The Prime Minister’s Budget Speech

You're so lost if you think this budget is adequate, and will help the economic viability of St.Lucia.

Shuffling tax payers money around is voodoo economics and creative politicking.

What is required is economic growth..how can this budget achieve such?

The writer @ 11:29 does not know a single thing about economics. What a fool St. Lucians are making of themselves thinking that obstructionist opposition is best way of exposing their ignorance.

If you're going to write on a subject matter such as this, at least me the readers on a level and provide insight an perspective.

Have a read of this article:

http://www.thevoiceslu.com/let_and_op/2012/may/17_05_12/A_look.htm

Instead of giving waivers to over 15,000 St Lucians, Auguste recommended that diverse social businesses be designed to help these persons cover their debt in the long term in a less costly and productive manner.

This, according to Auguste, is vital to the future integrity, viability and reputability of St Lucia. He said he would be disheartened to see the country fall into a socio-economic trap as a result of the ills of the political system.

To put it very charitably, our well-known clowns in opposition, on the airwaves and on TV have not the foggiest idea how to discuss a budget sensibly. That is why one of our biggest buffoons has labelled it a yard fowl budget. What a jackass statement that passes for informed commentary.

I have read the whole speech (3 hours!) in detail and, in essence, I like it.
................
Why would anyone read that nonsense?

inviting the US/UK Military to come and give a talk to our ‘don’t know what or where we going’ street boys about the benefits of a career in the US/UK Army?
.................
Mentally retarded, our street boys do not qualify for any Army.

I agree that the boys should go the army some of them like to fight anyways. They will get a competitive salary, health benefits most of which are free, extensive travelling, opportunity to do a higher qualification, British 'papers' and many other benefits. It would boost their confidence, humble them and hopefully provide for their families in Saint Lucia!
