Celebrating Emancipation – A Tale of Two Monuments

If Saint Lucians were truly emancipated, they would not have had a foreigner posing as the so-called 'father of the nation' and with menopausal females touting this as something to celebrate. Put that god damn statue of this despicable political victimizer in the cemetery. He took refuge from his fishing village and came here punishing born and bred locals for not voting for him. The effrontery of these god damn foreigners!

Why does evil prosper? Because of ppl like you Anonymous. Sir John was an asset to St.Lucia. Try to achieve half of the things he did for his country. We are all enjoying everything the benefits of his work.
You are deliberately choosing to be ungrateful.

I always wondered what the delay with that project was about. Thank you writer for bringing to light the facts as you have in this column.
Many jealous, naysayers will try to tarnish Sir john's legacy but they won't get very far with their stupidity and ignorance. Let's hope the gov't can display the higher level of consciousness you are appealing for. I fully support the call.
