this voice contribution is spot on .. well my limited fiscal understanding on bold new governance is speaking here.. we all are waiting with anticipation to the budget.. i suspect strongly and expect deeply that the focus on this upcoming budget might echo the sentiments of this post on the voicenewsp..

Bust slp did say that one major project should start b4 2012 lets see which one that will be ...my guess is the- national theatre of arts/culture.. there is already a design and other things in place its just a suitable area to build and then financing...

according to the manifesto of slp there are several major projects , we def need a new police fire station , although thats not major i've seen the new proposed fire station design its a 5 storey blg.. we def need to cut spending and develop our infastructure , sounds like an oxymoron right? but gov is too big well not as big as other countries but we need to trim down somewhere in my view. That should be the focus in the next couple yrs with innovative ideas to spur economic spending within stlucia as well as creating a minimum wage increase even if by a few cents so ppl can decide where their disposable income goes

LoL

I can't disagree with this. So true.

This article is so RIGHT. Who would have thought that in 238 sq miles it would be so tough to make good decisions? The wheel needs to be re-invented.

Right on target LPM. But let us give them and chance and see what solutions they have for the coming budget....we all just cannot wait.LOL

My 2 cents..

I don't expect much. Kenny is going to offer a pie in the sky for the budget, and some are going to believe it for a while until reality strikes.

Melanius,

Still crying for the lost elections?

Who pays attention to you?

Do you see yourself as needed?

Don't let those idiots break you down. There are loads of people who are interested in knowing what you all have to say.

You will always get an idiot out of a bunch of common sense people. This article is spot on and though we all await the budget, we have to agree that a budget has no validity if there is no money to back it up. The world is broke and our country is more broke so i am not expecting anything to get better in this current environment. My gripe with politicians is that they aught to tell it to us as it is and not promise manner when we cant even afford crackers. But then again with country with almost 60 % of its population being morons, who would blame the politicians for sounding what they want to hear.

The world is NOT broke. The 'old money' people and countries are broke but there is NEW money in new places. St Lucia needs to learn to think differently for this new world that is emerging all around us. In particular, forget the old colonial powers, including the US, most of them are becoming poor or on the way OUT.
St Lucians must STOP WHINING and start looking positively towards the future - OUR ISLAND IS POTENTIALLY VERY RICH and don't believe anyone who tells you otherwise. St Lucia is one of the four most beautiful islands in the world: I know, because I have seen them ALL. Visitors will always want to see it. BUT however, our infrastructure is TERRIBLE, especially our roads, which are also EXTREMELY DANGEROUS! The beauty and poor infrastructure of our island remain our eternal dilemma. Because the island's spectacular beauty is also the same factor that causes its road-building and development almost impossible to accomplish. Unless we solve this problem immediately, indeed, we will always be poor and a backward nation; forever known ONLY for our great POTENTIAL.

Mr. Alphonse,
We just proved that ideas alone before a semi-literate population, producing semi-educated idiot country-bookie politicians like Guy Joseph will not be enough to make the critical decisions.

LPM is still not on the radar screens of 99.9 percent of the population. LPM needs new leadership. It is a nice article, but who is reading it?
