottom line is that people need jobs in this country and quite frankly I am not working for STEP having attained higher education

Workinprogress you know better than that stop behaving like that. Which newly elected government anywhere around the world who has a magic stick to create any meaningful jobs in less than 3 months. After all man come on be reasonable and fair.

I am very supportive of the ruling party, I make no bones about that. But in my humble opinion, I believe that the bread should be divided. One home got 2 whole loaves, while many has nothing to eat. The lady is indeed qualified, but another qualified unemployed person should have gotten that break,to help sooth the pain of this hard economic era.

jealous of who and what? certainly not you? exactly what little ones have I hatched and why are you so concerned about them? pedophile maybe??
Just what exactly is progressive about your vile attack on me for speaking my mind? Is it because you use all caps? Press the caps lock button and turn it off. I don't need to be jealous of anyone in St.Lucia. you have nothing for me to be jealous of. believe that.

On the issue of jobs. I expect to hear more about jobs BESIDES STEP that gov't plans to create. I don't expect them to create it in 3 months but I want to hear those plans. If their only preparation was for STEP, then that is a problem. That's being quite reasonable and fair

workinprogress.. you know the best answer to your worries about jobs, jobs by this administration is to WAIT FOR THE 2012 BUDGET IN APRIL .. then u can either criticize or praise them .. otherwise the STEP programme is a manifesto promise ... its also part of the slp gov. plans to accomplish and perhaps get qualified unemployed youths in good private sector jobs whats so wrong with that.. we tend to think that STEP is all about cleaning roads and cutting grass...

workinprogress said...

The campaign promise said Jobs Jobs Jobs. I will continue to ask wht the plans are. We spent 5 years under the leadership of an inept government so excuse me if I am a little anxious about my future. We can't afford to wait

This type of handpicking political appointments must stop. There should be a recruitment and selection procedure in place for such appointments. Firstly a pool of qualified candidates should be identified. This should be followed by an interview process, and the most suited candidate should be appointed.

Please Mr. PM, let us do it right this time.

THE MORE THINGS CHANGE THE MORE THEY REMAIN THE SAME. I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT THE YOUNG MINDS IN THIS COUNTRY WOULD HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO THESE POSITIONS, HOWEVER WHAT I SEE HAPPENING IS RECYCLES BEING REWARDED FOR WHAT EVER ROLE THEY PLAYED IN THE ELECTIONS. WHY WOULD A GENTLEMAN WHO CONSTANTLY SAYS HE WANTS TO PROPEL THE YOUTH DO THINGS CONTRARY TO WHAT HE PREACHES. WHY COULDN'T HE GET A YOUNG TALENTED MIND TO FILL IN THE POST OF ADVISOR RATHER THAN A MAN WHO IS ON HIS WAY OUT? I HOPE THE YOUNG PERSONS ARE TAKING NOTE. THESE POLITICIANS AREN”T FOR US. IF WE DO NOT COME TOGETHER AS YOUNG STLUCIANS AND DEMAND THAT OUR POLITICIANS DO WHATS RIGHT, THEN OUR HARD WORK OF EDUCATING OUR SELVES MAY BE IN VAIN OR STLUCIA MAY JUST LOSE TALENTS TO FOREIGN COUNTRIES.

blogger 3, you are no slp supporter. you are a uwp hack, so don't talk about your party. who you think you fooling. not me.

Anonymous said...

4:05 AM we cannot have our cake and eat it. Everytime a young person is placed in a position you all are the same ones to cry foul saying the youth has no experience and all that nonsense. Now you want to complain when experience people are placed. Some St Lucians do not know what they want, they are only manupilated by POLITICS.

you call vaughn lewis experience? The vaughn lewis boat has been pulled ashore blogger. Its derilect. Times have change and those recycles will have no positive effect on change in this country. No wonder our young talents migrate...
