if i remember well one government staff earlier on pointed out the extra cost from a 2 lane to a 4 lane bridge is aprox.27%

Pierre has been caught lying; but if the final product turns out to be good, people will quickly forget about the cost and the lies.

-I do think the Government has some explaining to do. Did they go for a higher priced bridge because they realised that it would be paid for by the World Bank. I smell kick back here.....put in a big expenditure budget....and build the bridge for less. Lets all call it the Million Dollar Bridge for ever that way we the people will be reminded of the way the SLP pissed in our eyes.

In parliament when Pierre said it was not the SLP government that made the design for an 11 million dollar bridge, it was the UWP, the Prime minister quickly ask him are you serious and Pierre answered NO. Pierre himself said he was lying, listen to the recording again.

These colonial-type political shysters can only get jackasses NOT to see through their usual shayte.

The master business icon baled out just before the failed business strategies got his employer to drop like a piece of lead from the skies.

Airlift strategist par excellence, gave money, hands over fist to AA to freight air from Puerto Rico to Saint Lucia (genius!)

Only real dummies can hail this superlative piece of political brilliance as record breaking achievement. Saint Lucians continue to stamp themselves as the real jackasses of the world every time they praise such financial management foolishness.

Hence, the UWP have rediscovered how good management crap really is. They have aligned their crap- shooter to take them through yet another round with his court jester by his side. Always in tow.

A basic understanding of business, with a pinch of genuine non-island HONESTY would have informed these two idiots that whoever the supplier happens to be, contracted prices plus the obligatory transportation costs, factor in PREVENTING ANY AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION OF SUPPLY PRICE REDUCTIONS TO BE PASSED DOWN TO THE LOCAL END-USERS anywhere in the world. This happens even in free-market economies. Ours is not.

Lower world oil prices continue to worsen and erode the balance of payments position of Venezuela's economy. All those as usual, reactively looking through the rose-coloured glasses of the perilously dangerous oil-supply agreement with Venezuela had better become aware. With the keystone pipeline and fracking added into the supply mix, good luck and best wishes to all the Petro-Caribe optimists. Coming very soon, Saint Lucia may be in dire need of some.

"TARZAN; Savage White Man, Lord of The Black People of Africa"
- Comments by Imam W. Deen Mohammed

"Tarzan a savage white man, not a civilized white man. Tarzan, a half naked savage white man who can't even talk, he had to holler..but he is THE LORD OVER THE BLACK PEOPLE OF AFRICA. That's the kind of pictures, that's the kind of cartoons, that's the kind of movies they showed to your young children two and three and four generations back. I saw it. (This was done) To condition our minds to believe that their cheapest (uncivilized) white man is Lord among your (African) ancestors".
- Imam W. Deen Mohammed from his lecture "A New African-American Genesis." 1986
In 2016 Warner Brothers will be releasing a new Tarzan movie staring Alexander Caros, Samuel Jackson and Christof Walts. Of corse they will try to make it more "politically correct" for this new modern era but never forget it's true origins.

6:53,
Is Petro Caribe in trouble then? Or, is that just some changes are to be expected?

Mutt and Jeff have very very shifty eyes. I could trust either doing business with either. I would carry my drinks with me when either are near.

From my Engineering eyes I see potential problems with the Construction.
#1) what is this blue coloured hut or house doing so close to the abutment to the bridge?
#2) what comprises the retaining Wall at both ends of the bridge?
#3) don't tell me it is "Gabion" fortification. If it is, then at what repose angle?
#4) Don't you know what you are dealing with? for a country prone to the violence of the rage of unforgiving storm water, it seem to me most unprofessional for anyone to design and build something like this.

I wish you all the best and good luck, but put an end to the usual coco-makak.

Ever since I was a child, I keep seeing these interactions repeat. Black people talk about hurt, White people don’t “get it”. And, always, Black people seem to be evolving but White America does not. It isn’t as simple as “they don’t really care about us.” There is a deeper issue at play. It’s embedded. Empathizing with Black people has never been a part of the visual culture. White people have been so privileged, in the visual landscape, that they don’t have the ability to step into the shoes of others, especially not Black people.

I am astounded when I hear people say that movies and television are “just entertainment”. Or, that visuals have very little weight in the construction of identity or culture. WRONG! Visuals create identity. Even if we come from homes where we read books, where there was an air of Black pride, we are still shaped by what we see. Even when I’m around the most progressive and radical voices in the culture, I still see an identification with, a need to be accepted into white culture.

When I can tolerate it, I turn on TCM. Watch that channel and you get to see what the diet of white images has been for decades. There are also nostalgic stations on TV that allow me to view shows like “Father Knows Best”, “Dennis the Menace” and “Leave It To Beaver”. I watch these shows and wonder how these images impacted the Black psyche at that time. What was the message to people who didn’t look like the all White programming? How does someone develop desire, love for self, love for someone who looks like them? How does one develop identity?

Fortunately, in our time, we get to see the White male anti-hero. He destroys the life of his family at the same time that he seeks fortune, glory, power (i.e. Mad Men, The Sopranos, Breaking Bad). But, the White male is still the powerful figure in the narrative. He dominates and controls the life of the show. The show is his universe. If Black people enter that universe, they are tangential and problematic.

The flipside of the criminalization of Black men is the coronation of White men. The flipside of the beauty of White women is the ugliness of Black women.

America’s canon of images negates the humanity of Black people. What we then see, from Black content creators, is a reactionary dichotomy. There are Black people who attempt to become colorless by stepping into roles that do not address race, plight or challenge the narrative of power. Unless, of course, it is an acceptable and known figure (for example, Will Smith as Muhammad Ali).

Or, we see Black folks who address “issues”. That’s what Black people do. We bring up the “societal ills”. Because, that is our role. That’s the currency that we have in the culture. We become saddled with having to speak to the “problems” in the culture. In doing so, we become “the problem”. This could be why the White person, who doesn’t know you, has never met you, will roll their eyes when you speak about racism as if they’ve heard you say something over 1,000 times. That’s what they see in the media. Black people keep bringing up slavery, inequity, civil rights, because that’s our role. White people don’t speak about it. They are simply living their lives, buying Tide, and here we come, disrupting their lives with talk about racism.

It’s an interesting arrangement we have in the landscape of visuals. It’s an arrangement that needs to be broken.

SON-OF-MAN:

You sound more like a woman with all your complaining about white man this and white man that. Black man poor, slave, so blame white folks.
Seriously, do you go to bed blaming every body else for your lack of the good things in life, instead of getting up from your backside and do some good work for a change.
Now tell me, SON OF SOMETHING ELSE, what do you aspire to in this life, I don't want you to tell me, "to behead Christians, execute anyone who disagree with your barbaric uncivilized and backward thinking" why don't you get real, do like me; work, support a family, educate the kids and the GIRLS, be happy, love everyone and don't forget ---GO TO CHURCH ON SUNDAY AND PRAISE THE LORD OF LORDS AND KING OF KINGS.

Tell me isn't that beautiful? try it, you'll like it.

Says the VIRGIL.
