As I read this Article I kept wondering why this writing was so one-sided. But I got the answer. The writer once worked for Michael Chastanet.
Do some prpoer research. State the facts, conduct fundamental analysis in your narrative and allow the readers to intelligently come to their own conclusions.
@ above: I think that since the piece is not a NEWS ITEM but rather an OPINION PIECE, the writer has the leeway to speak his mind on the issue as he sees fit. Also, had he been meted out a bad experience while working there, I would also have to accept that he would have highlighted that.
I'm employed with CFL at the moment and like he said, the conditions here are way better than most government departments. I started out as a low-level employee and I'm now in a management position.
Will Saint Lucians ever find a job they really like or feel proud of? It seems like every damn job on this island is being viewed as slavery. Until, of course, they run to Canada, England or the States and find themselves doing just about anything to survive in de odder people country. Grow up, Saint Lucians. Cherish your jobs or better yet, CREATE jobs for yourselves!
To take over GFL Supermarket on whatever price is still a damn high financel risk. Just look around at Baywalk Mall, how many customers you see there? The whole Mall is a financial desaster and hopefully no Bank will collapse on the adventure to finance this.
These parrots are so negative, damn! The economies of scales inherent in such a transaction is good for the St.Lucian customer;and for those who don't know:some 50 years ago Michael Chasnet use to be on the wharfs loading his fathers'boats with produce bound for Barbados.I can see him now,in his white T-shirt and kakhi pants.Michael your autobiography is long overdue!

There are two kinds of people in the world:those who make things happen; and those who ask: what happen!!
