A number of logical observations in this article.
Yes, Prime Minister Stephenson King has not and neither have his colleagues in the House given any indication (except for the comment at the Dennery rally) that they are contemplating an elections.
The next elections can be delayed until March 2012 which includes the extra 3 months allowed by the Constitution. Fot rabid SLP supporters this means that you have another 2 years and 2 months to wait. Sorry !!
I would not hold elections until there is a comprehensive poll to determine the lay of the land. Has one been done ? It is rumoured but not confirmed and it was suposed to be positive for the UWP. This is good news because the US and UK appear to be coming out of their economic morass which could help St. Lucia. Things can only get better for Prime Minister King.
I am interested in how D'Auvergne will be played for this round.
The article commented:
"Kenny Anthony is often accused of using his honest drive to reinvent St. Lucia" That is your view. I do not think that Kenny Anthony had any "honest drive" He just narcistically and arrogantly thought he was the great one with his historically failed liberal philosophy who was put there to be our political Massiah. He turned out to be just arrogant and incompetent. The main reason that he is still standing is that too mank hacks and opportunists within the SLP still depend on their connections to him to ensure they feed of the Treasury and St. Lucians if the SLP were to win. No other reason.
The UWP will go into the next elections with Prime Minister Stephenson King as olitical leader of the UWP (baring ill health)and there are many tactical reasons that he should, including one where his own laid back attitude is of great political advantage.
This is a wide open elections coming sometime in the next 26 months with the UWP having the edge provided they play their cards right and do not go off doing any stupid things in the next few months.
It is not appropriate to talk about the LPM being ready if Sherrif King calls elections. You cannot call them in the same breath as the SLP.
LPM is no different than ONE at this stage of the game and if you remember prior to the last elections ONE and NDM were more recognized, had more established leaders and were generally more significant as political players than the just established and unproven LPM.
Except for a few pronouncements, press releases and blogs the persons behind LPM have done nothing of consequence, have not shown themselves ready and capable of competing against the Uited Workers Party or the St. Lucia Labour Party - both institutions with 25,000 plus followers AND 50 years of history and accomplishment behind them.
LPM logistically has a major problem with their head honchos based outside of St. Lucia. This is a serious logistical problem which means for the present except for an occasional foray to St. Lucia they will be limited to press releases, blogs and a web site. Not a sufficient reason to call their name in the same breath as the SLP.
For the time being they probably have the same goals as the NDM with D'Auvergne which is to be recognized and co-opted by one of the two parties of consequence so that the LPM leaders can get some placement in a subsequent Government as D'Auvergne in 2006.
Both Flambeau and Labour know this and will not take them on. Been there done that.
three were launch and that gives the UWP 3 sure seats. and with emma hyppolite being flaunted for soufriere hmmm only god knows lol. The KING PIN must be laughing at kenny lol.

They've been calling for early elections every single day. Is the SLP and LPM going to be ready when Sheriff John Brown King come for them?

I think they should complete the whole term, the people need stability.
Boy that's a very long story you give us the LPM. Next time get to the point!
Neither SLP nor LPN or what have you can beat the UWP.
Stop wasting you time. Dream on its going to be a long dream.
