Saint Lucians must begin to realise that all countries will not bow to their whim and fancies. Everything for us is a pappyshow; lack of seriousness. Thats what happened when a climate of complacency and laziness permeated our country for the last five years. This is the result. We have not awoken from our sleep. This is a new disppensation; things are different; but no, we continue to sleep on the job, in negotiations, and everything that will put us on the map.Well then our loss will be another island's gain..........

What role did manager play in confirming that what needed to be done was done. That's why he is there. If he was doing his job, he would have known that the proper mechanisms were not in place, thereby taking action to correct it.
Also if we are to deal on a professional level, the decision by the Trinidad body could be challenged in court. Can they prove that St. Lucia did not respond in time?

I hope The Voice realizes that people such as anonymous@ 9:43am are using their forum to tarnish people's reputation and character. The Voice needs to be patrolling this forum and making sure that persons with dark and mischievous agendas such as that anonymous do not have an avenue to carry out their misdeeds by posting so called "articles" filled with vicious, hateful, spiteful and nasty falsities,CREATED solely to sully someone because of their political view. The Voice must nip this in the bud from now. It is not right that these nameless, faceless persons use this forum and post these hateful messages and linked. It is MALICIOUS and should not be allowed. the Voice, please do not allow these characters to set this dangerous precedent on your forum. If it means that you have to start censoring this forum, then so be it.

I have never tarnished anyone's reputation online or in person you idiot. Unlike scum like you I have no interest in engaging in such malicious behaviour.

I hope you people who engage in that behaviour understand that there are LAWS against this. My goodness, what kindle of idle hands and idle minds would dedicate their entire lives to such disgusting and abhorrent deeds. Grow Up

Tell Trinidad go to hell; tell the OECS go to hell; tell CARICOM go to hell.
We should strife to be more like St.Martin, the Cayman Islands, the Bahamas, etc.
We are different; we are unique; and it's time for us to stop associating with these so-called friends of ours who look down upon us. In other words, it's time for us to forge our own way. That's the only way they'll respect us as a people and an island.

We don't have to participate in all these Caribbean activities. Let's be our own man and woman.

"We are different; we are unique; and it's time for us to stop associating with these so-called friends of ours who look down upon us."

We are indeed different! St Lucia has misguided leadership (UWP and Labour!), a stagnant economy, a complete lack of higher education which drives intelligent youngsters abroad and creates a brain drain, and is overly reliant on tourism (nothing of note is made here apart from rum).

Were St Lucia to tell Trini, the Caricom, the OECS to go to hell, we would sink into the sea which surrounds us, begging for the UK to throw us a floatation aid.

We are interdependent. Without our partners, we sink without a trace.

What a pitiful state of affairs for St Lucia's only international performing artiste (at least to me).

Sometimes, I feel quite ashamed of how St Lucian artistes are treated ... but am very jealous of Barbados for Rihanna, Allison Hinds and Crossfyah; and the other Caribbean islands who support and push their artistes on an international level ... look at Jamaica!!

St Lucia, apparently, still has not "got it"!! When will "they" realise that ALL cultural activities should be treated as BUSINESS events - this manner of thinking baffles me no end.

Although the CDF has greased my palm a few times, unfortunately, it seems that some of their paid E.D.'s (present and past) have not awoken and smelled the coffee!! Currently, they are a pain in the ass where honing the skills, and supporting St Lucian talent of all genres is concerned. In a nutshell, the words "Cultural" and "Development" seems lost on them, it is quite pathetic.

CDF, is, unfortunately for all of us St Lucian artistes, still stuck in the dark ages where talent is considered a "hobby" and not entrepreneurial - a livelihood!!

Back to Ricky-T's dilemma, it seems to me that his manager, Ian Sanchez really seems to have a little too much patience with the likes of CDF, including the other "powers" that be.

I could go on and on ... but ... FRUSTRATION!!!!!!

I don't believe in that at all, Trinidad know that St. Lucia is a threat to them when it comes to Soca, so they will always try to put down Ricky T. Lucians we really need to see the potential and impact we have out there, (they fraid wee lol)we have to be positive. We trying man we just need to try harder and have people that really have the art form at heart and stop the negativity because I deeply believe is a threat they see there so they keeping us out. One Love Lucia...
