When Belief is More Important than Behaviour

Jason,

I admit, your articles are generally well written and most times remarkably entertaining and comical. Your wit and inquires challenging the status quo has caused many people to take a second look at what they were taught through indoctrination and has certainly benefited the thinking man.

I have accepted the reality of Life beyond the Grave based on extrapolating the fact that five billion years ago we were without life.

Surah Al-Baqara

How can ye reject the faith in Allah? Seeing that ye were without life, and He gave you life; then will He cause you to die, and will again bring you to life; and again to Him will ye return. (28)

It is He Who hath created for you all things that are on earth; then He turned to heaven and made them into seven firmaments; and of all things He hath perfect knowledge. (29)

Your statement, “God knows our fate and therefore our deeds in this life have no effect on the outcome (of life)”

Are you saying that if I possessed knowledge that tomorrow you would deposit $500.00 at Scotia Bank in the Boulevard, it would make no difference if you did or didn't do it? By making the deposit your ATM card would be functional, and bills would be paid; so your actions have consequences, even if I knew about them in advance.

My point in, God has knowledge of the past and future, and allows us to operate within parameters.

Surah Al-Isra

Give full measure when ye measure, and weigh with a balance that is straight: that is the most fitting and the most advantageous in the final determination. (35)

And pursue not that of which thou hast no knowledge; for every act of hearing, or of seeing or of (feeling in) will be inquired into (on the Day of Reckoning). (36)

Nor walk on the earth with insolence: for thou canst not rend the earth asunder, nor reach the mountains in height. (37)
