How exactly will this survey be conducted; through questionnaires? I hope not, as in the case of the SLTB and SLU Jazz. The results of such surveys are often compromised and severely skewed by prevailing conditions.
With the SLTB, no one who is jet-lagged after a six- or eight-hour flight can be counted on to provide honest, in-depth answers upon arrival at a foreign airport. As for what the Tourism Ministry is suggesting at Carnival venues, even worse. People primed on alcohol, blaring music, and excitement will hardly deliver reliable responses.
For such activities, focus groups would be a better research method. Focus groups, whilst costlier and time-consuming, provide for richer, more in-depth data--when every stakeholder segment is represented. Do better.
