Our country has no direction in a country of the blind,where a one eye man is king.
There's a saying " The natives are resless."
Sadly our morals and social structure has varnish, gone. We need great leadership and inspiration. Wake up my people!!!
Prayer
Leadership is one thing. However if the parents not playing a parenting roll and teaching their kids wrong from right. Not even the Government can stop the from doing the crime. They can help with trying to reduce it, but anything that has to do with areas like grass street it's drug and gang related. You can't really stop target killings. You can try but....
Prayer??? At this stage I don't think that can work at the rate things are going. It's like these criminals are behaving like animals and have no regard for human life. Tell these human rights activist to take a back seat, and its time to bring back the Cat-o-9, and public floggings. I mean these criminals shoot and kill people in broad daylight infront of everyone, so its only fair to punish them in public as well. Its time for lucians to take back our country.
All comments above have a degree of truth.
A) As a society we have lost all morals and values
B) We need leadership.
C) Prayer is a very important aspect of this process
D) Parenting has to be improved
Here are the problems.
From which of our leaders can we expect to get morals and values.
How can we even get “morals and values” from our people when at the heights of our society our intellectual and political elites deride anything that mentions values or morals.
A few years ago when morals and values were mentioned as societal issues , the Labour Party leaders laughed at this as some kind of foolishness being sprouted by innocents. Which UWP politician also is in any position to talk about morals and values ?
The concept of morals and values is either inculcated into you as a child or at least you have to understand its relevance and practice it as a way of life. You cannot like St. Lucian politicians just mouth these words unless you understand them.
Leadership requires sacrifice , intestinal fortitude and a blueprint for success. Which of our politicians or the “wannabees” waiting on the sidelines are in the fray or want to join the fray with the intention of working hard or making the tough decisions ?
How can we talk of prayer when in Parliament politicians take religion as a political crutch just mouthing words and sprouting biblical quotations even as they are abusing their wives or running other women.
How can we improve parenting when research proves that the single greatest factor affecting delinquency in our societies is single parent households and the absence of the father in the household. Which politician is going to make these points in the face of a wholesale acceptance of single motherhood as “we ting” ?
Are we in Castries or Vieux Fort or Dennery willing to accept proper discipline in our communities when drug running and usage is rampant in all these communities ?
The fact is on both sides of the political fence ( and forget the fringe parties) we have no one with the character or ability of a John Compton.
We are on the path to continue to have increased criminal activity, we are destined to have increased delinquency , low GDP and a high murder rate.
THE MORAL MALAISE RAMPANT IN THE COUNTRY STEMS FROM THE VERY PINNACLE OF SOCIETY. THE PEOPLE WHO SHOULD BE SETTING AN EXAMPLE ARE TOO BUSY FEATHERING THEIR OWN NEST.

Guy Mayers is out of his depth, under his leadership the country is decending into spiral of crime and violence. On the subject of CCTV, a victim of crime in the UK once told me that the camera does not stop crime it merly records the actions.
What is required is for the politicians to address the causes of crime , poor education, poverty , lack of a moral direction, developing alternatives to crime.
