Nobody for State, Everybody for Self!

You have no concept of the implications of inflation on everyone's pockets. Do you not understand that a rise in basic commodities such as water, fuel, rice, sugar and flour--heck, even transportation--can dramatically increase the cost of living? Thereby making everyone poorer, not only the poor.

Do you know how many sectors depend on these commodities? If you understand a basic supply chain you would be able to recognize the domino effect that "a few cents" can have. Stop subjecting serious issues to misinformation disguised as a layman's opinion.

This layman is about laying eggs and behaving like a hen, making a hell of a lot of noise on the paling in broadcasting to the world that it has laid an egg!

Our knowledge of economics is so thin that most of the time from top to bottom in society most people are talking shate.

If more people were able to better understand the snowball impact of just one of those sectors for example, the price rise in transportation fuel cost and look at the ripple effects of that price rise on almost everything else in Saint Lucia, such industrial grade crap would perhaps not have been brought up for consideration.

I, for one, am sick and tired of the attention-craving industrial grade crap that routinely appears in this column for public consumption.

Not so sure why the people who are commenting are so negative. This is article is the truth. A lot of Lucians are only looking for Freeness/A hand out. The writer clearly states he knows that there are persons who need help but a proper audit of them needs to be done.
You know how many people have money to buy Rum but dont feed their many children properly ? A whole lot of Lucians.

Boy look around you. The state of Saint Lucia is working for the perpetuation of parties by giving with one hand to their yard fowls and taking away from those working with the other. The state is not a benign entity. Today, more than ever it is very hostile to one section of the population or another as long as that section is opposed to the party currently running the state. I came and found it so. Every party is for itself. No party is for all Saint Lucians. Stop talking sh t.
