“Conditions Are Not Unique”

I hate the intellectual dishonesty and the soft bigotry of low expectations. It works for some, especially idiots. But we the people remain stuck with the harsh consequences of such unalloyed stupidity.

To try to rationalize the downgrade by referring to the bad experiences of other countries is to invite the population to accept the socialist approach of accepting unending misery as an acceptable way of life.

It is as if the PM is preparing the country to accept the nothingness behind the mirage of the SLP's "better days" promised to the people, as in the country of his Communist Cuban Castro brethren since the 1960s.

The rational by the Kenny Anthony administration to the recent down grade characterizing it as “NO CAUSE FOR CONCERN” is a simple explanation of the inability of this administration to understand in economic and financial terms what’s at stake.

The administration is trying to taper the downgrade with the $130 million decrease in the budget- but this is absurd. The budget of 2011/12 was blotted and as such it underachieved. The fiscal consolidation that is required is absent to curtail the $140 million in interest payment and a $349million deficit.

The difficult decision that has to be made is not present. The policy initiatives are absent and the strategies adopted by the Kenny Anthony administration are failing in order to restore St.Lucia’s future.

I suggest that the Kenny Anthony get a serious education on the economic and fiscal situation that currently faces Saint Lucia because clearly, this latest statement explains everything.

The Kenny Anthony administration is lost in LaLa –Land!!!

Now he is going to talk 'strategy'. Talk about the blind leading the blind. It is like a mule in a donkey race.

Like the past administration, this one fails to demonstrate even a flicker of the light of any kind of understanding to effectively manage the national debt.

The Band-Aid was applied all round.

Yet, all of that snow job of trying to hide behind an avalanche of words, the PM failed to convince even the so-called experts that he has a strategy.

He got them tied up. But they saw neither clarity, nor wisdom nor leadership. Expenditure reduction is a tactical move. It does not qualify as a national strategy.

If some other countries facing the same downgrade in rating because of bad leadership thats a very poor excuse of not being able to run and LEAD a country.
What we need is a professional with business experience as leader, not a man who looking for poor excuses for his mismanagement and incompetence.
Just look at his ministers, who have any serious business experience?

...but the same has to be said for the past government
