Constructive Criticism is Healthy

We should recall Dr Anthony was summoned to St. Lucia in 1997 from his role as a legal advisor to CARICOM to salvage the SLP. To date, it is now approximately 18 years and the good doctor has fulfilled and surpassed his role and can no longer provide what is required to guide Fair Helen within the turbulence we presently face.

The inherent inconsistency of this writer is astonishing. How comes it that one has "fulfilled and surpassed his role" and the job has not been done to turn around the economy? Have we moved, or are shifting labour from the public/civil service paper-pushing dog-ear-removing sector into the private sector on a sustainable basis. That is the W. Arthur Lewis model.

Why haven't we yet tried it?

We dance, sing about and do everything else, but discuss and follow the relevant thoughts of our Nobel laureates.

Aren't we still in almost in the same type of economy we had before Kenny? What about the HDI? Has this significantly improved?

He was "summoned" not because his ideas, but because two leading members of the hierarchy of the SLP thought that the boy wonder could win them the government.

It had nothing to do with any other ability than to do just that.

Is the writer beguiled by STEP, a cynical series of annual down-payments of vote purchases, disguised as poverty reduction?

OK. It represents the acme of SLP economic innovation.

The writer of this story may take small comfort that even the IMF is fooled.

But is the writer suffering from some sort of mental fog?
