Productivity Is Down

I am aghast at the empty rhetoric bring bandied about in the country about productivity. Either the communications are mere PR or those making the statements do not fully understand what they are saying.

If all, what is now just hot air, is not backed up with a national and institutional support and mechanisms will we have to wait for next year to remember about productivity in another round of expatiated blather on the matter?

Most from the top down only seem to understand labour productivity. And they blast away at worker attitude.

Productivity is not religion. People will not be coerced. They have to be induced or REWARDED.

Until most of all the talkers become aware of the business and economic management issues related to productivity, then we will have this national circus. Productivity increases demand institutionalization.

Institutionalization is part and parcel of the reward system. The "demonstration effect" of NICE and STEP is very discouraging start.

When will taxpayers stop seeing "idle time" rewarded by government. We have repeated patterns of gang members who get paid as they just watch others do the work. Then another group of gang members are paid to legitimately supervise all these other two gang members "at work".
