Mr de Beauville ...

Again, St Lucians are always taken for granted, whether it be in arts and entertainment or sports arenas.

Unfortunately, these three categories do not fit into the subjects of "livelihood", "business", "standards", "principles".

St Lucians will always see these categories as "hobbies" - instead of nation building and pride. It is high time, we. as the players, encourage the change of thinking this way around.

As the old saying goes: "If you build it, they will come". With perseverance: it will happen where people WILL BE paid for their services, therefore ensuring adequate ticket sales, for arts, entertainment and sports.

This "winds of change" MUST begin from the responsible ministries. They should know who they are.

I am always drawn to think, that most St Lucians have this cultural mentality instilled in them, because we have no national museum, no national art gallery, our libraries are inadequate, no visual "hall of fame" for our St Lucian icons - most of whom are in the arts and sports. This is truly shameful!!

Kudos to you Mr de Beauville for a timely article.
