AN HISTORIC VISIT

More than any other political figure in modern history, Nelson Mandela has been a towering source of inspiration for many around the world. In life, he was gracious and forgiving. He understood well that the art of nation building could never be attainable in South Africa if the policy of his ANC government was to exclude input from persons of differing political persuasion.
It was his progressive mind-set, and his willingness to resist the temptation to embrace a narrow and selfish attitude to governance, that enabled Nelson Mandela to unite millions of South Africans, of all colours, behind his government in 1994.
Sadly, it's a lesson that a great number of our leaders in Saint Lucia and the wider Caribbean have yet to learn.
Therefore, given the symbolism of national unity that Mandela represented in life, this may be an opportune moment for our leaders in Saint Lucia and the Caribbean to honour his legacy by embracing the principles for which he stood.
The Lucian People's Movement (LPM) joins the people of South Africa, and indeed the world, in honouring the enormous contribution that Nelson Mandela made towards protecting the freedom and rights of all people. --LPM--

Oh please; get those awful memories of John Compton and his rule of Saint Lucia off this paper.

We do not wish to remember ANYTHING of this REGIME.

Knowing what this regime has done to so many St. Lucians; they should be embarrassed putting themselves out alongside Nelson Mandela and President Obama gave these types of wretches the right speech today in South Africa.

Blogger Number 2 you could not have said it better.

These black leaders in our Region should learn from Mandela what political service is all about. That is to say; being SERVANTS of the people they were put there to serve. Which in fact; they beg us to vote for them to serve us.

Not to fill their pockets with ill-gotten gains and stolen wealth from the backs of the downtrodden and hard-working masses of the people in their country.

There is only one honourable person in that picture, and I don't have to tell you who that is.
The hypocrisy of some people. Here is a man who spent a lifetime trying to do
some good for his people, and standing by is a couple who lived high because you people let them.
There is a disconnect here and I just can't figure it out.
This is St. Lucia for you.

Why the hell must one force Saint Lucians to read anything relating to genuine leadership and personal sacrifice for a nation goals, and include that foreigner, imposter, and arch-victimizer, His Holiness, the Luciferian, Holy Saint John Compton?

Why don't they just bury such pictures at sea? This picture does enormous violence to the memory of Nelson Mandela.

Damn it. Seeing this picture of the Jab and the La Jablesse makes me vomit.

Trash! Not impressed. It makes me feel like I just saw a load of pig's excreta down in the drains at conway.

This is a man who impregnated so many young St. Lucian women; and shipped them to London, New-york and Canada.

That is a fact. One of my girl-friends is one of those girls impregnated in Saltibus; St. Lucia. She is now in New-York. Was an innocent young lady. Never had a man.

Please don not insult us referring to this as the father of the nation.

I keep on telling these people, this 'father of the nation' glosses over just too much. It is an anathema to all moral and right thinking people.

To grab and hog political power under the circumstances and the relished victimization activities that took place under John Compton's before demitting office, and insulting a born and bred national, is one thing.

To eventually replace that person with KNOWN political thugs, maggots and scum, like the drug baron, a cabinet-full of thieves and liars, that moron from the country side, and that US con-artist jailbird can be regarded as nothing short of an unpardonable sin and a gross national insult.

Let the dead bury the dead.
