Hero Or Traitor Is The Question

The harsh reality of 'Big Brother': this surveillance has been happening for years--thanks in small measure to the draconian Patriot Act. Eavesdropping isn't that difficult to detect, however.

Try holding up a phone receiver to a laptop's built-in mic, and you may experience screeching feedback. Sometimes, there's a tonal difference/delay when a call is placed or voices can be heard on the other end. What some dismiss as a crossed line is quite possibly an open line.

Ironic that the US has invaded foreign countries in the pursuit of freedom, even as their own citizens' freedoms are quietly eroding. This type of monitoring has the potential to be abused and misused--paving the way for profiling, paranoia, and mass hysteria.

The Guardian reporter who broke the story has promised more frightening revelations in the coming weeks and months. People revere or demonize whistleblowers, depending on the nature of their implication in the matter.

Yes, “A change has come to America”. Words of Obama after becoming President. What change? Continued wars-of-aggression, bombing of Libya and the murder of Khadafi, murder of thousands of innocent women and children by Drones because they desire to be rid of America's pornography and corruption? But wait, that was not the subject of this discussion, was it? The promise of greater transparency of the working of government by Obama; remember? Or was that a bad prank?

But since that time, the Obama administration has sought to conceal information in several high-profile court cases, in an effort that civil libertarians say amounts to covering up crimes committed by the Bush administration. The Justice dept. has refused to reveal the nature of the Surveillance of lawyers representing detainees at Guantánamo Bay who are imprisoned without trial. Many of these people are known to have committed no crime, and are presently engaged in a hunger-strike where they are subjected to continued torture by medical personnel with tubes inserted into their stomachs to prevent them from resisting this illegal imprisonment.

Word of the day:

Transparent
adjective
1.
impenetrable to light; not allowing light to pass through.
2.
not transmitting radiation, sound, heat, etc.
3.
not shining or bright; dark; dull.
4.
hard to understand; not clear or lucid; obscure: The problem remains opaque despite explanations.
5.
dull, stupid, or unintelligent.

Pope Francis: 'There's a Gay Lobby In The Church'

There is also one in the Roman Catholic church in St.lucia. That fact was revealed to me just last week. That was not unexpected as I always had a suspicion, but the shock of it all, this has been going on for several years, under the eyes of the very church that sends their minions to the homes of the faithful, too old or sick to come out to church, not knowing where these filthy hands that places the losti on the tongue of the old and sick have been. It was not only shocking but I felt sick to my stomach, knowing that one of the old is a close relative of mine, and I'm wondering, at her age, whether it's better not to tell her.

the people who read the Voice were made aware of this den of abomination years ago. Many of them however, remain in a state of denial, preferring to worship that Naked white man as their god.

One has to be mentally ill to invite these perverts into their homes with their wives and children.

I have been labelled, "madman" by the Negro slaves of White supremacy, but now the Pontiff of Rome has admitted who is the real "Madman".

what is amazing is with such a disclosure being made by the "Boss man" of the Romans, Michael and the rest of these keep-the-people's-attention distracted, will make no mention of these obnoxious actions at the Vatican by this gay mafia.

This cabal of Geriatric Bullers known for the practice of bukkake, held Pope Benedict XVI hostage through Blackmail and pecuniary malfeasance forcing him to abandon the office of Pontiff and go into exile fearing for his own safety.

you would think that the paid reporters at he voice would be informing the ignorant Lucian public of these matters, instead of writing about the smell of Cannabis in Castries.

In St. Lucia the people we really need to be eavesdropping are the politicians who are supposed to be taking care of our country; but who the people do not trust.

To know exactly what they are up to; relevant to our country; we need to put a system like this on them .We as a country would be far better off for this.

The potential for abuse is too great a risk. Unnecessary, constant monitoring leads to a caged bird existence-it's too intrusive. Any corrupt individual can use the information obtained to facilitate insider trading, harrass perceived enemies, or become an informant for rogue groups. The outcome of so many things/events can be altered with the forebearance of "private" information.

They claim that the network excludes Americans in the US, but have said nothing about the several hard-working/educated immigrants who've adopted the US as their home.

BURNETT: Tim, is there any way, obviously, there is a voice mail they can try to get the phone companies to give that up at this point. It's not a voice mail. It's just a conversation. There's no way they actually can find out what happened, right, unless she tells them?

CLEMENTE: No, there is a way. We certainly have ways in national security investigations to find out exactly what was said in that conversation. It's not necessarily something that the FBI is going to want to present in court, but it may help lead the investigation and/or lead to questioning of her. We certainly can find that out.

BURNETT: So they can actually get that? People are saying, look, that is incredible.

CLEMENTE: No, welcome to America. All of that stuff is being captured as we speak whether we know it or like it or not.

Clemente’s comments completely undermine Rep. Rogers’ claim that the government is not recording Americans’ phone calls, and seem to contradict Mueller’s claim that any surveillance that exists is “particularized” according to court orders. Unfortunately, the remarkable statement was buried under the Boston bombings media frenzy, and seems to have been forgotten amidst the latest revelations of NSA domestic spying.
