No more hiding places

As an agricultist, I would think it would help if you would make a contribution towards solving the banana disease. A vast majority of educational achievers on the island only bark but don't bite, criticise but don't contribute. Peter, you seem to fit this profile.

This is one of the most biased stance I have read in a long time. Mr. Josie must then provide answers as to the reasons he never expose the former UWP administration for poor administration, corruption and incompetence.

Kenny is not without imperfections some of them glaring like the assignment of two of the most competent persons in the person of Dr. Raymond and Dr. Long. However, truth be told Dr. Anthony is still new in office and as he has indicated he will create the necessary changes as he sees fit. It is therefore pathetic that someone like Josie who has been a political veteran can have the gall to spew venomous attacks on Dr. Kenny Anthony when he has not been able to provide any type of answers or resolve to the problems created by the former incompetent UWP government.

I am hopeful that MY GOVERNMENT will make the necessary adjustment to certain portfolios and place Dr.Long and Dr. Raymond to head certain ministries. I am waiting eagerly to see Ms. Alvina in the Ministry of Social Transformation for it is there that see this lady can do a superb job. So far, Min. Hippolyte and Dr. Raymond appear to be doing the best job as a team to make our Government look good but given Dr. Raymond's qualification and experience as an Economist especially training in Public utilities and international development should guide Dr. Anthony to place him in a leading position at an appropriate ministry where he could be of greatest utility. As for the man himself, Dr.Long, he is DE MAN FOR THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH.

Some persons are very quick to judge Dr. Anthony but he will make the necessary adjustments at the right time. As it stands now, King is simply no match as a leader to Dr. Anthony. As such, the glaring hypocracies played out by some persons cannot be condoned even in the face of hatred to Dr. Anthony...over to you Josie.

For 9 years a Kenny Anthony government was an abject failure. We need not outline all the indiscretions.

What makes you think it will be any different now?

Kenny would promise everything in April during the budget, borrow $100 to $150 million and then do the same the following year. And the fools would wait expectantly for words words taxes and taxes.

There was no feedback on govt expenditure, the public service expanded by thousands (which is the only way Kenny ever created jobs)and the Public Accounts Committee never met.

Now you expect something different.

The fool above talking about Long of Raymond is one of the koolaid drinkers. What makes you think that anyone in the SLP has anything but the usual incompetence that has failed the Caribbean people?

The description of madness is doing the same think over and over again and expecting different results.

Our people have now begun to think and follow the same mindset of the average African American in the United States ghettos.

People, listen to Josie, that clueless, tired, washed out Posie: "Is there anyone with the legitimacy and gonads to unite the opposition forces and prepare a serious alternative to the present emptiness, bluff and spin?" Well that's a good question. So why doesn't Josie take the lead in uniting the Opposition? Because he has proven over and over, that with all his BIG MOUT and BLUSTER, he himself has no "legitimacy and gonads", only shattered dreams.

"Anthony must come straight or be forever condemned by history as one who offered so much and produced so little." Yep, Josie with his BIG MOUT continuing to just shout about de place as usual. The man is still caught in that 1960s time warp, where all he did was run his BIG MOUT! Endless CHAT, but in an entire article, he is yet to show ONE EXAMPLE of his accusations. You would think that if Peter Josie had at least a modicum of sincerity, he would at least wait for the Budget to be released, before he continued to rant and rave in BIG-MOUT mode. Finally, hear the opportunist and bluffer: "Let the budget come when it will. Only a decrease in the salaries of Ministers and top civil servants, and only as a start, will anyone be convinced that change has come at last to this fair land we call Saint Lucia." Yeah right! Ask Peter Josie if he ever asked Cornibert to reduce his allowances and PER DIEM when he was sucking the WINFRESH bone. Since when did reductions in Ministers little pappyshow salaries result in economic growth? Bet your bottom dollar, blogger, that Josie would never tolerate his salary being cut when he was a Civil Servant. In fact, this is the same Josie, who spent most of his life, when he was a more decent and honest activist, fighting for Civil Servants to get pay increases. This is tired old economics. The challenge to St. Lucia's development now is not about cutting people's salaries. It is about finding innovative ways to grow the economy. Josie studied a little economics in his time, and he knows very well that there is a basic "basket of goods" that does not allow you to scientifically and productively cut people's salaries. There is simply no viability in such crappy financial techniques. Ask Dove, ask La Corbiniere, ask Zephirin Francis, Dwight Venner or Vaughan Lewis. Peter "it's the economy, stupid"!

Josie is simply waiting to see the SLP government bow down in shame but the reality is such that this government is saturated with too many great talent in the person of Min. Hippolyte, Dr. Raymond, Dr.Lewis. Lorne and others.

The team at the Ministry of Commerce is telling of two individuals who can make things happen very well. Can anyone point to any person on the former UWP administration who can be compared to Ms. Hippolyte and Dr. Raymond. NO! Not one!

I heard Dr. Long speak on issues of health recently, and there is no way Mondesir could have addressed health issues so effectively.

Like the previous Blogger, I am waiting eagerly to see Dr. Raymond and Dr. Long place in Ministries where they can make significant impact. That is not to say that Dr. Raymond is not but a man of his talent, qualification and international experience should be placed in a more leading position. I have the faith in my government that this will be done especially for Dr. Raymond and Dr. Long.

Keep dreaming.

Will the SLP, irrespective of which person, make any attempt to get feedback on government expenditures AFTER the budget?

Will any attempt be made to cut the public service and make it more efficient?

In fact MORE persons will be added to the payroll to be paid for by taxpayers or borrowed in their names.

There will only be the pappyshow so-called change to the budget process even as it is business as usual with taxing, borrowing and spending.

It is my hope that Dr. Anthony and his team are taking notes on the presenting concerns of the electorate especially their own supporters.

They should handle their business well lest they be brought to shame like the incompetent former UWP government. Like the previous Bloggers I think they should definitely consider the truly qualified and deserving like Dr. Long and Dr. Raymond to fit in appropriate leadership roles.

Too many people are out there talking about what seems to be vindictiveness, and victimization of SLP supporters by my government.
