Very well said, I couldn't put it any better.
It is time some one stand up to political bullying and intimidation.
I am fearful for the direction St. Lucia is going with it's flirtation with the clowns in Venezuela and Colombia.
In the long run guess who will suffer? Somebody will have to pay for this.

The charge of socialism really seems hollow and ridiculous. The writer does not support his accusation of socialism with any evidence of the so-called socialist moves. He repeats those hackneyed phrases with which the ultra conservatives and Tea-partyers assail Obama. His claim that socialism has no place in western democracy is clearly at odds with the truth. France , England and Norway as well as other western European countries have in recent times been led by administrations with a socialist agenda. There are very many things wrong with the present administration; enough to ran a successful campaign against it and to defeat it. No need to write a silly cliche-ridden article.

I wonder how the present government of St.Lucia feels as Iran who is a friend of Venezuela is starting to ally themselves with the west.

I have a strong feeling that this SLP government is going to destroy itself in trying to silence the people. There is no place left in today's world for this form of government, our so call media association wants to be in the government good side so they're not gonna say anything to upset KING KENNY but I still have confidence that the people will stand up and demonstrate against injustices and stop these loosers from taking away our freedom of speech.

You people just don't get it. Poleon deserves every damn bit of the position he's in. His character has been an irresponsible & bias "moutter" for years. He has allowed callers to express on his talk show program and bellow off the most irresponsible stories without any caution or correction by him, even when he should know better as a news anchor & media worker. The chickens just came home to roast, that's all!

Chickens come home to roast? How foolish!!! If the SLP government so bad why they didn't they go after the newspaper that published the original story? They know what tree they are able to climb. Only in our small island they can scare people from engaging in free speech.

What's with all those silly comments about losing our freedom!! Freedom of expression carries with it some serious responsibility. Journalists have a responsibility not to deliberately peddle untruths or to be reckless with the information they put out there. This government has not been the first to take the media to task. Don't forget, people, that both Rick Wayne and George Odlum have at different times been sued by Sir John Compton over information that they put out in the papers. So let us not pretend that this is the first time that this has happened or that it only happens in St Lucia.

Hey why does such a badly written article get into the papers. Are we still so mired in mediocrity that we should be served with this kind of nonsense?

There are fools who think "FREE SPEECH" is to be irresponsible, unworthy, untruthful, distrustful & to create & misrepresent the facts. Some examples are in the form of initials such as T.P., R.W., etc........

That is what you get when you give khaki-coloured rustics with a colonial slave and plantation mentality the reins of power. John Compton before him, another one-such piled on similar levels of deceit and conceit.

The idiot yes-men, big-bellied and abysmally stupid ignoramuses, drug barons and con-artists that this one surrounded himself with, saved the larger population from continued humiliation and country-bookie arrogance.

We are not out of the woods yet. UWP has another one-such under development, in waiting with bated breath, panting to attack the dark-coloured people once again! Just let the campaign handouts continue to dazzle the growing indigent population created by these political manipulators. The more things change, the more they remain the same.

The Socialistic SLP, aligned with Cuba and deeper with Latin American dictatorships, is destined to tighten the screws further and remain exploiting people, struggling under a self-made King for the rest of his life!

Like the previous King, we have a clueless Prime Minister, someone said King Midas in Reverse, who is just full of prime, strutting his inanities on the regional stage telling the rest of CARICOM, we are in this together. Nobody who is control of faculties stings along the words we and Caricom so close to each other or in the same sentence.

Today as, wise people all know that Caricom is little more than a whole set of pie-in-the-sky agreements, that have little positive impact on the lives of our largely dumb ganja-smoking young electorate in the Caribbean, who keep on dancing to "Everything gonna be alright". Poor chaps, they are just too dumb or high to know the difference!

Am I happy to defend free speech for all politicians. Whoppie!

We all know what this entails: "lies, damn lies and statistics". Des bandes couyons!

Timothy Poleon certainly lacks character. He would easily have won in court against those incompetent jackals ruining this country. Instead like so many Lucians he chose his pocket over pride and honor. This guy was offered pro bono legal help from a number of St. Lucian lawyers instead he throws away his entire good name to pacify these dubious characters running St. Lucia

After the high-handed British societal rejects better known as Administrators did their meanest, we have the persistent legacy of the slave plantation holdouts, repeating the same old crap.

They want to continue to fool us into thinking that we are operating in a democracy, yet these reprobates think that they beyond reproach and beyond criticism. Today's plantation-type reprobates they suck!

I can't believe he apologized instead of going to court. There's a high likelihood he would have won. Why didn't they sue the person who wrote the article? I guess they chose the easiest target.

Excellent article. Pipe Dreamers indeed.

Listening to Phillip La Corbiniere talk to Police Officers at the Gaiety Awards Evening; about New legislation for GREATER OVERSIGHT of the Police Force; must be examined carefully and clinically.

Like the NTN; the Labour Party's obvious plan is to suppress the people of this country in all areas and in all possible forms. But this Labour Party just won't survive another term in Office; that is if they finish this one.

The S.T.E.P. beggars form a huge voting chunk of easily satisfied aimless and shiftless idiot, interested in making a quick dollar any way they can. They will put them back into power. Or, the drug baron will reassert himself.

We are between a rock and a very hard place. Just too many backward uneducated and lazy idiots roaming our streets in support of those forever campaigning that go on to form the next idiot government. I don't hold out much hope for positive change, with so many bastards around the place. Export them!
