It certainly is not looking good for the people of St. Lucia. As a potential investor; I am very hesitant to do business there. This place is much too small for that type of consistent and increasing crime. Not a good signal for those who would like to establish business ventures there.

TO the above comment, you are right but only to an extent. Why allow a few idiots to hinder your business venture. You turning the other way and thinking twice about establishing business on the island does not help us in anyway. How about you come...provide employment...and others will follow...let the idiots wipe out one another...is your business going to be in City Gate...I think not...so please stop feeding the flame that is to burn the island down...don't hesitate..

I agree blogger; but very lately, I am talking about the past three years, since I have been following economic and social developments in your country; there have been so many murders; and many have not been through the courts and still many remain unsolved.

I really do love St. Lucia but there must be a concerted effort by all citizens to adopt a zero tolerance to reckless, and violent and disrespectful behaviour. There is just too much of the latter and it really causes one to think twice about coming; and that includes st. lucians living abroad that I talk to often.

I want to return to my parents country and invest but this climate is turning me off the idea. I have to think of my families safety. I certainly do not want to live in fear or worse, some gated community. Like the previous blogger, it is not the detection rate does not fill me with confidence.

I understand where both of you are coming from..and It is about time we as a country pursue the matter on a different level and different approach...we should not hesitate to ask for outside assistance to curb the crime...but once again I bring the point...if the island's people are busy not focusing on lazing around and actually be employed the likeliness of these incidents will decrease over time. From observation I realize we permit too much of our young men to laze around...that needs to stop...too often do we turn our heads to illegal or inappropriate acts of crime..this is coming from a 20 year old...eager to see the country flourish because it has so potential hidden away..I just wish I had the ability to launch them...to the bloggers...feel free contact me should you have anything you would like to know further..aleckgf1322 @ hotmail.

Btw...City Gate is not a Gated Community it is the slums of Castries...Marchand to be more specific.
